My experience was much different from the reviewer below. I didn’t purchase anything more than some sailing boots but the owner was helpful and chatted for a bit. In terms of product, this is the only store that carried a full Gill product line and I looked everywhere else — everywhere! Besides, I try and avoid the big US chain stores and focus on Canadian small business owners (I ignored the fact that he’s Albertan ;)
I would definitely shop at Glenmore again, despite its location being less than convenient. If the service is as good as it was the last time I visited, I will bump my review up to 5 stars.
ps: kayakers are the pigeons of the sea — always clueless and always in your way. :)

I have had better service from a fish.
I went by the store to inquire about «inexpensive Kayaks» to hack around on. After about 10 minutes waiting for someone to help me all the store clerk could suggest was a $ 1500 boat. Not sure where the disconnect was. I said an «inexpensive boat». I guess they do not know that you can get a Kayak for around $ 500.
Anyhow, I ended buying the boat from Canadian Tire. Who would have figured that a Hardware store would be a better source than Glenmore.
I will not be going back to Glenmore anytime soon.
