The GOOD: There’s free 2hr parking under the mall. The BBQ duck noodle in soup is my current favourite. Their pan fried beef noodle dish is also pretty decent. The BAD: I wish they had better lunch combo options(like a lunch combo with a free drink). The OKAY: I miss Daisy Garden. I miss the Soy Sauce Chicken at Daisy Garden. It’s not bad here, but because there aren’t a lot of options in the area for Chinese BBQ lunch, I’ve had to get my Soy Sauce Chicken fix here. It’s not the same, but it’ll have to do. * Debit & Cash only

Lured here by my friend with the promise of large portions. Not that much seating but probably more than you think since the entrance is tight before you get to the«back room». Portions are actually just OK for price since most of it is made up of cheap carbs. Special Egg Foo Young($ 14) –Menu doesn’t say, but it contains BBQ pork slices and shrimp. –Shrimp were big. BBQ pork was tasteless. –Portion weak for $ 14 but you are probably paying for the shrimp. –I was initially told it was a mix of seafood and shellfish. It was NOT. And they did NOT give me the correct info until AFTER the dish arrived. WTH? BBQ Duck with Rice($ 9 for big plate) –Waste of money. Duck had basically no meat, no tasty fat. You are just getting skin plus the rice it’s sitting on. No.69 Hot Chili Minced Pork with Noodle($ 7.50) –The menu says«Cold Meat» but the meat was hot. Huh? Still, the server insisted what he brought was correct. –Not spicy-hot at all. Sauce tasted like that tomato sauce from canned sardines.(No, I’m not joking). To make your food more palatable, use the condiments. I tried the reddish vinegar and the oily chili, which was weakly spicy-hot, so use lots to get any flavour going. Don’t let my review actually dissuade you from going — just don’t order what I ordered. The menu is pretty big. They must do something right.

Been here 4 times in less than a month — that says something! Still getting the 四寳饭 as my go to(BBQ pork, soy chicken, and roast pork with a salted egg on a platter of rice for $ 11.50). I usually can’t finish it and take the rest home. I also get a side of plain veggies with oyster sauce too. I heard the congee is pretty good but never got around to trying anything else… being a creature of habit and all. Give it a try. Free 2hr parking under which is a bonus. I usually come here for dinner and then go to T&T to get groceries before heading home.

The fallback BBQ place after nearby Daisy Garden(«Kam Gok Yuen») burned down this year. This is on the eastern Pender entrance of the mall, and is primarily a congee noodle place, although their roasted ducks lined up in the display case of the open kitchen are awfully tempting. I had roast duck and BBQ pork on a bowl of rice. The price point is about $ 1 – 2 higher than I would expect from similar restaurants. The BBQ meats tasted authentic, although the meat: fat ratio was a bit too low to be considered a high-quality joint. Chili sauce was standard. The rice today was undercooked uniformly to 80%(«slightly crunchy») which may be good for making fried rice but is lacklustre to serve as is for any Chinese restaurant. Add more water, please! Due to long lunch lineups of elderly Chinese folks, I think it is overall worth another look.

Stopped in for a bite while running errands. Congee was great! Had the fish congee and it was really good. My friend had the wonton noodles in soup. She said it was great. Lots of shrimp in the dumplings. Service is fast and friendly. They have an extensive menu so I’m going to have to try more items the next time I’m here. Highly recommended

Was not disappointed at all at this authentic Chinese restaurant! It’s in the International Mall with the Cineplex Odeon theater. We ordered half a roast duck, roasted pork with the crispy skin, congee, beef chow fun, Chinese broccoli and rice all for $ 46CD! We even took home leftovers! This is 3 people eating too. Service is very fast & friendly. Definitely recommend!

I ordered the noodle soup with roasted pork; the one with the crispy skin. It was delicious. My friend ordered the noodle soup with bbq duck and that great, too. We were not disappointed with our order. Each of our bowls included some leafy green.

Tried the curry beef and wonton noodles and was pretty disappointed. I worry about tourists thinking this is representative of Vancouver Chinese food because it isn’t. Hopefully they’ll read this feedback and try to improve.

So happy they finally opened up a place closer to downtown! Whenever I’m craving a hearty bowl of congee or wonton noodles, this is my number one go to. Great service, good prices and delicious food!

Went there for lunch today. It’s an offshoot of Congee Noodle House on Broadway, so similar menu, prices and quality. Overall solid choice on the outskirts of Chinatown. Since Daisy Garden(Kam Gok Yuen) burned to the ground a while back, I’m especially glad this place is here to provide(ironically) a decent Chinese food option in Chinatown.
