I first encountered I-Found Gallery at the Fraser Valley Bead Show in 2008. This was before they had the bricks-and-mortar location on Main Street. I loved all the *actual* vintage findings. They tend to troll estate sales, trunk sales, and other«get rid of it» attic and basement purges. Old coins, buttons, odd molded doo-dads, and secondhand cameos are all here. They also have finished items if crafting/making your own isn’t your thing. Personally, I love the bits and bobs that would have been poured into molds to make little metal charms. Since they’ve been on Main Street their prices have increased, but they do the occasional class and they’re helpful if you have a project in mind. Also-True Value Vintage is now sharing the space with them!

How the f*ck did I not ever see this place on my walk to the record store coming from upper Main? Was I too self absorbed into my hipster music to really stop and look around? I walked into this store and I swear that I have seen this store before, maybe in my imagination. This well organized, clean laid out store has the best vintage stuff that people actually want. The shop presents the items, especially the jewelry as nostalgic desires rather than retro throwaways. The staff are really nice, sweet and patient as I walked around looking at everything. Some stuff is a little above my means at the moment until a few paychecks down the road, however, fell in love with some awesome stuff. Most stuff is reasonably priced for the fair market value of the street. Trust me to fall in love with something which happens to be the most priciest. I am not too shy to admit that I have champagne taste for some things. These people really love vintage treasures and are very people and customer service friendly. You know that vintage store smell that can throw you off due to the age of materials and fabrics? This store doesn’t have it, therefore, you can breath easy.

A beautiful variety of literally everything bead-pendant-charm-chain-stone-like that you ever thought you needed! Make sure you are not in a rush as their selection is very extensive. Service is mediocre and prices aren’t cheap, but a good place to find that perfect finishing touch on whatever you’re crafting.

This place is SUPERCUTE. I’ve walked past here about 15 times and never actually popped my head in until now. They have a great selection of necklaces, ranging from about $ 16-$ 30 which is pretty average for main street. They have a good bucket of keys for the same price as most places $ 7 a key(for those into the hipster key fetish). They had a nice little selection of sunglasses, shirts and clothing but what blew my mind was all the jewelry supplies! So many necklaces and charms, beads and everything you could possibly want in a jewelry shop. I was running late so I didn’t do much more than have a quick look around but I will be back, that’s for sure.

I’m a jewelry designer and I usually purchase my supplies in the US because, well, I’m from the US. I’ve been searching far and wide for a good supply source for a while now and I found i-found(heh) through their Etsy store. This place has it all– friendly service, cute dogs, and reasonably priced supplies. Not only that, but you’ll find stuff here that you will NOT find anywhere else. This place is a wonderland. I can spend hours upon hours there. However, I’m going to keep my visits there to a time minimum so I don’t creep out the employees. Did I mention that they’re really nice and really helpful too? No? Well, they are. Their prices(as I said) are VERY reasonable– and they’re especially great if you make stuff in small quantities and you don’t trust yourself to use up a bulk amount of supplies. I was specifically looking for a fine gold filled chain. They had the same chain I wanted to buy from a different jewelry supply store for about 1⁄3 of the price. I didn’t have a chance to look at their other stuff(clothes, accessories, etc) because I was completely dumbstruck by their jewelry supply section. So, until next time!

I think I had a dream about this place. My Mom was a hands on, make it yourself kind of Mom — made all our clothes, clothes for our dolls, things for around the house etc. As a young girl I spent a lot of time sewing and crafting and visiting fabric supply stores. Places with giant, colourful selections of buttons, jewels, beads and the like were just the thing that little girl dreams were made of. Big, grown-up girl dreams too!!! What an amazing selection they have here. Previous reviewers mentioned strong scent. I didn’t notice anything so perhaps they have stopped using it. I’m very prone to react to scent, so it is something I am aware of and I did take a few good breaths as we entered to make sure it was somewhere I wanted to stay. I think Unilocal should add a button or rating as part of reviews to allow Unilocalers to rate how scented an establishment is. Anyway… lovely, enjoyable visit to a great little store.

i-found Gallery is the new occupant of the space vacated by my beloved Mihrab Gallery. And while it’s no Mihrab, it’s pretty cool in and of its own right. The bulk of the merchandise(according to their website) is stock from an old Toronto warehouse that shut down a few years ago. There are vintage pendants, lockets, bracelets, cameos. There’s a tray of pocket watches, and an assortment of vintage buttons(look out Button Button!). They also stock clothing made by Zachary’s Smile, which repurposes vintage fabrics into new outfits. I really liked the feel of the store, the merchandise seems lovely, and the prices are reasonable. My only complaint from my first visit was that they were burning incense. Please, I Found Gallery people, if you read this. Don’t burn incense. Yuck.
