HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! Avoid at all costs. They destroyed my husband’s art print and still charged him$ 35 for nothing and refused to give a refund. Horrible customer service. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. On a previous occasion they framed a poster for us but the lady dropped it and the glass shattered. She said«no no it’s fine». Terrible. Don’t give these people your money. Go to De Serres on Spadina and get them to frame things properly.

Great turn around time — a little tricky to get a hold of by phone and the staff is a little. cold. But they do excellent work for a great price. Its the only place I’ll go in the city.

Got another smaller 11×14 piece framed here today. The easter European lady at the counter asked me numerous questions about the color of the mat, size etc. It all, ended up all right. i’ll post a couple pics if i find the way to do it.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! If I could give this place zero stars I would. I brought a beautiful print to this gallery to have it framed as it was very important to me — gifted to me by my now deceased grandfather. The gallery completely destroyed my piece. DESTROYEDIT. They ripped the print and put a fingerprint of GLUE right in the middle of it. Why would they even think it was ok to GLUE my print into a frame?! I was so upset and shocked that I had to walk out when I saw the damage. The worst part? At first they tried to shrug it off as if it were no big deal. I was FURIOUS! The owner tried to remedy the situation by, supposedly, ordering another print and framing it for me. Not the same as the print handled and given to me by my Pop but at least he was trying. When I went to pick it up, the print looked strange and after much back and forth with the employee, she took it from the frame. It was a PHOTO of the print! I am beyond upset at this gallery. First they destroy my art then treat me like an idiot. May be a fine place to purchase a frame but I will NEVER go back. Businesses like these do not deserve to be frequented. I am waiting for the owner to get in touch and fix this situation. I’ll update my review once this has been dealt with.

This store is pretty straight forward. They sell frames and make frames. The store isn’t pretty, there’s a bunch of standard metal shelving to house all of the product. The frames are neatly stacked and have the size and price clearly written on the packaging. There are a number of oddball sizes so with that you’re going to pay a little more than say, Ikea, but you’ll also be able to get the exact size you need and no have to do a bunch of matting to force your image to fit into a standard size. A little downer of this place was the lack of customer service. The store was buzzing with a few patrons but the staff weren’t engaged, just standing there. No greeting or thank-you for visiting. I’m sure if you engaged them though they would be more than happy to help.

If you need a frame in absolutely any size, Victor Gallery will have it. And it’ll be way cheaper than your average store. I came here one day with the intention of buying frames for all of those impulse Séripop and Etsy poster purchases I made in the past two years but never got around to framing because the costs were so prohibitive. It later occurred to me that I didn’t care to professionally matte or frame these posters — a standard frame would do the trick. So I measured every square inch of my apartment and went to town. Name a poster dimension and they’ve got the frame for it. If they don’t, they’ll gladly make it for you. I bought frames in odd sizes like 20×25, 4×28, 20×30, 11×18 and so on. Colours vary, but I managed to pick up mostly black, bronze and white for my various posters. I actually had to return three times just to be able to carry them all — and none were more than $ 60(that was for the 20×30). The staff is decidedly eastern European(that is to say: stoic and no bullshit). Just make sure you measure things and consider colour before paying visit or you’ll be overwhelmed by the aisles upon aisles of frame storage. Closed on Sundays.

I typically don’t review non-food establishments. In fact, this is the first! Custom framing is expensive. With the new digital photography formats, the need for non-traditional frame sizes are on the increase. Unfortunately, not many places carry ‘ready-made’ frames in a variety of sizes. When they do, they’re probably poorly made ones from China. Victor Gallery carries a HUGE variety of ”ready-made’ frames and shadow boxes. Have something that is 32.25 inches by 34.5 inches? Their custom frames are very reasonably priced. The item I got was custom done, and I am very impressed with the service, quality, and price. Beats Michael’s any day of the week. They’ve definitely won me over!
