Eiko Management & Travel

This review is for a package tour I booked for a trip to Japan to attend the Tokyo Auto Salon Convention back in 2005. For $ 1370 (tax included) the package consisted the following:
— Round Trip airfare to Japan from SFO
— Complimentary transporation between airport and hotel
— 4 night hotel accommodations
— Daily buffet breakfast
— Entrance fees to «Tokyo Auto Salon»
— Tokyo sightseeing and shopping tours
— Tokyo club hopping and partying
— English speaking tour escort guide
Booking with Eiko was really easy. Our agent, Jim took care of everything for me and my cousin from the paperwork to payment. When we arrived in Japan, we were able to find our tour group easily. We were then shuttled to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the Ikebukuro district (about 45 minutes from Tokyo Narita airport) to check-​in to our hotel. Afterwards, we went to have dinner as a group at a Shabu-​Shabu restaurant to get acquainted with.
For five days, we got to venture around Tokyo city and part of the outskirts. Jim and our English speaking tour guide took us to Akihabara (electronic goods district), Meiji Shrine, Asakusa, Ginza, Rippongi, and other areas within the vicinity. We also went to the convention center outside of Tokyo to attend the Tokyo Auto Salon (a must to experience for import car enthusiasts). When we had time to venture on our own, we got to learn how to take the subways and trains to different districts courtesy of Jim. My cousin and I had a blast venturing on our own at times — being independent and trying out the different routes in the city. I ended up going gaga over the food there and shopping at various shops in Shibuya, Ginza, and the Harajuku district.
Even if the package was only a short five days, it turned out to be one of the best trips I have ever taken, not to mention, the most fun. It’s like having a UYE to Tokyo with a bunch of Unilocalers. Our tour group consisted of 37 people within the range of twenty to thirty-​somethings from parts of Canada (Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton, etc.) and the United States (LA, SF, Chicago, Texas, etc,.). My cousin and I were the only two people representing the SF Bay Area. Over the course of the trip, we became friends with the people in the group (some we still manage to keep in touch with).
We got to see a lot and do a lot. I defintely plan on coming back to Japan again. My experience with Eiko travel was great and hassle free that I plan to book with them again in the future.
