Good and TASTY food. If you go to the subway next door instead of here, shame on you. You can get a full sized sandwich and soup(phở) for $ 9.25!!! The owner is always really sweet to us. She and her husband are cute. I usually get bubble tea as well. Yummmmmmmmmm

The food food is not the best in town but well worth the money. As for the service I know they try hard. Yesterday I went to pick up some food and i was chatting with the new owner while ordering. I told her what i do and where i work. I paid the bill, took the food and went home. When I opened up the bag half of my order was missing. I was a bit disappointed. I went to work this morning and the first person that walked through the door was one of the owner. He brought my food(fresh of course) with two extra sandwiches and apologize to me dozen times. My work is by Victoria Dr and 41st Ave so he have to take a bus down here. Because of this I know they are honest people and try their best. I’ll always give them my business when close by

So yeah, the tofu subs are delicious. I could eat them all the time. Literally. Since they are like $ 3 a pop. Nothing is that cheap in Vancouver and if it is, you can bet it is not good. Also, not sure why everyone is complaining about the service, I always thought they were just a lovely old couple. I mean come on, they run a sub store right next to subway that is cheaper and tastier. That the Subway is usually more busy just shows Vancouver does not deserve nice things.

If I could do a «no star» update, I would, for Carolina Deli and the new owners. I decided today was a great day for a bbq chicken skewer — overcast, greyish, just starting to rain. Two customers counting me at 2 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon — the other customer’s order was a takeout, totaling $ 72. Mrs New Owner told the other customer that it had been ten months since they took over the location. All this time I was ignored, even though I cheerfully greeted everyone. And Mrs New Owner was all smiles for the other person, even saying«I hope you come in every week.» Well, I hope that one customer comes in every week for you, as I won’t return. When I was finally served the chicken skewer, it was flung on the styro pan with nary an edible companion; no hot sauce, no sprig of coriander, nothing. A very lonely and rather ridiculous looking over cooked and underwhelming offering. There is better service in a prison facility(!) And with no napkin given, and none in the front of the shop, I was thinking I was going to have to wipe my mouth on the sleeve of my gorgeous kid mohair coat. Oh, the real kicker! Mrs. Owner took one chicken square off my skewer before serving it to me. And the other customer paid with a hundred dollar bill, which was eagerly accepted, while my fiver was given the full check out, as if the ink was still wet! So my new song is «Just Walk on By» — and keep going to the ever welcoming Seb’s or Rhizome. Dear New Owners; the old saw that you get 80% of your business from 20% of your customers is as old as that dried up bbq chicken!
