Dueck on Marine

I brought my 2007 Chevy here as my check engine light came on. After a scan it was determined that it was my throttle position sensor malfunctioning. My car was still under warranty so they fixed it no problem. Not even a year later the same thing happened! Brought it in and they replaced it under parts warranty. You guessed it the next year my check engine light came back on. Brought it in again and lo and behold it was my throttle position sensor once more except this time it had been 1 year and 2 months since the last replacement and it was no longer under parts warranty. How the exact same part they keep «fixing» my car with keeps breaking is beyond me. I ended up having to pay for this repair. And after it was all done they said that a cover was missing on it and they replaced that at «no charge» for me. Haven’t had an issue since and it makes me wonder if this cover was the reason. I will never be bringing my car back to this place.

Worst place to go by far. My car got broken into and the window was smashed out, so it got booked in here. They gave me a rental car and the guy who looked it over for damages took less than half a minute to look it over. It was in my possession for a week and when I took it back the guy was on all fours going through every nook and cranny. He found a dent under the passenger side door which was so minimal I might add. He blamed it on me hitting a curb… I tried to explain to him I never hit anything with the car… He priced out the damage to be $ 800. My boyfriend is a level 3 mechanic and says if I had hit a curb there would be more damage to the little car they rented me out. My boyfriend had said he seen damage like that before and says it looks a lot like hoist damage. I know for a fact I never hit any curbs in the rental car… And I honestly believe they took advantage of me because I am a woman and I am also young. I’m in school and working a part-​time job making close to minimum wage. Paying for everything myself… So losing money that went towards «damages» hurt a lot. I’m still recovering from it… And I am more than sure they were able to pay for damages out of their pocket, so I don’t know why they would pin it on me. Steer clear of this place.

My husbands VW Passat was due for an oil change due to the mileage, but VW was busy and wanted us to book for a week in advance, so we decided to come here instead for better service.
First off, amazing customer service! They did the oil change and a tire rotation, but while rotating the tires they noticed a nail in one of them. Mladen one of their mechanics notified us right away and patched it up. The process was fast and super affordable. We will definitely be coming back for our next service!

Turns out this was a coolant leak and vehicle needed a new pump. Repairs were done to satisfaction. It is felt this issue should have been detected when vehicle was first brought in. However staff were apologetic and did the most to make me happy

DO NOT USE FOR REPAIRS!
I brought my old Buick for repairs to a broken door handle. After a quote of close to $ 300,
I declined the repair, but was charged $ 165 for the diagnosis. I was not informed that there is a a charge for diagnosis at the time I requested the repair or when declining. The charge was presented to me only when reclaiming the car. Upon protestation, the charge was reduced to $ 108.90, including $ 9.90 for misc. supplies, for a service which was not done.
I subsequently took the car to my local garage which repaired it for about $ 160.

I have been buying all my tires from the Dueck Michelin shop for years. The tires are the best. The service is excellent. There is a nice café in which to wait. Dueck rotates my tires and changes from summer to winter at no extra cost. Prices are standard. I’m happy.

Worst place i’ve been. Salesmen i dealt with was great, but the sales manager «Ian» was a complete goof, condescending and rude. He upset my wife and we ended walking out of there. We’ve heard stories of that sales manager (Ian) and how people have walked out on him and refused to deal with him completely.

This review is strictly directed to my recent experience with Dueck on Marine’s BODY SHOP. I purchased my 2014 Silverado from Kurtis at Dueck on Marine a few months ago and had a great sales experience with him. However I recently had a hit and run on the truck and decided to bring it back to Dueck since they have a bodyshop right at the dealership. Previously I have been to Automind Collision in Squamish and Vancouver and had a great experience with them.
The truck was originally dropped off and the repair time for scratch and dent damage to one side of the box was five days. Originally I was told they would try and have a courtesy truck available for the week. When I got there, they did not have a truck and offered me a mid-​size sedan. For someone who works with a truck, a mid-​size sedan just simply does not do the job. To add to this, the courtesy car was an old Chevy Malibu that was in poor running condition. Throughout the week I received no updates on the truck until I called them. They told me that they couldn’t connect to the phone number I left, even though the manager after subsequent visits had no trouble reaching me. They did fix the truck within the week by Friday evening, but there were a few obvious imperfections in the paint. I spoke with the manager of the body shop, Eric, who took note of them. He said that they would be able to try a quick fix to polish the area, and if that did not work they would re-​spray it. However, this would have to wait until a later date as no one was around the shop still that would be able to fix it. This was around 4:00pm. I booked in a new appointment in two weeks time. Total days at the shop: 5
I found some time the next week and took it in to get looked at with no promise of the quick fix working, but they would try it. They did try it but were unsuccessful and I was told to bring it back again for the original appointment and it would be two days to re-​spray it. Total days at the shop: 6
When scheduling the third attempt I was told that the original sprayer was on leave and would not be back for a few days, therefore my appointment might be pushed back. They said that they had a large backup of painting because they only had one sprayer. This seemed rather unaccommodating as I was coming back in for them to fix their mistake. Shouldn’t fixing their own mistakes take some priority? I came back for the third time to get re-​sprayed and this time I was provided with an SUV thankfully. The manager Eric continued to do a decent job to keep me happy on site during these issues and was very polite. However, once again I received no updates until 4:15pm the day it was to be picked up. I was informed that the wrong decal had been shipped by GM and that it would arrive until the following day. I told them that they could just take the other decal off and I would pick it up that day. They agreed to do this but told me that they might not be able to get it cleaned properly that day as no one would be around would could do it. This was rather hard to believe that after coming in for the second time to fix their mistake, and being more than accommodating with the decal shipping issue, that they could not give the truck a proper wash before picking up because no one would be there.
So I accepted that I would have to give my truck a proper wash because at this point I just needed it back. I went to pick it up and received no walk through this time of the work they had performed, and was just simply handed my keys back. As I was unloading my equipment from the courtesy vehicle back into the truck, a salesman had pulled up in front of my truck and was unable to pass through. The parking area for the shop has very limited space, but I was simply parked for a quick unload of the courtesy vehicle. He came out and informed me in a less than polite manner that he needed to get through because he just sold this truck and the mechanics needed to work on it before bringing it to the customer. I told him to hang on a second as I finished unloading. A young man from the body shop had come out at this time to help me unload and told me not to worry about him and helped me finish unloading. However the salesman began to honk at me quickly after and began yelling at me from the vehicle he was pulling through.
With all due respect to this salesman, I had also purchased a very similar truck just a few months prior and was almost finished loading it back up for the third time after this same dealership had failed to provide adequate work and service. Overall I was amazed by the lack of service and professionalism that the body shop provided. Even after coming back multiple times to have their mistake fixed, I continued to receive less than accommodating service that was all topped off by being honked at by one of the salesmen. Total days at the shop: 8.

Do not have your car repaired here! Much like other reviews, they will make unnecessary and/​or unauthorized repairs (with out consulting you). beware.

Thanks for your quick reply Stu. It’s nice to see these comments are actually looked at. Unfortunately my views and others here are similar and ruined it seems. I just hope you take our comments and especially customer time more seriously. And just because a big box store is successful in car sales doesn’t mean it can handle the many demands and responsibilities of being a good auto shop requiring customer service, quality workmanship and management working together. Perhaps ALL three missing here???
Customers just want: appointments to be honored (I left work without pay and my time is valuable too!) greeted when you arrive, communication, no surprises, relax in a quiet lobby & maybe some water. It’s simple stuff actually. I don’t expect «freebies» as good quality service really stands for itself over the years. Good auto shops don’t really need to clean your car or give you a free oil change to bring you back hitting you up with an epic bill when you least expect it to recover for it? I don’t wish to contact you, or be sold on what could be «future good service» Truth is I expected good service going in once, was disappointed, and it’s hard to change anyone’s first impression. I will do business elsewhere, but please make staff aware to make clients happy. Isn’t that what it’s about? Customer satisfaction? Happy clients equals better business, and better business equals more money. Let’s face it that’s what your in it for, the money. So do yourself and your customers a favour and look at how to improve. In the end everyone wins!
I believe big box auto services days in buiness are numbered. Because bigger does not at all mean better customer care and quality car services for your car.

I bought my truck from a great salesman here (greg) who was honest, normal and a non pressure salesman. Came with all sorts of benefits including free oil, lube and filter changes for life. I come here for oil changes every 4 months ish and they wash my car for me for free as well. I am a fan: D

you fixed my car but it cost me moiré than my deductible should have and 140 more dollars in rental fees than i was supposed to pay considering my rental should have been covered by my warranty i explained to the rep on both ends at service «Who asked his supervisor to solve the issue and was denied» and avis to my issue to no avail. SIMPLY I’M DISGUSTED

I have been officially ripped off!!!
After trusting this dealership ensured everything was fully checked out and inspected I was told everything was in good condition. I bought our Odyssey minivan from them not even two months ago and have now found the tires are basically bald and the brakes need to be done. What a sleazy used car bucket shop!
I even dealt with the GM directly when trying to barter the price who went so far to say his close friend owned the car and the fender bender on record was a «header» into the bumper during football practice and that the car is in mint shape so no further discounts would be given. Now I am seriously questioning the history and mechanical shape of this vehicle. It’s not great to have a sick feeling in your stomach after this horrible experience. Wasn’t sure why I had never heard of this dealership before, but now I know why. I’ll be sure to pop by sometime and give them a piece of my mind.

never reapair you car here!!! did an oil change and repaired a burn light bulb in my cadillac… holly crap!!! nearly $ 300 … they mention around 150, when i got there they said they had to fix this and that… shouldn’t you have called me first to ask if i agree with those ”necessary” repairs??? NEVER go to their mechanic section… way better and cheaper mechanic places in surrey…

Darren, a know-​it-​all that knows nothing sales person is to be avoided at all costs. Talked him and his dealership out of a sure sale of pre-​owned Mercedes S600.
It’s deeply troubling that a sales person can think everybody is dumber than him, be so offensive and annoying and keep a job at a high profile dealership like Dueck.
The sales manager was a much better person who tried to save the sale with decent persona, but it was too late. The damage was done.
