Specialties

Gelato & dairy free sorbetto made daily in artisan batches from scratch. Ranked #1 with food bloggers & called a «Gelato worshippers Temple.» We change our flavours with the seasons and work with local farmers and growers. We use Avalon organic milk for our gelato and Canadian Spring Water for our sorbetto’s. Quality over quantity as we do not use industrial bases or flavouring.

We also have an true Italian coffee and use only real chocolate for our hot chocolates. We have desserts and have become a hot spot for people looking for artisan gelato and experience quality similar to their experiences in Italy.

Established in 2010.

2012 Florence, Italy Gelato Festival — Winner 1^st place

Opened June 28, 2010 and quickly captured the authentic gelato market using old-world handcrafted techniques making all the gelato in the gelateria. Using only the best local or global ingredients all flavors are in season and rotated daily. The only gelateria in Vancouver that uses Avalon organic milk for it’s gelato and spring water for it’s sorbettos.

This is the best International gelato! A small little gelato shop near the waterfront of Vancouver! I got the toasted maple walnut with sea salt flavor gelato– a crowd favorite, and my partner got the burnt caramel! They both were flavorful, sweet, and creamy! We literally saw the servers make the Gelato in front of our eyes, it was incredible! Expect a long line, but well worth the wait!

I gave a 3 star review because I can’t understand why I waited in a long, long line for gelato that tasted like all the other gelatos I’ve tasted before. For one of my 3 samples I chose a green gelato because I was curious. It tasted like grass and feet.
I ended up getting raspberry gelato which was really good.
We got 2 single flavor cones and 1 double flavor cone and we paid $ 20…which I think was a rip off… in the end I was left still craving something sweet so I went to my hotel restaurant for dessert #2.

To be honest I have no idea what the hype about this place is. The gelato is good but I’m no ice cream/gelato/sorbet connoisseur and was very clueless as to why I was paying so much for a regular unglamorous scoop in a cheap plastic cup. Unless you’re huge on gourmet ice cream and like judge them at competitions or smth I think there are cooler places to go to where a cold treat tastes just as good and you get a more generous portion. Also the lines are insane

Excellent gelato with a creamy/fresh texture that isn’t as watery as cheaper stuff or as heavy as ice cream. You do pay a higher price for this store but it seems appropriate for the quality, it seemed to be just the right amount for the calorie risk. Great flavor selection of bitter and sweet, loved the black sesame. I ONLY went here when the line was reasonable, it looked at times to be an hour long, by which time I would been a little more disappointed for the investment ratio.
Second time in the week I went I got a matcha green tea shake of some sort, unfortunately it was way to grassy and bitter and I tired of it after half the dose, not recommended unless you really like super strong matcha. Great service, a slower line but this is more due to the attention each person gets than any inefficiency; still they could move the line faster at peak times

Scoops could have been more generous.
The gelato was definitely fluffier and creamier than I’ve had at other places. The flavors were a bit muted from what I’m used to, but the texture and quality were there.
I’m subtracting a few stars because we found a hair in our gelato long after we paid for it. :(
Long lines… meh. Maybe just had an off experience, but wasn’t impressed.

I was really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately I was not impressed.
To start, you are not allowed to try the gelato before paying for one (which, I should add, is overpriced). Once you pay you cannot try more than 3 samples. The containers are all covered so you can’t see what any of them look like when ordering. I tried the green tea, earl gray, and lavender. I wasn’t impressed with any flavor l tried. The earl grey sample had some weird chunky pieces in it that didn’t belong. Seems like other Unilocalers had the same experience with that. I asked if I can split two flavors in my cup but the girl said that isn’t allowed. While eating my gelato I found out others were able to do two split flavors in the past. I went back to ask about that but she said it costs more money to do so. I told her I wasn’t given that option when I asked to split but she said it was written. I guess they don’t let you pay extra for that once you’ve already paid even if you didn’t order yet. You would have had to know that ahead of time before paying if you wanted two flavors or not.
With all that said, I won’t be back.

All the flavours are so real that u have ti ask if ice ream is in there.

This place really lives up to the hype! They offer unique gelato flavours and each flavour is very distinct. They allow you to sample up to 3 flavours before making a choice on your order.
I had their Toasted Pecan with Maldon Sea Salt flavour. We were told that this flavour was named the «best gelato in the world» … and deservedly so! You can distinctly taste the toasted pecan flavour; it’s really bold. The saltiness really adds to the overall taste and actually brings out and complements the sweetness in the gelato. I’ve never tasted any gelato quite like it.
We also tried their Old Fashion Chocolate. Chocolate sounds like a very basic flavour, but this one was very rich and «chocolate-y» (for a lack of a better word). I would definitely recommend it to any chocolate fan.

Finally found my favourite flavours at Bella– Early Grey and Bailey’s Irish cream. Been to this location twice and I find the location at Yaletown is way more pleasant and the ambiance is just a whole lot better. Plus they have the matcha chocolate drizzle. I came this time to try the buffalo milk gelato’s but to my disappointment I didn’t like the texture so they stayed as samples for me. It was less creamy and has a paste-like texture similar to Elmer’s glue. I was also looking for their Sakura flavour but didn’t seem to spot it on the menu.

As a serious lover of ice cream, gelato, frozen yoghurt etc I was SO happy about how many gelato joints were dotted around Vancouver, all of which we visited were great. However, this place was hands down my favourite, and I could’ve happily had gelato from here ever day during our stay in Vancouver! Which was pretty dangerous especially since it was a literally down the road from where we stayed. We did a lot of avoiding that side of the street otherwise I would’ve come home a stone heavier!

First of all, all of their ice creams are covered, so there’s no way to see how they look like. That’s a real turn off for me, since I like to see and to know what I’m going to indulge myself in.
Second, you have to pay BEFORE you can even decide/taste the flavors you want. And since there’s a huge line behind you, you have to go fast.
Finally, what happened to the safe bet of vanilla flavor?! They have chocolate, coffee and tons of fancy flavors, but no vanilla?!
Since my friend and I had been waiting in line for some time already (and that I was disappointed by the fact they didn’t have vanilla…), we went to try their fancy flavors. Each of us tried 2 flavors… we were left totally unimpressed, to say the least! While the taste of Black sesame was interesting-ok, its texture was so fatty that we actually had the impression to drink regular cream, straight from the bottle. Lavender really feels like you’re eating lavender essential oil. Salted cherry blossom was probably the worst of all the flavors we had, no comments needed! Sorbets are not any better and are veeeeery sweet.
Everything is totally overpriced: 5.50 $ for 1 flavor only and 7.70 $ for a milkshake!
Going back? Summer is just around the corner, so I’ll rather explore other places, thank you.

The freshest gelato that isn’t in Italy! This Canadian gelateria is a gem sitting on the corner of the Fairmont Pacific Rim. The owner here is fun, personable, and makes the gelato himself from scratch. Need I say more?
I opted for a scoop of lavender and Belgian chocolate sea salt in a cone. My husband went for the strachiatella (sp?) or the Italian version of chocolate chip with chocolate shavings.
Would love to live closer to this spot for endless days of gelato…

My friend and I went to Bella Gelateria earlier and good thing I finally got to try this place. Short quick line up when we first walked in (PERFECT!) and this was right place for dessert after ramen.
BG offers variety of flavours like chocolate, matcha and etc and I liked my matcha icecream. I really liked cherry flavour after sampling and they didn’t have enough to scoop out meaning I had to wait or get different flavour. Chocolate cherry was alright.
Texture was soft. No black sesame flavour was available when we went. My friend got Akbar Mashiti and chocolate with sea salt (I think? Can’t remember) and found the icecream too sweet.
BG was good but not amazing in my personal opinion. I’m willing to give another try.

Delicious gelato and they don’t hold back on the portion sizes! I got the banana bread and mint chocolate chip. Yum! I also sampled their fancy Akbar Mashti, it was surprisingly refreshing, although not what I was feeling.
If you want to spoil yourself and have a high quality gelato. This is your place.

Black Sesame, long lines, melt in your mouth.
First, Black Sesame. You’ve won my heart. (salted caramel, I am not cheating on you I swear!)
Second, the lines! Do yourself the favour and actually set aside half an hour for this joint. Bring a light cookie with you, or something so you don’t actually eat your neighbour in line.
Third, they are the truly soft delicious gelato of your dreams — must try once (when not extremely famished)

I admit, the gelato here is really good. In the past, I had lavender, lavender and earl grey and matcha… but they are all good! It’s very light, but flavours are dancing on my tongue. It’s that good. Price is expensive, but worth trying it.
I went there in winter time, so the line up wasn’t so bad. It’s definitely one of the must-try spots in Vancouver.

No one understands how much I love ice cream, so when I say this place is my favorite ice cream shop in the whold wide world, I mean it! Their award winning ice cream is worth traveling from the U.S. to enjoy. I don’t know how they do it, but I highly recommend everyone try their ice cream once in their lives.
The Creamsicle ice cream is my all time favorite. It tastes like fresh sweet oranges with cream in my tastebuds and I can’t even describe it any further. Their Banana Bread ice cream is my second favorite. The banana ice cream is very flavorful and is comes with chunks of banana bread. They offer so many other unique flavors that you’ll just have to try for yourself. I recommend trying the Noodle ice cream that actually has noodles in it!

What a treat! After a fulfilling dinner, my sisters and I decided to fulfill our sweet tooth. I searched Unilocal for «gelato», found Bella and wanted to see what all the excitement was all about
I ordered the pumpkin pie gelato and my sisters got mint chocolate chip and cactus pear. All 3 flavors tasted exactly of what they were. The flavors were so rich! My gelato tasted EXACTLY like pumpkin pie, DELICIOUS!
They customer service was good and the lines moved fast! There isn’t much seating so be prepared to either take it to go or eat outside. Regardless, still worth the stop!
My only complaint which has NOTHING to do with Bella was the damn parking meters! $ 6 for one hour! Smh!

Ok you will definitely be able to find this place. You knew why? Because they always have a line that wraps around the corner. This place is always busy. Every time we passed, line. The line is a bit shorter earlier in the day. We waited about an hour and half at dinner time and half hour around lunch time the following day. Worth the wait? Depends how much you like gelato. We really like gelato obviously since we waited and went back again.
They have tons of unique gelato flavors, some with ingredients from around the world like Black Sesame (Japan). They have other flavors like Essex sea salt and Akbar Mashti (rosewater, saffron, pistachio).
First you choose your size and pay, then you choose your flavors. They have take out gelato and hot drinks as well.
Please note: only 3 samples! Choose wisely.
We went back twice since we
wanted to try so many flavors. My personal favorite was the banana bread and chocolate Maldon sea salt. The banana bread had chunks of banana bread and totally tasted like the real thing and it went great with the chocolate Maldon sea salt. The chocolate Maldon sea salt had a good balance of flavor.
They have cups and cones. Don’t forget to ask for the cute wafer on the top! The prices are average $ 5.50 for a single cup ranging to $ 9.50 for a triple flavor cone.
We sampled some of the sorbettos and they were pretty good too. The flavors do change… on our second day there was no banana bread. Boo! But that did make me try other flavors at least!
I recommend getting at least two flavors! You can’t just choose one…

Le sorbet chocolat noir, la glacé à la noisette ou pistache sont à tomber par terre l le meilleur glacier du continent nord americain, presque aussi bien que kr meilleur glacier de Pztis dans l’ile Saint Louis BERTHILLON .un SUMMUN pour ses sorbets au fraises des bois, pêches blanches de vigne, poire etc…
À vancouver sans aucune comparaison c’est Bella Gelateria le meilleur glacier
