Blenheim Import Service

This place is not good. Crappy service. They didn’t fix the problem. They said they didn’t know what it was but still gave me a chunky bill. The head guy is rude. Never bringing my car here again!

I’m having a very hard time believing that any of these 4 and 5 star ratings are legitimate. Blenheim Import Service has demonstrated nothing more than complete incompetence, arrogance, and downright deceitful practices in their attempts to change a simple signal light on my Cayenne.
Regrettably, I took my Porsche into Blenheim Import «Services» for a routine signal light replacement a few weeks ago, and in the 48 hours it took them to try to complete this job, their mechanic managed to destroy the entire driver’s side headlight system by stripping the locking mechanism that holds a headlight in place. Now neither my headlight nor my signals work. On top of that, the signal makes an anemic whining sound every time I try to use it. Mind you, I really only need to use my car’s signal system when turning right, since I’m forced to resort to hand signals for left turns these days — thanks a lot Ron and super rude European man whose name I was not given.
By the way, guess how they decided to try to fix the headlight unit they busted? With WIRE! The mechanic fashioned a hokey attachment system out of discarded wire the width of an orthodontic product. He wrapped one end of the very limp wire around a hook at the back of the housing, and the other around the headlight itself to prevent it from spilling out onto the street the minute I left the shop. Hey! Instead of a WIRE, maybe fix the unit that holds the headlight in place? The part you broke.
Of course they didn’t offer to fix their mistake, instead, they tried to blame the broken unit on the previous mechanics, who just happened to be the Porsche Centre itself! Nice try.
My bill for such astonishing heights of incompetence and chicanery? over $ 1,000.00.
I’ve been back THREE times, trying to get these guys to cop to their mechanic’s error, and either refund me the cost of the labour, or fix the problem.
The first time I went back the European man all but accused me of lying, and demanded I return at a time that better suited his planner-​folio, even though I was there for a scheduled appointment! The more I tried to explain in a measured and rational tone, the logistics of the problem and the timeline leading up to it, (which clearly pointed to their mechanic being at fault), the angrier he became. He told me to return the next morning, 8:00am!
I told him I’d be there at 9:30am.
At 9:30am the next day, (a Thursday) Ron comes out to help me because the European man has decided he no longer wants to talk to me. Ron sends me off for 45 minutes and when I return he says he’s fixed everything. I drive my car away and within seconds, NOTHING works! No signal and NO HEADLIGHT.
So I go around the block, return to the Big Top, and Ron says: «You know, I was supposed to leave for a family vacation at the cottage today, but because of YOU, we had to cancel our plans. No family trip, I guess, but don’t feel bad»
Then he tells me he’d have to order a special part that he «just remembered.» He adds that I will in fact be charged for my next visit so that he won’t be on the hook for the part.
To recap: after 3 visits, my Porsche is in worse condition than it was when it merely required a routine signal light replacement. The headlight is destroyed; the housing is destroyed; the signal doesn’t work; and, the crisp, pleasing sound that a functioning «clicker» system normally makes when signalling a turn, has been replaced with nails down a chalk board.
I will be reporting Blenheim Import Service to the Better Business Bureau, and unlike all these phantom «happy customers from LANGLEY» (does that even make any sense?) I am comfortable — delighted, even — to regale my friends and colleagues and anyone else who cares to listen, with the comedy of errors that is this sorry excuse for a «repair» shop.
What a joke.

I needed a replacement ignition barrel for a 2003 Land Rover Disco…$ 800 and on back order…2−3 weeks from the UK.
As an alternative they dismantled the old/​damaged one and with care, lube, grinding, re-​installation and time they had me back on the road within the same day for just under $ 400. The Land Rover dealership and another mechanic specializing with older Land Rovers said… only option is replacement, $ 800 plus labour and taxes??? $ 500.

They’re expensive, over $ 100 for an oil change is high even if they do vacuum the car for you.
I’ve had good work done by them in the past but I stopped going there anymore. There was some misdiagnosed work that could have been fixed if they did it right, at least they didn’t do some work that didn’t need to be done.
Also I recommended them to a neighbor and she felt like they gave her the ‘female runaround’ which is why I’m not surprised by Greg. T’s story.
They seem like good people to me and I’ve had good experiences mostly but I don’t recommend them anymore.

My sister brought her 1990 Jetta in to diagnose the charging system since the alternator warning light was coming on sporadically. She asked the mechanic to give her a call with an estimate. The next call she received from this shop was to tell her that the car was ready and the bill was $ 500.
On the bill they had charged my sister to charge the battery, they charged $ 270 for a rebuilt alternator. This is double what she could have paid. Not impressed…

I went here last year for a tune up and oil change. I found their prices fair and they did good honest work. No pressure for unnecessary work like at mr lube across the street.

I’m thrilled with the honest and reliable service I get from these guys. I’ve referred many friends and colleagues to these guys over the years. Ron has been very helpful and provided thorough service without overcharging at all. They won’t suggest unnecessary work and have reasonable prices.

Blenheim was recommended to me for having good service and not ripping you off. My husband dropped off the car for a timing belt change. I picked it up at the end of the day and the guy working there was quite unfriendly. The inital quote was competitive at $ 1150, but when I went to pick it up, he said the total was $ 1270. I asked why and he said (1) he told my husband already that it was $ 1270 and (2) he did not know why because the person who worked on the car had left for vacation. I basically refused to pay it without an explanation.
After me calling my husband and him trying to reach the person who had just left on vacation, he still had no explanation other than «they charged the actual labour hours». However, he did give me a small discount on the labour, so it came to $ 1230. I just wanted to get out of there so I paid it.
I consider it to be common practice for them to phone you if it is going to be more than the intial quote and explain why. Apparently that is not the case at Blenheim. Plus the guy was just plain rude to me. He wouldn’t really answer any of my questions and I think he figured that because he told my husband the total (after being asked for it) and my husband didn’t question it, then I should not be questioning it either. Frankly, I felt a bit bait-​and-​switched and won’t be back!
