My goodness, how did it take me so long to finally order from this place??? I’ve always walked past this place overlooking it, but this place has some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had at an amazing price too! Great for take out, this place is way better than any Chinese take out at the mall. I had the sweet and sour pork, chow fun, fried rice, ginger chicken, chop suey and beef and broccoli. This place had a wide selection of food and everything I ordered was tasty! And I could not believe how inexpensive it all was. The guy behind the counter was friendly enough and the portions he dished out were huge! There was a line up coming in and he had great patience as I was deciding what I would like. Cheap and tasty, with good value and service. Ho Ho Kitchen, you’ve earned my 5 stars!

Large portions of inexpensive poor fast Chinese food. Very basic. Poor quality food is never satisfying but the low price and volume portions makes it an option. I never feel good after a Ho Ho’s meal but I go in hoping for a better experience every time. The worst thing is trying to phone in a delivery order. They are too far from speaking and thinking the English language to effectively communicate well enough. I’ve cancelled orders midway because it’s too difficult to place simple orders. I’m never sure if the order is correct.

Well– color me surprised! I had, as most of us west end dwellers, eaten Ho Ho’s food late at night after a night of imbibing. I’ve literally walked past this place for years and written it off because the fast-food choices were served buffet style and let’s be honest, most food is sub-par when it’s been sitting. I was craving Chinese but hate the cost that comes with ordering more than 2 – 3 items. So when I saw the reviews for their delivery and realized it was all made to order, I decided to give it a chance, and let me just say it was a very pleasant surprise! The portions were very generous, the quality was very good, the vegetables were fresh, varied, and cooked nicely. Meat was good quality and cooked well. Not to mention that we got: spring rolls, deep fried won tons, fried rice, seafood chow mein, and ginger beef for less than $ 40 including delivery, tax and tip. Well done.

We order for our company lunch party and we where all not impressed. Oiling greasy, deep fried, double batter(left overs from 7 days), every item has no taste !! Very dis-respectful to Cantonese food. No such thing as lemon chicken or kung pao chicken laced with MSG and deep fried dirty oil !! Bowel movement time !!

Chinese food that’s cheap and a little greasy is what this place offers. I was surprised at the selection of items weren’t all deep fried batter with little pieces of meat or shrimp. I got the 2 items with fried rice to go. The square contained was filled with ma po tofu which was a little spicy, and black pepper chicken with green and red peppers. There was lots of fried items like chicken balls and deep fried shrimp but also eggplant with vegetables, bbq pork, and chicken with vegetables to choose from. The taste of the food wasn’t too salty and not too greasy to make me feel sick. The chicken was chicken and not pieces of fat so that was good. The box was enough for 2 meals and cost less than $ 7.

We’ve been to Ho Ho’s many times over the years for a quick meal from their ready cooked items, which they have a great selection, but only recently ordered their delivery. We we very surprised by the size of the orders as well as the quality. While their ready to serve is good, about what you would expect at a food court style restaurant, the take out was surprising better, and the price was better for what you got than an of the other half dozen Chinese food delivery order we’ve had in resent years.

Ordered food yesterday at 2:10 to be delivered. Received email stating it would be delivered at 3:00. When it wasn’t I phoned and the guy argued with me about the time the order was placed. Didn’t receive the food until 3:20. I live 3 blocks away… won’t be ordering again.

This restaurant used to be decent at making Chinese-Canadian food. Please don’t mistaken this shop as authentic Chinese food. Ordered: 3 item plate –Sweet and Sour pork –Honey Garlic Pork –Mapo Tofu –Fried Rice The meats — it has gotten worse over the last few months. The meat dishes are marinated with alot of baking soda, hence destroying the flavor of the meat, the texture changes completely, and the meat has an odd taste. You will know what I mean if you ever dined at a non-respectable Chinese eatery that uses baking soda to marinate their meat to cut lost. Mapo Tofu — terrible, stirfried in rancid oil, most likely from deep drying of the meats. zero sauce. Dry. Fried Rice — complete failure, there’s uncooked grains of rice in my fried rice. The worst Chinese-Canadian food I’ve ever eaten. I didn’t even finish the food.

When I came to Vancouver I was amazed with all the authentic cuisine available at amazing prices. Resteraunts where no English is spoken or written on menus is usually the best place to find authenticity and gastronomic happiness. All of that said, sometimes I just get an insatiable craving for Canadian or north American chinese. Sweet and sour pork in pineapple sauce? Yes please. Ginger beef? a must! Finding good canadian chinese food has been difficult to say the least in my neighbourhood. Recently this has lead me to HOHO’s. I have been once before, almost closing time, and remember being pleasantly fulfilled. Today however was another experience. The noodles were well done, but starch is really just a sponge for all the greasy goodness. I had the 4 item combo, sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork, deep fried prawns and a spring/egg roll. The sesame chicken was very good, a little more sour than I expected but good nonetheless. The sweet and sour had a burned or stale flavor to it, and I found the sauce lacking. The deep fried items were very well done, and I enjoyed them both. There is a catch though, many of the prawns still had shells over the entire body. Some tail shell is no issue, but there is a thick line separating the two. Afterwards I was left feeling the usual gut bomb post bad food, with an unquenchable thirst.

There’s something nostalgic about cheap, greasy chinese food, along with the bloated stomach which comes after… II always have to remember not to eat with my eyes when I come here; always leftovers. Caught a glimpse of some guy breading and deep frying the prawns in the back– good to know they’re not frozen. Again, it’s cheap takeout. Not restaurant quality, but it beats food court chinese any day. Under $ 10. Can’t complain.

its not fine dinning but its fast, cheap, and filling. Place is almost the same as a food court experience, pick rice or noodle then you pick how many other items and what they are. I got rice with 2 items(lemon chicken, pepper chicken with veg) Enjoyed my guilty greasy meal and was on my way all in 15 mins.

Their buffet style food is so good and reasonably cheap. However I absolutely love getting a full order of breaded almond chicken and house special chow mien without squid(they load it up with tons of chicken, prawns, BBQ pork n veggies). Get a side of sweet n sour and I guarantee you’ll be happy

Quick, plenty and cheap. Didn’t hate it but it was meh. We ordered a good amount for 2 people, price was very affordable and amazing value for money! Delivery was fast and easy. Just wish the flavours were there. Still… need something other than pizza, this may be a good choice in the West End.

MAJORUPDATE: lunch is now $ 5.95. Still a good price, I’d say. The lady serving behind the counter is still as friendly as can be. There is no doubt that serving good portions of food is her pride and joy of running this business. A girl(in queue, ahead of me) asked for the fried fish, but there were only a few small pieces left. The lady behind the counter explained that there were only a few pieces left, and would the girl mind if she got a piece of fried prawn as well. DUHHH it’s OK! The girl happily agreed. I have never known such generosity at any fast food Chinese place! The quality and quantity of food remains the same — good. More often than not, the extra dollar would be enough to put me off for good; however Ho Ho’s has managed to keep me interested. For now.
