History

Established in 2011.

Samantha Merkur has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. She first turned to yoga for its Aryvedic healing benefits. Sam struggled with digestive issues and ultimately changed her eating and health routines completely towards a more yogic lifestyle. Her initial introduction to Yoga was in the Iyengar system in which she practices and studies to date. Her intuition and body awareness was heightened by her practice and she fell in love with the challenge and natural highs she could achieve from certain asanas. After her second cesarean-section Sam was left with the side effect of a transverse abdominal hernia from her incision. Through her yoga practice she naturally retrained the connective tissues and muscles to rejoin and reduce the hernia significantly.

In addition to her Iyengar training, she has studied other Hatha styled practices like Bikram, Moksha, Ashtanga, and Anasura yoga. Sam is Yoga Alliance certified to teach and is passionate about sharing her knowledge.

Samantha M.

Business Owner

Before turning her love for yoga into a profession, Sam received her Bachelor of Arts in Film and Communications; completed a diploma in Graphic Design; and worked in the Advertising industry for a 10 year career at the Director level for digital print studios. She now dabbles as a Voice Over Talent and is a Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor, who continues to evolve her practice and yoga education with current enrollment in an Iyengar Teaching Traiing Program.

As a mother of two… she spends many hours in the kitchen on food prep, creating art with her 7 and 5 year old, and lovingly nurtures her 10 year Goldenpoo! When she is not with her family, nor teaching yoga, she is happiest in her garden, pruning, planting and becoming one with mother earth.
