We came around 7pm on a Sunday night. A friend who grew up in Vancouver recommended this as the go-to spot for my boba craving. It wasn’t busy here at all(and this location is open much later than the other one, which closed at 6pm! At that friend’s suggestion, I got the Mango slush w/boba. I forgot to get it with mango chunks and was able to add it after the fact(and they charged the difference on my card). Very delicious! The mango is perfectly ripe and sweet, the slushy is thick but thirst-quenching, and the boba are chewy.

Probably one of the best bubble tea shops in town. Surprisingly not busy at all… I suppose it’s a new location and that the Richmond location wasn’t exactly very prominent other than word of mouth. Obviously a bit pricier than other bubbletea shops in the area(I.e. Dragonball) but the quality is good 10 fold more premium.

This location has had a few different incarnations over the last few years. I used to frequent it when it was Esquires Coffee. Since then the interior has not changed and the original coffee menu still prominently hangs above the bar. The bubble tea menu is actually off to the side where one could miss it if you weren’t looking for it. Ordered the mango tea with pearls and was surprised by how fresh the mango tasted. I can’t say the same for the pearls– they tasted a little stale which seems to be common when looking for good bubble tea. I’ll probably return just because its proximity to my home, but I don’t think that the superior Dragon Ball Tea up the street has anything to worry about it.

Went here after seeing it show up on the New Places on Unilocal.I’ve been to the Richmond location before and the drinks were great. This location follows the tradition. I had the Maltesers slush which was pretty good, but I think their best would be the Mango and the Ferrero Rocher bubble teas. As others have mentioned, the location looks like it’s still in the process of getting up and running. Boxes with equipment and furniture are in the common areas and signage is still a work in progress. I thought for a minute that they didn’t serve their trademark drinks since they weren’t on the signs. Instead, the menu for those drinks were tacked onto a notice board on the side where you get your sugar and cream for your coffee. Hopefully this will be remedied once they get completely up and running. I’ll definitely be coming back here again when I don’t feel like trekking it to Richmond for bubble tea and slushes!

Noticed this place a week or two ago, didn’t get around to trying it until last night. But… YAY… Another bubble tea option closer to home :) I ordered my favorite drink from Bubble Queen in Richmond, the mango flavoured mochi w/pearls. And I’m quite pleased to say the flavour is exactly the same :) only thing I would adjust is the size of the mochi… The ones here are a little too big for my straw. The texture was still good though. And like most people have mentioned… They’re still unpacking and boxes are literally stacked together in an obvious, but lonely corner. They’ve yet to offer bubble waffles(雞蛋仔). You can’t use your stamp cards from Richmond here… Apparently the owners for the Richmond location(save for one) didn’t invest into this new location. And they don’t have their own stamp cards yet. haha … I think it’s still in the process of being printed. Anyways…The staff here are super friendly. I’d probably go back later on and improve my rating for this place. I can see this place’s potential… It just needs more time to have everything set up :) Fact. UPDATE 1) there are fewer boxes around now 2) they’ve made their mochi smaller ^^(so it’s now possible to eat them along with the pearls) 3) stamp cards should be available in another 2 – 3 weeks 4) bubble waffle machines are on their way(hopefully soon) 5) they have a nice array of magazines to choose from

Saw this on the way to work and was super excited that they have one in Vancouver now!!! Yay I ordered their most popular Mango slush with mango chunks and pearls. It taste the same as the Richmond location. So glad. Now dragon ball closeby will definitely have some competition. I didn’t notice they have bubble waffles on their menu yet so couldn’t try it and compare. Maybe next visit they will have it available for me to try. But warning it just opened within the last month so there are still unopen furniture and set up not completely done yet. But staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back soon!!!

[Unfinished Business] I was really looking forward to coming here since it is the sister café to one in Richmond. Bubble Queen #2 occupies the space that was once Esquires coffee — of which I used to frequent. The interior remains unchanged — even to the point where the old coffee menus are still up on the walls. I doubt I could’ve gotten a double tall non-fat no whip mocha. For the time being, there was a 4-foot free-standing menu board off to the side which summarized all their diabetes-inducing offerings. After some time, I opted for the matcha slush and shared a mango-mochi icy plate. The matcha slush was good but I wasn’t feeling the icy plate. For starters, the ice wasn’t fluffy at all — they were more like little pebbles thay stuck together into larger ice chunks. I appreciate that they used fresh mango topped with ice cream but I couldnt get over the granulated ice. I managed to sample a friend’s mango slush which was quite good. I can’t really comment on ambience as they still had a few moving boxes around the place waiting to be unpacked. The café remains literally unchanged from before which isn’t a bad thing. There’s ample seating for 20 or so guests indoors and another 10 on the patio. I feel that Bubble Queen’s drinks are quite good but their dessert needs some tweaking. It’s in a convenient spot and fills a bubble tea niche in the neighborhood. I’d like to see the place once they’re fully done unpacking.

Came by last weekend and they were open. Still opening… But open. There were still boxes of furniture they had to unpack and all the décor is still the old coffee shop. Staff were friendly and patient as our out of town visitors scoured through the menu. If you’re looking for a liquid chocolate bar and don’t want to to go all the way to Richmond, Bubble Queen is here for you at the new location. Personally I prefer the mango chunks instead of diabetes in a plastic cup but your choice.
