Coffee A Go Go Coffee House

The fact that there is a bad review about this place is insane. The sandwhiches tehre are HUGE the service is SO friendly and the prices are better than most other places nearby.
This place is closed now though as the owner has a new baby. What is the name of the new place?!

What the heck is with the name? It sounds like there should be dancers or something!
But alas… I was drawn in by the sign listing a bunch of interesting sounding sandwich options. I hadn’t really given this place much thought before — even though I pass by frequently. I should have just kept on walking.
The menu board had all the different sandwich options listed and said, «All sandwiches come with chips or salad.»
I ordered one of the combo sandwiches, and as I was ordering I noticed they have the option to add soup for about $ 1.50 more. So I did. After answering the barrage of questions about what type of bread, etc. I sat down and awaited my food.
It arrived as a small little sandwich and a small cup of soup. I then realized they never asked me if I wanted chips or a salad and I asked about the salad. He replied, «Oh, no. If you do the soup upgrade there is no salad.» WTF!!!
He didn’t apologize or try to make things right by giving me some greens and explaining that the menu needs to be fixed or something.
So the sign that says all sandwiches come with your choice of chips or salad, and then lists a price to add-​on soup should actually say, «Add on soup for $ 1.50 + giving up your salad.» Argh.
Fine. I know it is a technicality, but when I saw how small the sandwich was, I really could have used the salad. I felt tricked.
On top of that the sandwich itself was supermarket quality bread and meat. I could have gone to the supermarket, purchased bread and some pre-​packaged deli meat and called it a day.
I have a deal for the owner of this spot. For just $ 1.50 more you can have a bad Unilocal review and a customer. Since you’ve already got the bad Unilocal review I should make it clear you no longer have a customer. You gave that up for the bad Unilocal review — and keeping a salad from the customer.
I won’t return. Ever.

You know what I like? Sandwiches. You know when I like them? Now. You know how I like them? Affordable.
That was my segway into Coffee A Go Go. The reason I came here was the extensive list of sandwiches on their (ironically enough…) sandwich board outside. It covers both sides of the board and describes about 10 delicious sounding sandwiches. Just a quick warning, you wont find any more hidden sandwiches listed inside, but who cares!
It’s very unassuming on the street and super easy to miss, especially because you just passed Fritz and Numero Uno and Mr. Sub if you were looking for a quick lunch fix, but the inside is nice and relaxing with some big comfy seating. Not a lot, but enough to make you want to chill there.
I do believe I went for the «Davie», a turkey, cranberry, cream cheese sort of deal which came with a side of salad. The bread was delicious and if not made there fresh, it was damn near. And the sandwich definitely hit the spot. If I recall it was about $ 5.50 and it was service with a smile.
They have lots of delicious looking pastries and little extras that I’m dying to go back and try and I am also going back to work my way around Vancouver through their «Stanley Park» and other location name bases sandwiches.
It’s only open till about 6pm most nights so its definitely a lunch or day time coffee place. And although their open on Sundays, don’t try to come here on a Saturday! Not open! It has broken my heart more than once.
Also, I hear the coffee is amazing and despite not really drinking coffee, I might just have to check that out too…
