All About Floors

WARNING: They sold me LEAD BASED TILES! I gave Richard, the owner, a couple weeks to look into the matter after emailing him a message through Unilocal! I also left a phone message as per his request, but still have not received a response?! It feels like this SERIOUS ISSUE is being AVOIDED?! So, to protect others from this potential health risk, here is my story:
In November 2012, All About Floors supplied and installed the tiles for an insurance claim we made when the hardwood floors in our condo were ruined by our dishwasher leaking. The subcontractor did a wonderful job of laying the tiles and they looked beautiful! It wasn’t until 3 years later, when the condo above us flooded our unit and ruined the rest of our hardwood floors that remained in the hallway, we found out there was LEAD in these TILES! This was found out when the restoration company tested the tiles before their safe removal. We still have a leftover bundle of tiles to prove it! We were also SURPRISED to hear that All About Floors had no existing paperwork to show that the tiles or any of the work was completed by them; however, our former insurance company has those documents and I still have email communications to prove it!
Now I understand why Marco was urging us to put an anti-​crack coating on the tiles which we were told we would be required and would have to pay him a few hundred dollars outside of the insurance claim! We opted out of this suggestion. Now I realize the anti-​crack was probably suggested to lessen the exposure of the lead from the tiles!
Without any possible explanation or follow-​up from the owners, I am extremely DISAPPOINTED and DISGUSTED by the lack of ethics and the dangers this may have caused my family’s and pet’s HEALTH!!.
Have lead based products not been disallowed for many years now? How could a company put their name behind that and not feel guilty or even want to clear this up? Stay away from this place for your health and well-​being! Clearly, no morals here.
