Best Phở I have ever had! I really recommend this place! The service is really great too!

I think the phở is average. But if I’m having a phở craving and I’m in the area and feeling too lazy to travel anywhere else, I’ll hunker down and have a bowl of soup here, no questions asked. The banh mi is OK as well. Overall, the place is not spectacular, but not bad either.

Was average. I wanted Vietnam food very much and this place is the most close one so I went, after checking the previous reviews and preparing myself for a flat dinner. I ordered noodle soup and chicken brochette, the soup was OK, nothing to be amazed by nor to complain, but the chicken brochette was a dispointment. The bamboo stick in it was burnt so I couldn’t hold it as it went all crispy and easily broken, and the chicken itself had no flavor except for being salty. There were 3 per order and I hardly finished one… Though there was complimentary fruit after dinner, a nice surprise, I still will not go back next time.

I love this place, and it is my go to ! Service is lacking, but when the Phở is good, no complaints. The spring rolls are soo good. If you want pretty good phở, go here… if you are looking for great service, well… that might disappoint you. Pick your battles sometimes… I have been here many times, and I often get take out.

I just ordered the C3 and it was terrible. The egg pie smelled like dog food and the pulled pork tasted weird. The only part of the dish that was edible was the pork chop and rice. Leaving 2⁄3 of my plate uneaten, I let the lady ringing me up know that I couldn’t eat my meal. She proceeded to argue with me and said she can’t help that I don’t like a dish and plenty of people order it and it’s supposed to taste that way! Leaving this restaurant hungry and $ 10 poorer is so disappointing as I used to go all the time and always enjoyed myself. Service was also terrible, she forgot about our water and gave us the bill when we weren’t even done eating. Avoid this restaurant!

This is absolutely the worst Vietnamese restaurant that I have eaten in and I have been to a lot. Steer clear! Phở was mediocre at best, broth tasted like water mixed with some kind of MSG powdered broth. It’s definitely not broth that’s been simmering for hours like in an authentic Vietnamese restaurant The spring rolls were pathetic and overpriced and same with the summer rolls. Service was so so. Waiter was so rude, I asked for an itemized receipt and he just looked at me as if he couldn’t understand English and just walked away. I take full responsibility for choosing this restaurant. We should be turned around and left when we saw the almost empty restaurant on a Friday night. Our favorite Vietnamese restaurant was closed and we needed to go Christmas shopping at Metro so we wanted to stay in the area.

We had the worst lunch ever. The waitress got both our orders wrong and then insisted we made the mistake. Make sure you confirm the order with the waitress.

NEVERGOHERE! I have been going to this restaurant for over 8 years straight, I used to take my mother here, but as of today I WILLNEVERRETURN. I came in at 12:00 on the dot, they wanted to seat me at the counter(which us very narrow and has very little room) but as there was a single table available, and so I took it. The table still had the previous guests food remains on it. It took over 8 minutes for the table to be wiped. I still had no menu at this point or water or tea. After another 7 minutes, I flagged down the waitress who asked if I wanted tea or water — I said I just want to order but would also like tea and water. And so she left. I received no tea, no water and never got to order — as I watched other people come in, get seated, given a menu, water and tea and some ever got their food before THEYEVENASKEDMEFORMYORDER. After a total wait time of 19 minutes, the owner Hannah came over and told me she was sorry. Unfortunately I cannot eat sorry and so I advised her I would just leave and NEVERCOMEBACK. And so I left. If you enjoy being completely ignored and like to waste your precious lunch hour then by all means come here — you will not be disappointed.

My first experience here with my colleague was mediocre. Maybe we came on a wrong day but the service was poor. We were not acknowledged from the beginning when we walked in to the restaurant. There were four tables with customers including ours during the time and it seems as though the server does not know how to look around to see who needs service. It took us awhile to get our orders in as we were waiting for the server to come by. She walked back and forth past us many times but did not acknowledged our existence. We each ordered a large phở, shared their deep fried spring rolls, and ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee to go. The spring rolls was crispy and delicious but we found it way too greasy/oily! The phở looked appetizing and smelled good until my colleague found a strand of hair and dead ladybug in her soup. We attempted to get some service from the same and only server who would not look at our table and walk past us without acknowledging us. After 5 minutes, we finally got her attention and had let her know about our surprise. Without apologizing or expressions, she just said she will make us another. I wonder if the hair and ladybug was cooked in the same batch of phở soup served to everyone else… I tried not to think about it too much. Overall, the food was okay because of the disgusting incident. The service is poor. The older lady who may be the owner seemed very nice and happy but the younger lady who was serving us totally ignored us many times and never smiled.

Ordered the«Special Phở» and pork salad rolls. Salad rolls were alright — probably should have ordered the shrimp instead. Phở was good. Broth was a bit salty than I’m used to and could have been more flavourful, but not bad. Meatballs were too salty for me though. I work in the area so I’d probably come again, but I’m sure there’s better phở in Vancouver!

Team Tastic came here for a post-musical-theatre-show meal and I had the following: Phở Tai Gan($ 8.45, Vietnamese rice noodles with tendon and rare beef) Spring Rolls($ 5.95) The Phở here comes with the standard fare of onions, scallion, and cilantro in a beef broth. I found the tendon to be plentiful compared to chains like Phở Thai Hoa and the soup wasn’t too oily. The noodles were okay, a little chewy, and I think they might have been fresh noodles since the bowl took awhile to arrive. The pricing here is average for phở in Vancouver and this was an average bowl to match. The Spring Rolls here are a beauty. They use some higher quality rice paper here instead of the frozen spring roll wrap you see at some other chains(again, Thai Son) and these were on the same level as Song Huong over in East Vancouver.

Came with the lab for a quick greet-the-summer-students meal. Quite enjoyed my mixed beef phở! Value: cheap, but the portion wasn’t that large either — might go for the large next time. Service: not bad, pretty enthusiastic Return-worthy? Considering it’s a favourite among lab workers, yep.

Good service, good food, reasonable prices. Vegetarian or not they have plenty of options. My favourite is the salad rolls and vegetarian phở.

My guy and I went for a bowl of phở after both working incredibly long shifts outside. We needed something to warm us from the inside out and the phở here did just that. While I’ve had better tasting broth in other places on Kingsway, I have no complaints about the soup here. I had the rare beef and my bf had the house special. The service was very friendly and quick and the place appeared clean. I’ll definitely return if I have a hankering for phở and don’t want to venture all the way to East Van.

I usually come here not for the phở, and but for the Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches. I the BBq chicken one is super tasty and the French roll is fresh and crunchy. It gets super busy here during weekday lunch! Service is attentive but borderline rude during peak hours

Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. Probably the best way to describe this place is that it is a like a Vietnamese place you would find in a foodcourt but a bit better,. and with way more menu items(but that kind of offering on combos with vermicelli and roll dips etc.) A nice little space that happens to be near to my home. The décor is nice and service pleasant,. beyond a lunch crowd joint and I could envision coming here for dinner when the cupboards at home are bare. We had a Viet-sub, roll dips and a rice dish. They do have Phở but that is not their focus, There are a few other items I would like to have tried. Remember on Unilocal that 3 stars is A-ok! I’ll be back, it is convenient for me and inexpensive.

Incredible deep fried spring rolls in Combo — L1. Add small wonton soup for $ 2.25. Deep fried wonton, also good(with spicy tomato sauce). Very homemade taste. Friendly server. Many take-outs flying out the door. Right near Oak St.

Had their P9 — spicy beef and pork phở. Wow this one has a lot of random bits. I couldn’t tell which part of the animals I was eating. Just like in Vietnam.

I would give them a 2 for their BBH. But a 3 for everything else. The BBH was, honestly, not that great. It’s not something I’d order again there. But I’ve had their regular Phở multiple times and it has never failed me. They also have amazing salad rolls(Mango Basil!). FYI. Their Phở portions aren’t the greatest(I’d go for the large)!
