Came here for some drinks. Parking is crappy here, so try to come much later in the evening. The place was pretty packed, but the park-themed interior(overhanging branches and lantern-style lights made it feel like you were sitting at an outdoor patio restaurant in an urban park. One of the most convincing interiors I have seen in a long time. Special mention. This effect is especially noticeable on the mezzanine level. Special mention, and props to the interior designers. See pic. With that said, because of how packed the place is, group size should be limited to 6. As I did not eat, I cannot comment on the food, other than that it was a bit expensive side, which is unfortunately in line with many other Korean places in town. The dishes looked quite delicious though. My one complaint was that my friends and I were going for somaekol(Coke shot + soju shot + beer), but half the staff didn’t know what we were talking about, and we therefore had to explain, several times, as they also kept switching staff on us. No, I don’t need a glass of Coke, I need a can. no, I don’t need 4 bottles of soju. A bit frustrating to say the least, considering this drink is fairly popular in Korea, and was invented by them. Hence the 3 stars out of 4. Also 3 stars because of the priciness of the items. Come here for the atmosphere, and possibly for the food, but not for the bartending prowess.

We stumbled upon this place on a nice and clear fall Friday night as most other Korean places looked very packed and seemed like would have delicious food. The décor is interesting but it’s trying too hard. I’m sure installing fake cherry trees in the middle of the table must have taken a lot of work but not my cup of tea. Also seeing the cherry blossoms reminds me of Japan and not Korea. Also the bathroom was in a weird shape; the mirror is installed under a huge air duct, so you have to duck down to see your face. One of the perks of being on Robson street;) The servers were friendly buy having sat us downstairs meant that with door being open, I had to keep my jacket on. A little oversight if you ask me! The food was good and great value for your money. I ordered the BBQ skewers which has chicken, pork, chorizo sausage and shrimps. Although all cooked properly with spicy, sweet sauces there was no wow factor. My friend’s entrée however was a great value for the money; fried steak with garlic that was a big size with good quality meat. I’ll come back to this place because of the food but the ambience could be improved.

This place is a disappointment to most Korean cuisine in Vancouver. Don’t get me wrong, I love both Traditional and Fusion, like Sura or Jang Mo Jin, but this place lacks the Korean taste. My girlfriend and I had the noodle soup, which is just a «red hot sauce’ soup with«thown-in» seafood, and some appies. The seafood were not even cook enough for the hotness in Korean soup. The waitress suck at their job, the type with the young cutie face with no brain. We were so disappointed, we need to go somewhere else(Vancouver Fairmount Hotel) for drinks and snacks to make up for the night. Lucky we have a discount for Social Shoppers,

This place is a korean tapas restaurant, similar to the other korean tapas and drinking establishments near by(e.g. Damso, Chung dam an) but with better interior and comfortable seating. I could tell they put a lot of work as there was a giant cherry blossom tree in the middle of the restaurant. The service was great and the waitress was very polite even though her english wasn’t very good. But hey, it means this place is korean run and authentic. I ordered the seafood pancake($ 15), beer braised pork belly(~10) and the seafood Nu Rungji hot pot($ 19). The seafood Nu rungji Hot Pot(crusty fried rice in a seafood hot pot with a fish soup base) was delicious. Most restaurants cheap out and give you very few seafood and a lot of filler but they had plenty of shrimp and at least a dozen fresh mussels. The vegetables were very fresh as well. I was very impressed. This was the first time I’ve had crusty friend rice which is basically rice that has been seared in a pan so that it’s almost burnt. You break it into pieces and mix it with the soup. The beer braised pork belly came with a spicy lettuce salad and fried rice cakes. I’ve never had pork belly not fried of marinated in spice before so it was interesting. The texture was soft but I think I prefer pork belly with a little more flavour. The seafood pancake was my least favourite. It had shrimp, cuttle fish and vegetables but the I felt like it was a little bland. I also ordered a bottle of their Sochu Cocktail mixed with Yogurt. Delicious and slightly carbonated! I would definitely come back for their Hot pots and alcoholic drinks! Beware of portions because most of their dishes are big enough for two people! I had to take home a lot of food.

I’ve been here twice Both times we have received very good service, and tasty food I’d say the other review is an unfair representation Anyway, this place would be comparable to Damso. Pretty much Korean fusion, trendy place Banchan here is tasty… edamame beans.tofu.and of course kimchi. Speaking of the kimchi, it was really tasty Try the chicken skewers, and the bossam. Both were very good Yam fries are also pretty solid

After driving a gazillion times by this new establishment we decided to give it a try. The inside décor is very tastefully done with a massive cherry blossom tree in the middle of the restaurant with dark wood tables and chairs. Aside from the beauty of this place, everything else sucks(this is me being nice). They have a huge menu with 20 or so items devoted to «tapas». I got the«sleeping bags» which was described as a deep fried cabbage roll stuffed with pork, beef, and chorizo sausage stuffing. To my dismay there was no ‘chorizo stuffing’ only a salty hot dog weiner stuffed inbetween layers of sour kimchi cabbage and a crispy deep fried crust. The dish was so lackluster and the non existent flavours and toughness of all the meats would give it an immediate fail… The horseradish dip that came with it did little to enhance any flavours, if anything the dip was a negative contribution. Don’t order it. Also got the ‘fish cakes’ which were described to be Thai deep fried fish cakes served with a sweet chili sauce. The fish cakes that were served resembled anything but fish cakes. They were round puffed deep fried fish BALLS. Stay away from this dish as well. Last but not least the jalapeño poppers were the most edible thing out of the bunch. It also came with the same disgusting horseradish dip. Oh I almost forgot to mention that they LOVEEE to shower every dish with crispy yam chips… jeez I get that the chef might like them but it’s seriously excessive to be pouring loads of yam chips on every single dish. I also ordered the spicy marinated pork belly which was the only thing I was looking forward to, but after waiting for 45 minutes the pork belly was nowhere to be seen. I asked waitress number one to see when my order would be coming. She spoke very little english if any, blinked her synthetic beady eyes at me which much resembled tapioca balls(circle lenses I think shes wearing?) extremely confused about the words«pork belly» and echoed them back to me in her thick accent. Instead of going to the kitchen to check on the status she went to her computer touched a few things on the screen and walked off scratching her hair. Yes she was vigorously scratching her waist length hair and didn’t wash her hands and continued to carry out food. That’s the most unhygienic thing i’ve ever witnessed in a restaurant. So waitress number two(the one who initially took my order and insisted that EVERYTHING on the menu is good) comes over and tells me that she forgot to put in my order. Wow, I ordered four things, we’re not curing cancer over here how hard is it to put down four food items in a computer?! To kick things up a notch my bf asked for water three times and she only gave me water, although I did mention to her I was very hungover and through our entire stay she came over a hand full of times to ask me if I needed more water LOL. Don’t get me wrong she was very nice and kind hearted but dumb as nails, maybe shes inspiring to become a nurse? Anyways they claim to be a ‘korean-fusion’ restaurant *shudders* should’ve read that one before I walked in. I’m just hoping that I ordered all the wrong items and should have went for the more traditional korean dishes but we were feeling like tapas which the waitress insisted were ‘very good’ and pork belly which we did not get. But if their traditional dishes taste remotely like the tapas. I wish them well. I was thinking of packing up the untouched dishes to give to a bum, but honestly even a homeless person would be insulted if I gave them this food. This area has an influx of korean restaurants which provide much better fare for better prices as well. I felt like I paid $ 40 for jalapeño poppers since that was the only thing I could force myself to eat. This review is based on the tapas I had and the service on that day. No bueno.
