Fun for my 9 year old son and I to stop in for some cool East Van cross logo threads. He looks rad in his black t-​shirt and I must say his mama is rockin’ her east van cap. Prices are reasonable, and it feels good to support a local business. Go see Mike and check out his new logo design for the push mower types with an edge. You’ll see for yourself when you get there and ask him… ;)

Amazing little local shop! They an great collection of unique/​hip clothing and goods and they do custom gear.
Mike was happy to help us design a logo and produce a few items for our son’s hockey team; both screen-​printed shirts and embroidered beanies. Prices were competitive and turn-​around time was reasonable. We’ll be back next season… keepin’ it local!

If you come in to this place expecting a Hudson’s Bay sort of shopping experience, you’re going to have a bad time. But if you are looking for an absolutely authentic piece of East Van, this is a place for you.
The corner itself is pretty fantastic — this shop shares real estate with the best Parisian dining in town as well as one of the best coffee shops, ever. Then there’s the taqueria right next door with mind-​blowing margaritas and a happy hour from five to six. Being able to accompany a trip to any of those with a saunter through the Grubwear Studiotique is, to be honest, part of why I give it a five. It’s what it adds to an already exceptional corner that distinguishes this place from a flat four.
Service is boutique — I never know what I’m going to get, but it’s not really about the service. The folks here are happy to stay out of your way and let you soak it up — and I LOVE that.
That someone is taking the time to immortalize the art of east Van in t-​shirts is something I value (and I use the words immortalize and t-​shirts self-​consciously). What you can get here is iconic and can’t be had anywhere else. That also distinguishes this place from a four.
I was in this week looking for a Dude Chillin’ Park t-​shirt in a size four and in green for my nephew. That’s asking a lot, and they didn’t exactly have it (there was a six in green and a four in brown, so…). Mark explained that they are run off in batches and some sell out more quickly, but he’d let me know when the next batch was in. That’s good service — in my case, better than expected.

In-​stock shirt style and size selection is all over the map here. Staff say they have shirts screened every 2 – 4 weeks and they don’t know what they’ll have done (who is running the show?), and then they don’t have in stock the style/​size they said they’d for sure get in. Been in here a few times hoping I’d find one of their shirts in a M on their shelves but with no luck. I asked the guy what’s going on with their crappy selection and he said he’d take my info down and they’d call or email me when my request was in stock. That was over 2 months ago, 2 emails, and going twice in person, & nothing (read other reviews. The same BS story gets told to others. Be aware a couple recent ‘positive’ reviews are from the owners’ friends or made-​up accounts to bump up the shop’s rating.) Makes you wonder what type of business doesn’t carry popular items in stock. I don’t have time to keep going after a business to try to buy something. The owner did not get back to me any of the 4 times I tried contacting the store, and the only reason the owner ‘reached out’ to me was because my negative review was pointed out to him by someone else. Other than the few overpriced trinkets for sale around the tiny shop there’s not much going for it. I guess their main business is shirt screening large orders cause their in store selection and customer service sucks. It’s too bad because I want to support smaller businesses like this, but it’s hard to when they won’t let you. I won’t be back. I’ve worked with many print and silkscreening companies for years, big and small, Union and non-​Union, and it’s a small community and word gets around. There are better screen shops around that actually have a sense of customer service and won’t BS or talk crap to you. I like working with Blue Sky on Commercial (604−253−7501.

Additional: the owner Mike Jackson has been harassing me to delete my 1 star review and thinks it’s ok to post personal information about me. It is very frustrating and quite child like, and is not very smart for a small business owner to be doing. I guess he is desperate for better reviews and doesn’t have any more friends to give him fake good reviews on Unilocal.If he doesn’t like a review from one person’s experience too bad; learn from it, live with it, and move on. He won’t stop and now we have to take alternate measures.

This postage stamp sized shop combines owner Mike Jackson’s skills of silk screening and merchandising. Very cool one-​off screened Tees and awesome-​cool original belt buckles and other accessories as well as custom screen printing orders in bulk.

Stumbled upon this place while walking down Kingsway. Wow! A cool shop in my hood! I’m becoming used to the cute cafes popping up, but when a retail space pops up on the Ho Chi Minh trail, believe me, you’ve peaked my interest.
Cool hoodies and tees, belts, wallets (boardshop-​style) along with funky messenger bags made out of recycled billboards. YEAH BABY! Pretty dang cool.
My fave part was seeing the «Kingsway» tee’s. I am falling hard for this East Van pride stuff and seeing a Kingsway t-​shirt made me beyond stoked! Being from a small town (one small store… and it served as the gas station, post office and convenience store) I like seeing the pride in Vancouver’s smaller neighborhoods. It adds such a community feel that plays a special part in making me feel at home. Yay!
Custom screen printing is also available and seems to be the bread and butter of the business. Everybody, support a bro on Kinsway and print your stuff here!
