This place is my favorite lunch place ever since I moved to Vancouver. The salads(esp. with chicken breast), sandwiches & daily soups are really good. Definitely a place to go back to again & again. The service is fast. You won’t be disappointed

I used to have lunch at Hubbub once a week when I worked nearby. Always had the sandwiches — veggie, chicken, pulled pork. This time I tried the prawn salad bowl — minus the jalepeno and corn. My expections were pretty low since I’m a carbivore. The prawns were flavourful with a hint of citrus. Everything just worked well together. The only thing I would ask for is less vinegar dressing because it was kind of thickly covered. But I would definitely would try other salad bowls for sure!

Pretty tasty:). I had the veggie, the bread was really crusty and delicious, the veggie filling was spicy and flavorful. He husband and kids had he turkey special. It was like thanksgiving in a sandwich. The baby had the quinoa salad and he was happy with that.

Hubbub Sandwiches Vancouver newest holiday special includes Turkey Sandwiches and Turkey Salads. Twice a year is when this delicious duo appear — Christmas and Thanksgiving. Hubbub Sandwiches and Salad Bliss has three convenient locations: Robson, Hornby and Cambie Street. We really like the Cambie store space. The bright lights, white walls and sharp reds. The space is created by the same interior design firm Evoke International Design. First thing we noticed was the similarities to Commune Café. Evoke International Design also created the charming spaces at Heirloom, Hawksworth Bel Café, The Union, Forage Restaurant, Temper Chocolate & Pastry to name a few. Before Hubbub was Hubbub, Stefan Holm and Ben Thornhill planned to open a sports bar in Vancouver. Lucky for us, that plan never materialized. Instead they opened this boutique sandwich and salad shop with the guidance of Holm’s father(Wayne Holm created the Spectra Group of Great Restaurants and led Cara Operations Ltd.). Hubbub’s menu is simple but offers a healthy delicious alternative for quick meals. Five proteins on a bun or salad between $ 8 to $ 10: pulled pork, turkey sausage, chicken breast, veggie or prawns. Add a sidekick like Clean Slaw or soup of the day to complete your meal. Hubbub uses local ingredients whenever possible like Two Rivers Specialty Meat, and Oyama Sausage Co. All their proteins are gluten-free. Celiacs can rest easy. Breds are made fresh daily without chemicals or preservatives. All of their dressings, sauces and marinades from scratch. Hubbub even uses Postmark Brewing beer to marinade the meat! Holiday Turkey Sandwich 9.99: Oven roasted beer pulled Turkey, onion sage pressed stuffing, cranberry sauce, mayo and arugula. This hearty sandwich is filling and makes for healthy alternative to a cheeseburger! Soup of the day was one of my favorites Butternut Squash Coconut!

This little spot is a few blocks away from my work so my co-workers and I do come here often. First time I tried Hubbub I had a pulled pork salad(no jalapeño’s as I don’t handle spice well). I still ended up with jalapeño’s in my salad; thank god it wasn’t an allergy, The salad had very little dressing on it and there was far to much pulled pork in ratio to the salad. I honestly only ate half and had one of the fresh made in house chocolate chip cookies. The cookie was the best part of my meal that day. The next time I tried Hubbub a co-worker got me a chicken breast salad, the chicken is supposed to be steeped in coconut water and citrus juices but it honestly just tasted like juicy grilled chicken with no flavour… The salad again barely had any dressing and was very dry. I ate most of the chicken but still felt hungry(I do get full easily on a normal basis), I proceeded against my better judgement to try the pulled pork sandwich with no onion or jalapeño’s. The bread was soft and easy to eat but again the pulled pork was just too spicy to make me love this sandwich. I had a side of the quinoa salad which was AMAZING! I don’t usually eat quinoa cold so this was different for me, I loved that it was tangy while still being savoury. The staff are very friendly and more than accommodating, the restaurant is kept very clean and they recycle almost everything(which I am a huge fan of). I do still go here from time to time but would not pick this as my go to sandwich place.

My absolute FAVOURITE lunch spot. This is the place I go to for a hearty sandwich and a quick beer. My «gotta-have» order is the chicken breast. They always have a craft beer on tap, too. All the ingredients in all the sandwiches are the same: Lettuce, jalapeños, cilantro, caramelized onions(the best I’ve ever had), their special(extra-fucking-delicious) sauce, all made on a freshly baked baguette. But you get to choose your meat! So if all their sandwiches have the same ingredients, why come back here? THAT’S how good it is. God damn. Absolutely pleasant atmosphere too. They remember faces, and they treat you like family. Simple, but decadent, Hubbub is a sandwich revolution.

I found this place on the way to a film set. It is a small hipster sandwich shop with limited seating, therefore, it is more of a to-go place. I came here for a double scoop of some vegetarian quinoa salad sprinkled with almonds for around $ 6. It was filling if you double it. The guy at the til was super nice and chill. They have Boylans on tap = super duper awesome.

For a quick salad you can’t get much better than this in downtown Vancouver. Excellent bang for your buck(under $ 10 for a massive salad with pretty much a full chicken breast is very hard to find) and lettuce is always crisp and the dressing is really good. The staff are quick and really easy to deal with. Big points for having a nutritional info booklet. Nothing worse than eating a so-called healthy salad and realizing you could have had a burger! But for the record Hubbub salads are very healthy!

Food: Sandwich Staff: Average Atmosphere: Small Sandwich Shop Parking: Street parking(I walked there) I was looking for a quick place to eat after traveling to Vancouver for work and got in late afternoon. I ended up ordering the pulled pork sandwich since a big fan of pulled pork and make it myself. Here is my take on the sandwich. I really liked the bread. It had a nice chew, but the outside wasn’t so sharp that it cuts up your gums. The pork was very tender, but didn’t have any smoke favor, but I don’t think it was smoked. The sauce, lettuce, and onions added nicely to the sandwich and blended well with the overall taste. If I were to change the sandwich I would do half of the jalapenos or leave them off entirely. By the time I got to the last part of the sandwich, the spice from the jalapenos just overpowered the sandwich and I couldn’t taste the other flavors after that. I would be willing to go back to the Hubbub, but probably not on this trip, so many new places to try. Ordered Dish: — Pulled pork sandwich

Hubbub makes a damn good sandwich. Got a prawn sandwich to go. Service was fast and efficient. Great for the lunch time rush. Sandwich was delicious and filling. My picture makes it look disgusting, but I promise, it’s not. I clearly just need better picture taking skills.

Lunch with partner. FOOD: 2.5. All three items were noteworthy primarily for the amount of spice or pepper, rather than the main ingredients — Wild Mushroom Chowder. Very peppery. — Pulled Pork sandwich. Bread was very good. Pulled pork was rather dry. Too spicy as it overpowered the pulled pork. — Veggie sandwich. Bread very good. Same issue on spiciness as with Pulled Pork Sandwich. SERVICE: 4.0. Fast and friendly. AMBIANCE: 3.5. Clean and comfortable.

There’s a limited menu here, but I believe it’s intentional, to take the guesswork out of your meal — choose sandwich or salad, and protein, and you’re good. I’ve had the Turkey Sausage Sandwich and Salad, and both are really good; the sausage is a bit spicy, but not too much. I have to say that they are quite friendly and efficient. I once walked in there was greeted with a smile right away, and once I ordered the salad was ready in a few minutes!

I think I made a big mistake by getting a salad. Wasn’t feeling too hungry so went with the salad with chicken. The chicken was moist and the dressing was nice. The size was decent but the actual salad wasn’t anything special. Service was excellent and for that reason I will come back to try a sandwich!

I don’t know what it is about Hubbub but dang those sandwiches are excellent! I’ve been a couple of times now, and both times I got the chicken sandwich. I keep trying to get something different, but the fact that it’s marinated in coconut milk makes it a no brainer! It’s moist, tender, and juicy, and I can’t resist. The bread is great — a little sour(in a good way) and soft, but just chewy enough. The jalapenos and cilantro take it to a whole other level, though — they’re definitely my favourite part! The shop is simple, and so is the menu — I love that there are only a few options. It means the food is made quickly and precisely and then gets into my belly quicker and preciser ;) I haven’t tried the salads, but they look good. I can certainly vouch for their corn chowder though — it’s the perfect balance of sweet, savoury, and creamy! Hubbub might be tucked away from the Robson St hustle, but take a walk that extra block and you will not be disappointed!

I’m sure the boys at the downtown Hubbub sandwiches just love me. Whenever I come in for my dinner break at 7:59pm(they close at 8), I feel like a beggar who’s just scrambling to get something to eat, and will eat whatever they have left. Luckily, whatever they have left is ASTOUNDING! I’ve only have two of their sandwiches so far: the pulled pork and the lemongrass chicken. Both cooked extremely well, and I loved their wide caramelized onions that add a bit of texture, but not stringy/sinewy. The pulled pork is flavorful and spicy, after being marinated for 24 – 48 hours and then placed with slices of jalapeño on the sandwich. The chicken sandwich has the same jalapeño awesomeness. While it’s a bit more expensive than Subway around the block, it’s worth it in terms of of quality. And the guys are totally cool with you staying a bit past 8 once you order.

Om nom nom. Literally typing with one hand while I eat my take-out pork sandwich. Have yet to break into my slaw. The place itself is clean and sleek — the line-up area is pretty intuitive and the staff is really nice. Their take-out utensils are all compostable(so awesome!). Service is quick, so I was in an out in about 5 minutes. The sandwich is delicious. It’s quite large, so it evens out for it’s price at $ 9. It seems everyone under the sun was grabbing the pulled pork, and rightly so — it is DELICIOUS. but really really meaty. I appreciate the big piece of lettuce to help me feel like I was eating something a little healthier. I wish my sandwich came cut in half to make it easier to eat, but it wasn’t a deal breaker since I was at home and just cut it myself — but if I was taking it somewhere else, it would’ve been a frustration for sure. I followed the advice of some Unilocalers and asked that the jalapenos be removed since I’m not huge on spiciness. The side salad was an extra $ 3, and a bit smaller than I was hoping for. Good thing the flavours made up for it — the slaw was crisp, fresh and light — well seasoned with fresh mint and coconut. Overall — my meal came out to just over $ 12. Definitely a good lunch option but not one of the cheaper ones. I was feeling for a sandwich though, so this hit the spot.:) Hidden on Hornby, so accessible via the 2, 22, 44, 32, or 6 with a block and half of walking.

Had the Turkey chorizo and a bowl of soup. On a hearty baguette that was crusty, it worked well with the soup, which today was a rustic tomato. Great place to go for a quick meal with friendly staff. It wasn’t busy when I arrived so avoided the rush.

A few co-workers were heading out for lunch and I decided to tag along. We ended up at this location and I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve passed it many times on my way to the movie theater but never went inside. One tip would be to arrive before lunch time or be prepared for a bit of a wait. They do move through the line with great efficiency, however. While there is not a lot of vareity of types of sandwiches(very much in the Meat and Bread style of choice) what they do have looks delicious. I had the turkey and sausage which was a little unevenly prepared but still very, very tasty. Another thing to note is despite not mentioning it, at least where I could see, all of the sandwiches appear to come with large pieces of onion and jalapeño peppers which I do not care for. I always love the chance to support a local business when given the opportunity and am happy to have discovered this place.

I was looking for a place that did simple sandwiches and salads for lunch, preferably vegetarian, and this was the perfect match! The veggie sambo is sooo goood, very tasty and quite spicy — lots of good jalapeños in there. It’s sandwich bliss, as promissed: slightly crispy bread filled with fresh ingredients. And very good value at $ 7.99, worth every penny. The salad version is also nice, and it’s a pretty big bowl. I also tried the clean slaw, and was I grateful for that! Very aromatic and fresh little salad, it went well beyond my expectations. I liked how everything was perfectly organized — order here, get your number, have a seat while you wait, pick up your food and some cutlery. No getting in the way, no awkward standing around, just swift service. It’s also a good thing that the wrapping paper of the sandwich is dense enough that it doesn’t get soggy at all on the outside. Staff was quite friendly too, even playful when it came to calling out the order numbers. There was always one of the guys going around the tables, keeping everything neat and clean. If there is one negative point, is that it can get a bit busy, but I don’t think you can blame them on that :) This place is worth trying at least once!

WARNING! Highly Addictive! Hands down, no doubt, best pork sandwich I’ve ever had! Bold words but I haven’t had anything that’s tasted this fresh and delightful(sandwich wise) in a long time! The bread is toasted to perfection, the cilantro kick starts your senses, and the marinated pork makes for one mouth watering bite after another. Proceed with caution.
