Bad Vancouver 2010 Olympic Visitors

Pardon me for getting this off my chest. But today I had it with people disrespecting Vancouver. Let’s just pretend this review isn’t here. But it sure feels a bit better writing it!
My thought about the roughly 50 – 55 year old man with a big beer belly and an Olympic pass hangtag around his neck that was smoking a cigar on the Aquabus dock at Hornby Street today blowing smoke in everyone’s faces who then threw the cigar butt into False Creek before boarding the Aquabus was, «SCREW YOU!»
I normally wouldn’t react so strongly to a bad visitor. But you are truly a disgusting human being with no shame.
But I didn’t say, «SCREW YOU!!!» I’m trying to maintain some politeness and dignity even in the face of his behaviour.
Instead when I said in my most polite Canadian way, «Excuse me, you seem to have dropped something» and pointed to your still burning cigar butt floating in the water and he responded, «What of it?»
My thought, «SCREW YOU!!!»
When I responded in my most polite sarcastic Canadian way, «Well, we would appreciate if when you visit you didn’t litter» and he just grunted.
My thought, «SCREW YOU!!!»
I have a wish for you and your loved ones: «May the butts of 1,000,000 smoldering cigars pour down on your home to welcome you back home when you get out of our city.»
