Cheap pre-made sushi and other random Japanese snacks and drinks. It’s not good, but it’s cheap and more affordable than the other places in the area.

Prices are good, but I did not enjoy the sushi whatsoever! Fresh can only go so far, it should taste good too. Unfortunately, not a fan.

Fast and great value for sushi as well as bowls such as tonkatsu. You also get a free miso soup. This place gets really busy at lunch but it’s still pretty fast. Their selection is good but why do they always have salmon roll and spicy tuna roll but never spicy salmon roll? I need to bring this up with them

One of the best value sushi in town. I usually visit this hidden gem when I’m in town, I’ve been coming to this place for years. I tried the tuna, salmon and most of sushi rolls and they are both super fresh and delicious. You can’t beat the price for the quality you get. Come early or you will be waiting in line as this is a very popular place for excellent sushi.

Food wise its a definitely 3 stars and the reason why I am giving it 4 stars is because of the price. You can’t expect paying little and get superior tasty quality food right. Something has to be sacrificed. Well was downtown and I was feeling cheap. Didn’t want to spend too much money so decided to come to Fujiya for cheap $ 2.95 california rolls. If you want gyoza its $ 1.95 for 6 of them. A donburi is starting $ 3.95 and can go up to $ 5.95 depending what is in it. A bento box is around $ 5.95 /$ 6.95. See what I mean! The food is made at the Fujiya in Clark location and then shipped to the Pender location downtown in the morning around 9 am. So the food has been sitting in the fridge since then. But for the price I am ok with it. The first time I came here was back in 2007 when I started working my first real job in downtown. Would come often when working downtown and the line up has always been busy here. Came here just recently since I am in the hood. Nothing changed. The price are pretty much the same as if they ignored inflation. This is a plus! As a tip. if you want good donburi like Unagi Don, come at 11:30 but no later than 11:45 because those sell out super fast. The mad rush comes at noon, when everyone or almost everyone working downtown are on lunch. Love this place and their prices!

This place is good for a quick meal of machine made sushi. It won’t satisfy all sushi lovers, but its good for what it is(cheap pre-made sushi).

I don’t know… I think I’ve been food poisoned here. The first time it happened, I wasn’t sure if it was because of my lunch here as I had eaten other things, but it happened again this week and i hadn’t eaten anything except Fujiya for lunch and then BAM, at 5pm, i started to get achy and you know the rest.

It’s kinda hidden but the prices are fabulous especially since it’s cheap. Too bad it’s closed at 6 because I live close by. There is also not much seating room so take out is your only option sometimes.

Nothing special. I went there a few times and the last time I got food poisoning You get what you pay for is is really worth cheap prefab sushi to save a whole dollar? I would rather spend a dollar or more for a much better experience.

Just went for something light today. $ 3.95 for 12pcs tuna roll is a bargain! Still pretty fresh given that these are made at their Clark Drive location and driven over in the morning. Always busy from 11:30am and tapers off around 12:30pm. Come early or a bit later otherwise the line up will be outside the door.

My favourite place to come and get cheap sushi whenever I come out to Vancouver! I like that is quick and easy, and probably as good as it gets. The parking lot can be really squishy and frustrating when you’re coming during rush hour. Would recommend to new comers.

This place is a staple of the downtown office lunch scene. Show-up here at noon at you’re gonna get stuck in a long line. Serving respectable take-out sushi rolls, donburi and karrage, I often find myself here looking for a quick lunch option. The prices are pretty cheap so don’t expect quality nigiri — you probably wouldn’t want that from a cooler anyhow.

Cheap sushi that is quick and easy. I get sushi here probably once a week because of it’s affordability, and the taste isn’t terrible. It’s obviously not the best sushi, and because it’s refrigerated sushi, the rice is hard and sometimes not made very well, like my California roll today. My roll was falling apart a bit, but normally it stays pretty firmly together. For $ 2.95, this is the place to go for California rolls, and the portion size is great — 9 big huge pieces that will fill you up quite decently for lunch or even dinner. I also bought a tuna roll($ 3.95) for dinner, and because I’ve had it many times before, I can say that it’ll probably be very satisfying. There’s always a good amount of fish/fillings in the rolls. You can also find bento boxes for about $ 5 – 6 here as well as other common Japanese dishes(yakisoba, chicken karrage, different donburi’s etc). All in all a great place to get cheap take out sushi.

I got Chicken Katsu bento(lunch box), which comes with potato salad and bean sprouts. It’s authentic! It tastes similar to the bento you will get in convenience store or subway at Japan. The chicken katsu is marinated pretty well and it’s juicy. Since it’s a bento, I don’t really expect the chicken katsu to be crunchy or fresh — but it’s still good. I also like the potato salad in the bento. It’s Japanese style so it’s a little bit sweet. What I don’t like about it is the rice. The rice is too sticky and hard. Rice is very important!!!

Been here few times and it’s inexpensive and delicious. I can get sushi for low price and fills me up. The rice inside sushi is hard, but I like it. They also have Donburi, Yakisoba, Gyoza and also Chicken Karaage.

They catered and did a special sushi pack for a work related meeting. The only downfall was that we had to order for 15 people and what we received barely fed 10. Thankfully some of us brought lunch into the office, therefore, we were able to work around that. The sushi itself was cheap and decent. A lot of mayo in the rolls which was odd since most vegetarian rolls as far as I understand doesn’t even have mayo in it. They did give us some extra packs of ginger.

My go to lunch spot at work. I’ve grown up loving Fujiya(the one down Clarke) and had no clue there was one downtown until I started working where I do. Lucky for me, my building is just a 7 minute walk to this little shop ! This location is really tiny, no fresh fish counter like at the Clarke location but they do have all the same prepackaged sushi and what not. Every morning a driver drops off a bunch of the rolls and bowls so you know it’s pretty fresh. They also have little Japanese snacks and drinks. The prices are the same at both locations but because this one is in such a prime area and is so small there is always a HUGE lunch rush around 12 – 2 in the afternoon, so expect somewhat of a line if you go during then. The spicy chicken karaage bowl($ 4.95) is one of my favorite things in the world :)

I’m giving Fujiya 5 stars for being the best affordable take-out sushi establishment in downtown, while keeping their quality relatively high and consistent. Obviously you won’t find seafood as good as Tojo’s or Miku here, but you can get a very filling and tasty lunch for $ 5.00 — $ 10.00 depending on how hungry you are. The majority of their rolls range from $ 4.50 — $ 5.50 and they normally come in packs of 8 pieces. I find that on days that I’m not too hungry, I can get away with a spicy tuna roll and miso soup or a combination pack(california, salmon, cucumber, tuna) while on days that I’m famished, I may spend around $ 8.00+ or so on two packs of sushi or a bento and sushi. Even though there’s usually a long line up, you can get in and out within 5 – 10 minutes since their staff are extremely efficient. Out of all the years that I’ve been eating here, I’ve never had a bad experience!

Even after moving offices farther away, I still make time to go to Fujiya. This is not a restaurant, but more like a fresh supermarket for a wide variety of sushi. The chicken kaarage here is, by far, my favourite I have found so far anywhere. This is an ideal place to quickly pop into, grab your sushi and go. They even have bento boxes which you can take back to the office, or home and warm up. Do not be worried about seeing a long line when approaching the store. It moves very quickly and I have never had to wait very long.
