Carma was perfect! Had a pricey but well done wax. I will be back!

I thought this place would be a step up from the $ 30 pedicure places that barely train their staff — it looked cute, they featured good products and the prices were higher, but not as high as high end spas. The pedicure I got was very average, in fact, I could have done it myself. And the service wasn’t much better — I wasn’t offered a drink and was basically ignoredthe entire time. Not a great experience, I wouldn’t go back.

Always been great when I need an appointment, Carma is a fantastic waxer! Reasonable prices, and a good location on The Drive.

I’ve been going to Flaming June for years now. Their prices are fair and I’ve always had excellent services(mostly waxings). Ella /Ellie and Carma are excellent. Always friendly and fast. Not sure what other posters mean because the above mentioned aestheticians have all been with the spa for years. It’s an old character building, just like the neighbourhood. If you’re looking for the sparkling yaletown feel then this may not be the place for you.

I recently purchased a voucher from WagJag for Flaming June. I received an ‘express’ facial. Now, I don’t know the difference between a bad facial and a good one, so I can’t compare this to anything else. Grace, the girl that did my facial was gentle and quiet. 2 things I like about people who work at a spa. She did a face mapping of all the products she used and also the problem areas on my face. Though, a day after my facial, my face must be hating life because it’s retaliated on me. But I think that maybe the facial was a way to bring out all the bad stuff before it can get good? See, I don’t know. One thing I did dislike, was that you could hear everything in the spa. It’s in an old house, so everything creaks loudly. There is a also a woman that works there that is very heavy footed. That was not calming at all ;) Also, it was REALLYCOLD. And so I left most of my clothes on. Plus it’s a facial, not a massage so I thought it was alright. Also, the Dermalogica kit I bought(which is very nice), is cheaper online. I should have done my research before I bought it, though I did get a 15% discount. All in all, a good experience that took 45 minutes.

Like most spas in Vancouver, it really depends on who you get as your massage therapist. I have only been to a couple of places in my life where all of the massage therapists were consistently amazing. That being said, I used my Groupon here to check out a couple of therapists, to see if I got anyone I really like, and mission accomplished! I love love love Carma, she was very relaxing but also worked out all the«problems» I have in my back. I would recommend this place if you are OK with a no-frills day spa.

I have been visiting Flaming June for years, and have always had great service. Today I visited for a facial, and really liked the professional yet warm esthetician. I had lost my gift certificate purchased before Christmas and the front desk clerk(an older gentleman who always seems to be there) really went out of his way to find record of it. Great service. I was led to a relaxing room and felt really calm and comfortable throughout the whole experience. I also like the Dermalogica products that they use, but at no point did i feel pressured to buy anything. A few notes: — The Eastern European woman is a great waxer — I cannot remember her name, but she is efficient, quick and ruthless! — I agree with a previous review — the staff turnaround does seem high! — Take advantage of their VIP program — you save 10 to 20 dollars on most treatments for an annual fee of 20 bucks — no brainer! All in all, I recommend Flaming June for its classy yet laid back atmosphere, its great prices and convenient location. However, I do wish they had a more consistent staff.

I came here because it was the only place I could book last minute, and I really wish I had tried harder to find somewhere else. The bikini wax wasn’t done thoroughly at all, and was totally unpleasant — I had to ask the woman to do it again after taking a quick look, and had to request some sort of cream afterwards, otherwise she wouldn’t have put anything on as a soother. As well, she was blasting Nickleback the whole time — I don’t exactly go to get bikini waxes to relax, but this was as far removed from a pleasant experience as I could get. The facial was totally horrible as well — it claimed to include a «massage», which was less than a minute rub on my shoulders. She used dermologica products, which I’m sure are great quality, but didn’t ask me anything about my skin type, and what she used was way too oily for my skin. As well, she painted on a facemask wafer-thin, with a paintbrush that smelled like wet dog, and left me in the room for 10 minutes smelling it. Finally, I had forgotten to remove my mascara before arriving, and asked her to remove it. Instead, she just put wet cotton pads on my eyes and left them there, causing my makeup to run into my eyes and sting them quite badly. To add insult to injury, the whole thing cost me as much as it would have to go to a lovely day spa that I might have actually enjoyed. I won’t be going back to Flaming June Day Spa again.

I thought I would give this place a second chance as a friend wanted to plan a stagette and this was the place she chose. I had had bad service there in the past. but what the hell? They didn’t deserve it. I usually pay about 30 dollars for a perfect pedicure at my favorite nail bar. I paid about 45 dollars here and the pedicure was terrible. One should not have to pick nail polish off their toes when they get home in my opinion. They were nice enough but if you want to charge spa prices you have to give the service and they did not.

I come here for waxings primarily. Originally, I really liked this spa. However I have noticed that there are many different workers, and I often get completely new ones – perhaps there is high turnover? This is a disadvantage in terms of waxings because it’s nice to get somebody you’re used to. Of course, I also never found an aesthetician that was so good I wanted to stick with her every time. What I think has been the death knell of my patronage here is that their wax smells dreadful – like an overpowering musty perfume. I have to wash all my clothes when I get home, and sometimes the smell gets into my coat, or my bed. Gah. Also, the spa is quite cluttered. On the upside, just about everyone I’ve had there has been very nice and skilled, it’s not too funky or spartan, and there are a lot of different choices in terms of treatments. By basic spa standards, I think they’re doing well, if not extraordinarily. But not when it comes to the wax.

I had a facial at Flaming June. At first I was a little critical. The décor is nice but not upscale. The phone has a loud ringer that can be heard from anywhere in the main building. Little details like that break the atmosphere a little bit. However, the staff was nice, friendly, and attentive. They answered all my questions and were informative. It was incredibly relaxing and nice. In addition they gave out small samples of some of their products and a skin car analysis. Pricing was average.

This was my first professional massage. We had our massages in their cute little cottage on the side. The massage was so relaxing and amazing. The incense and the music paired perfectly with the massage. The staff is really friendly. They were really sweet to my significant other at the time during his mani bc he was obviously very uncomfortable. The only reason why I didn’t give them a perfect score is that the manicure I got here wasn’t done correctly. I would definitely return to this place for a massage if I happen to be in the area.
