History

Established in 2015.

A new and improved version of the Moon formerly housed in the old SUB. Grand Noodle serves up traditional favourites like Pad Thai, Wonton Soup and Phở. It’s the place to go whether you’re grabbing take-​out or looking to have a nice sit-​down meal with your friends and family.

Grand Noodle Emporium is owned and operated by the AMS.

Based upon the one dish I tried, the Pad Thai, I will not return. I’m not sure why this place is so busy. My Pad Thai cost over $ 8 and was just a box of very salty rice noodles with a little overcooked chicken and the tiniest shavings of cilantro.
Go to the Delly for a sandwich instead, grab a take away meal from the grocery store on Sub’s main floor or wait at one of UBC’s food trucks for a healthier and much tastier pad thai.

If I want a bowl of noodle for lunch, I’d usually come here since there are not many noodle places on campus. I usually order the Bacon and Egg Ramen. Although I have no idea why it’s ‘bacon’ since it’s really just a couple slices of BBQ pork (char siu).
The food is definitely very inconsistent. You never know what you’re going to get. The ramen is sometimes OK, but other times would be way too salty. Same for other food such as pad thai, one time it was OK, another time was bland.

Ate here on a Monday during lunch hour because the line up seemed short and didn’t want to waste my hour break. Regretted my decision 2 hours after as I got food poisoning (I ordered noodles). Asked around about this place and people said they also have gotten sick or found the quality of food disgusting. Never eating here again even if they gave me free food.

The food quality totally depend on your luck.
Sometimes fried rice has no oil, which is gross. Sometimes the rice is over cooked and is hard to chew. Sometimes they just gave you so pitifully little chicken you wanna curse.
But when you are lucky, they have pretty good food.

Trying out all of the restaurant at AMS Nest (New Sub)! Ordered Balinese chicken. It was more like chicken fried rice but was pretty good! Big portion and not so greasy. I wouldn’t mind trying another dishes :)
