Best spicy salmon sashimi in downtown Van! Friendly and quick staff, well priced and always fresh and tasty.

I went in there because there were options for me as I have dietary restrictions. They accommodated all my needs. Very easy to order, choose a base — rice, noodles or salad, then choose your toppings and sauce. Friendly service and clean environment all under $ 10.

Bumped up to 4 stars! I love the change in menu and the portions have definitely increased! Everything is organic, and you also get the option of gluten-free /vegan /vegetarian. Love the attitude of the owner and the staff.

I agree with Scott B, get the roti! I love it, and am similarly addicted. I am pleased with the change they made in their menu in the past year. They used to have a small menu of set noodle and rice bowls, but now they do a more«create your own dish» style where you pick your noodle(or rice), pick your sauce, and pick your protein. This is great because it really allows for tweaking things to be just as you like them (of course, I usually just build something similar to a mie goreng by having thick noodles, stir fry sauce, and then whatever meat I feel like — it is delicious) The owner and staff are all nice, and they are very quick in preparing the food. Sadly, the atmosphere is more suited to fast lunches and takeout than a cozy dine in feeling, so I always get my food to go.(though it is clean and bright in the restaurant, just not cozy) This place is one of my go-to’s when I’m in the mood for some delicious noodles.(and roti!)

I ordered the Singapore laksa and Penang red curry for takeout. Fresh Bowl has definitely gone down hill. They gave me lots of veggies and noodles but barely any soup. They measure everything when you pick up. I’ve had the laksa before and remember liking it. It’s definitely not good anymore… lacking flavour. The Penang curry was the worse meal I have ever eaten. It wasn’t even curry. I was more like a soup. Again, a lot of rice was given but barely any«curry». I would not recommend fresh bowl. Over priced for horrible food. This will be my last time here.

This place is simple and tasty. The chicken pad thai with flat noodles is delitious. We ate here 3 times during a trip to Vancouver because it was consistent and convenient.

GETTHEROTI!!! It is amazing. So glad I found this place. The chicken satays are also fantastic. The sauces are made fresh in house and the owner is the nicest guy in the world. Will definitly back as I live across the road and addicted.

I first started eating Fresh Bowl at the Gastown location. The Thai Green Curry and Mee Goreng are my favorites! The food is well-made, fresh, flavourful, and quick. Always veggie options. It’s an excellent choice if you are on the go, or if you have time to sit. They have slightly changed the menu now, where you can select all your options instead of it being made for you. It adds a nice touch if you want to experiment. You can also tell them your favourite prior to the change and they will make it for you. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is always clean and bright. I would definitely recommend it.

Great food for the price in yaletown. The manager of the place is very friendly and he always greets everyone that enters with a smile. Make sure that when you order takeout that you are ordering from the right location. It is very easy to order from the other fresh bowl in Vancoucer and I have done that a few times in the past

Love this spot for lunch, it’s always busy for a reason! The staff is very friendly and fast. It is a smaller space so if you have a party of 4 or more it can be hard to get tables all together. I’ve tried almost all their curry rice bowls and noodle bowls, my favourites are the Singapore laksa and Penang red curry for those who like some spice. They also have a hibiscus shaken tea which is very refreshing and caffeinated! They are made the night before and the sugar syrup is added when it’s made so you can’t have it sugar-free. For those who can’t do carbs they have very nice salads. My coworker always orders the temple salad, good portion and will fill you up. Highly recommend this place for lunch!

Our office ordered take out from here today. I ordered the Penang Red Curry rice bowl. I’ll give them points for actually keeping the rice and the curry separate for take-out, but that’s it. The rice was ok. However, the curry was not curry at all. I got a bowl of red broth with a few pieces of chicken and broccoli in it. Seeing the other curries that were ordered, more of the same… rice with a bowl of broth.

Food is always awesome at Fresh Bowl. Service however can improve. Not that the girl taking our order was rude, she was just blunt. Yes and no answers with little else. That being said, I’ll still come back.

Excellent concept in an ideal location! How could these people F— it up so badly? Looking to add new restaurants to my Unilocal account I made my friend join me for dinner at the Fresh Bowl on Pacific. I said to him I walk by this place a lot and it’s always busy. It can’t be bad! He wanted to go to Little Saigon but we ended up at Fresh Bowl! First off it’s a bit pricy for what they serve. I ordered the Prawn Ramen. For $ 10 the quantity of food was snack size. Hardly a meal! The soup with my dish was lukewarm and lacking in flavor. The prawns tasted funny! I ate 2 of the prawns and said to myself I better not eat any more. You get that feeling that these prawns were just not right. If you attempt to finish them all you’re going to be sick tomorrow! They had a really fishy strong flavor. It’s like sushi if you can taste a strong fishy flavor in your sushi you better not eat it! This is the first time I’ve given a restaurant a 1 star, but this place deserves it! Next time I’m looking for a good bowl of Ramen I’ll stay home rather than come to Fresh Bowl. There is just nothing Fresh about it!

Worst Panang ever! Calling it the McDonalds of noodles would be too generous. Small portion of thin, tasteless broth with chicken tossed in at the end. This is one of the worst meals I’ve eaten in Vancouver. A supermarket frozen dinner would’ve been better. I’ll cross the street to avoid this place.

This place is a must go when I am out in Yaletown for an appointment. It is always filling and fresh and delicious. I could write an overworded tale about why I love coming here but the short version, is that it is fantastic. Fresh ingredients, fast service, good food and great location. I highly suggest it.

I feel badly that I’m rating this with only 2 stars because the proprietor«Tommy» was so attentive and persuasive. I’m not sure if everyone gets special treatment or if I was particularly attractive that day, but as soon as I walked in, Tommy, the owner, began chattering with me and offered me a taste of each of his curries. I think I would have bought something had he not been there, but after trying each of the curries, I felt like I was obligated to actually buy something! So, I chose one of the darker red curries, with meat(can’t remember if it was beef or lamb), and as Tommy was raving about his roti canai, I just had to try an order of that too. The meal was ok, and the roti canai was too oily to eat. The prices were over the moon high for the quality and the atmosphere which is fast food. Anyway, it was nice to meet Tommy, a seemingly fine fellow, and it was a nice gesture to offer me a coconut pudding to replace the roti that I didn’t like — but I didn’t really like the pudding either.

Wow, not a lot of love for Fresh Bowl on Unilocal! That’s too bad. They’re not the most exciting Malaysian café, but they’re certainly not terrible. Depending on what you order, the food is quite tasty. Unfortunately, the curries can be bland… but that’s why you have to know what to order and take Fresh Bowl in context of the neighbourhood it’s in. You see, I work in Yaletown and if you want to grab a quick lunch, the options get stale pretty quickly. You either splurge at a Cactus Club type place, you raid the Urban Fare deli, or you get a boring sandwich to eat back at your desk. Fortunately, the food at Fresh Bowl offers something different from the typical Yaletown scene, and that’s why I like it. Would I travel from across town to eat at Fresh Bowl? No. But for a worktime lunch, it’s great. While I typically order their food to go, today I decided to sit inside, as it’s a nice change of pace from eating in my office. They have a bright, modern interior, relatively quick and friendly service, and enough choice on the menu so you’re not bored. The menu consists of Malaysian curry rice bowls, salads, and some traditional favourites like laksa and roti canai. Today I ordered the yellow curry(something I almost never order, as I’m a fan of spicy curries), and it was fine. Served on jasmine rice with carrots, broccoli and free range chicken, it was topped with fresh bean sprouts(which I find refreshing). The creamy yellow curry was mild, as to be expected. Nothing exciting, but comforting nonetheless. The Roti Canai is heavier than similar Malaysian rotis I’ve had in the past, and the curry sauce is extremely mild, but it’s still a delight to eat — almost like a flattened croissant, buttery and flakey, fresh from the griddle. The Temple Salad is probably my favourite of them all. They serve tofu and fresh mango on a bed of greens with fresh bean sprouts, crispy onions, and a tahini dressing. It’s a beautiful, fresh, healthy, flavourful combo, and I highly recommend it. Fresh Bowl? There are certainly worse lunch options in Yaletown and I don’t think they deserve the bad rap. This ain’t a traditional/authentic Malaysian restaurant, so if you set your expectations, you may be pleasantly surprised. I come here maybe once every month or every two months, and that seems to suit me fine.
