Specialties
CocoaNymph is a neighbourhood chocolate shop located at 10th and Alma in Vancouver. We hand craft our chocolates and confections in our chocolate studio. In our chocolate café you can sit and enjoy a premium espresso or loose leaf tea along with one of our premium truffles or chocolate bars.
History
Established in 2007.
The head CocoaNymph, Rachel Sawatzky, began her journey into chocolate creation in 2002. She had a lifelong passion for baking and would often try out new recipes on her friends. As a student, taking her bachelor in science with the plan to attend medical school, she was, like most students, broke. With only $ 80.00 to her name and Christmas right around the corner, she was desperate. Deciding to invest her remaining cash into chocolate supplies, Sawatzky hoped to make and sell 300 chocolate and sea salt truffles. The bonbons were so successful that Sawatzky ended up making and selling over 3000! Long story short — the entrepreneur later stepped away from academia for good and launched her new career as a Chocolatier. She honed her skills all over North America for 5 years before moving to Vancouver and opening CocoaNymph, where she is pleased to share her knowledge with you.

Rachel began her journey into chocolate in 2002. As a student, taking her bachelor in science focusing on microbiology with the plan to attend medical school, she was, like most students, broke. With only $ 80.00 to her name and Christmas right around the corner, she was desperate. Deciding to invest her remaining cash into chocolate supplies, Sawatzky hoped to make and sell 300 chocolate sea salt truffles thereby giving her some extra cash to buy Christmas presents. Her chocolates were so successful that Sawatzky ended up making and selling over 3000 pieces! Long story short — the entrepreneur later stepped away from academia for good and launched her new career as a Chocolatier. She went on to train at Ecole Chocolat and the Barry Callebaut Chocolate Academy, and interned at two of North America’s finest chocolatiers. She honed her skills for 5 years before moving to Vancouver and opening CocoaNymph, where she is pleased to share her knowledge with you.
