Very okay sushi. I only go here when I’m desperate. I would only go here if Yagoto sushi –the good place is closed

I live in kitsilano and this is hands down my favorite sushi place. Reasonable priced, especially given the quality of fish that’s served. They serve the tried and true favorites but also lots of delicious original rolls. The grill serves up a good variety of grilled meats and stir fried udon. Have been here many times, never disappointed!

Horrible Service! brought the wrong food, had to take our order twice, still got all of our bills and orders wrong!

Came here a couple of times with my friends. My favourite is okonomiyaki and sunshine roll. It’s soo good! I would definitely recommend those, as well as kimchi udon and caribbean storm.

This place is one block away from where I live. I went in once by myself and once again with my boyfriend. Both times it was dark and no one else was eating there. Their specialty items are delicious and the ingredients are fresh, but the portions are too small. If you come here for lunch, I recommend sticking to their popular dishes. Overall, I do not recommend this place because I found it a bit too pricey and the ambiance is too gloomy to really enjoy the meal. I order take out from time to time only because it is close by. My favourite roll is the Sushi Sandwich with salmon.

I use to stop by this place for a quick lunch when I worked in the area frequently. That was quite a few years ago. Today I was in the area again and was looking for a quick reasonably priced lunch(that wasn’t fast food). I was not disappointed. I dropped in on a Saturday around 12:45pm and it was not busy at all? There were only 3 other tables occupied. I received a friendly greeting immediatedly upon entering the restaurant and was seated immediately along with being served a cup of tea. The lunch menu had a wide variety of specials. I went with what I always order at Japanese restaurants: Chicken teriyaki Bento box. This included miso soup, salad, rice, teriyaki chicken on a bed of bean sprouts, tempura(2 prawn, 2 potato, and 2 other veggies) and 8 pieces of California roll all for $ 8.95. Overall the box was extremely filling for the price. At first I felt that the side rice portion was smaller than what I was use to, but the larger portioned Bento boxes for about $ 4 more meant me overstuffing myself. This was the perfect size for lunch(for a large eater) at a very reasonable price. I would definitely come here again when back in the neighborhood.

Just came here to get an oyako don takeout for my break at work, but the reviews for their sushi seem pretty good. The more unique rolls are quite expensive and the service seemed a little rude when I came to pick up my take out. I will probably give them another chance since they are close to work and have solid reviews, the oyako don was quite tasty but they should’ve given me a spoon and not just chopsticks.

Last night I ordered takeout from here for the first time. With that limited experience I can say that they have some bad ass sushi going on in here! Will be most certainly returning, in fact they may have replaced Temaki as my go-to neighbourhood spot!

This was my go to sushi delivery place in Kits. The place is owned by Chinese people(my peeps), so the sushi is okay. However, the sashimi salad is the best! I always got it with wild salmon. The delivery chick is super nice.

First I wanted Temaki sushi for lunch but since it closed on Sunday I gave this place a try. It was really good. A nice restaurant with average price and good food.

A good spot for lunch, with quality food and old-fashioned, quality service. I had the teriyaki salmon bento. Everything was really good. Even though it was a bit more expensive than you find at some of the good sushi places in town, this is more of a well-run, quality restaurant reminiscent of high end, 1980’s steak house in ambiance and quality service. I liked it. :D

This place is a little nicer inside than your typical hole-in-the-wall sushi joint, but I have to admit I am really not a fan. The menu is fairly extensive, but their rolls are just the same things you can get all across the city — nothing new or interesting. I get take-out from here every couple months because it’s close to my mum’s place, and every single time I wish I had gone elsewhere.

One of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Vancouver. Although it is not too close to where I live, I do not mind driving all the way there. It is located on Arbutus and near West Broadway. The quality is great and the food is brought out in a timely manner. The service is very good and I rarely have to request more tea or water because they are always on it. I find the pricing is quite decent for what you get. The bill usually totals about $ 20 a person and you are really filled up. I prefer non all you can eat restaurants when it comes to sushi because I would rather pay for quality over quanity. Most of my friends also cannot eat their money’s worth(that’s like 90% of the people haha) so it’s just a waste of money for your mass made food. The menu is quite well rounded and I enjoy seeing photos of the food before ordering. Either way, the presentation is really nice nonetheless. My favourite dishes at I Sushi are the Salmon Sashimi Salad, the Kimchi Roe Udon, and the Imperial Roll. Pretty much a must have for me when I am here. I suggest going as a group of 3 – 4 so you can try out the chef specialty rolls. Although I have been here by myself once and because of my preferences, I barely finished my food when I ordering a Salmon Sashimi Salad, Kimchi Udon, and a miso soup for lunch. The portions are quite large so it would be beneficial to share. This applies to pretty much any restaurant that you aren’t ordering 1 item for yourself. I have also had my birthday dinner here a few years ago and was serviced extremely well even with the large group. They also do delivery on top of allow for take out. The delivery service is mainly for people who live around the area or neighbourhood though. If you enjoy Japanese food or just food in general, I would suggest giving I Sushi a try if you have not been before.

Always pleased with I-Sushi. I come here regularly. The sushi rolls are good quality, well made. The lunch boxes are the biggest and most filling bento boxes of this price range of Japanese restaurant. And the prices are very affordable. For an affordable, simple but tasty and well made Japanese, this is the best in the area(better than a certain overpriced competitor around the corner on Broadway that starts with a T)

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. We were the only ones in the restaurant and were quickly lead to a table. We settled in to read through the menu and glasses of water were brought to us. My dining companion suggested the ramen and so I decided on it with beef and a dynamite roll to begin. She had sunomono salad, the snow white roll, and pork gyozas. Food was brought out fairly promptly. My dynamite roll was pretty standard but it was well seasoned, which was nice. Soya sauce wasn’t required at all. The slices definitely ranged from thick to thin though, making it a challenge to figure out if it would take one bit or two. My ramen came in a bowl that was big enough to feed 4 people. I had inquired about the broth as I don’t eat pork, and was told it was miso. The noodles were perfectly cooked and still had some bite to them. The bowl is primarily broth and noodles as there was just a bit of beef and a couple of floating mushroom slices. It was good but I’m not sure it was $ 9 good. Service was the main downside. Despite being the only table occupied for most of our visit, we were never checked on and we had to flag down another server to have leftovers wrapped up. Our bills were incorrectly split and I think all of this was enough not to make me want to return, especially considering how many sushi joints are in the neighborhood.

This place is the best sushi I have had in Vancouver aside from the sushi at more expensive places. I absolutely love the spicy tune rolls and the salmon and avocado rolls here. They have brown rice too, which I like to get with my rolls. It is super close to my office and I order it frequently for evening meetings as they deliver after 5. The only downside is that I wish it was in my neighborhood. Davie village is seriously lacking great sushi spots! This place is awesome! Yum Yum Yum!

I’ve been to this restaurant twice for lunch, and both times the hostess directed my group to sit at a booth with a reserved sign despite not having reservations and there being other suitable free tables. I can’t speak for everyone in attendance, but that made me feel special. Also, the food is fantastic and the bento are generously-sized and offer a great variety of edible contents. This is the best Japanese food I’ve had since moving back from England late last year(all Japanese food I’ve had since moving back from England has been the best Japanese food I’ve had since moving back from England, but I-Sushi is even better).

I only recently discovered I-sushi on my quest to find the best, reasonably priced, diverse sushi joint in my neighbourhood(South Granville, Kitslano), I-sushi may be it. It’s easy to miss I-sushi as it’s tucked into that row of ambiguous restaurants on Arbutus and their signage is pretty weak. That however, hasn’t stopped herds of Vancouverites from flocking to I-sushi, particularly at dinner time. Their lunch and dinner specials are very reasonably priced for how much food you get. The boxes have a million things in them, well worth the $ 12. Tempura and Robata items range from the usual suspects to craziness like tempura asiago cheese! The ika karage is great too. The speciality rolls are the same. I had one with flaked coconut on top! The sashimi is also really fresh, with several catch options. Finally, the ambiance is clean, dark, and a little more modern/classier than the standard japanese eatery(which is great too of course). Highly recommended.

I am one of these odd people in the world who simply do not like sushi. That means I judge a Japanese restaurant on a select number of Japanese staples(tempura, teriyaki dishes, yakisoba) that they do not always focus on when they have«sushi» in the name of the restaurant. In the case of i Sushi, they did a fine job. Atmosphere is relatively nice, although the faux beer bottles with black-and-white photos of the wall that would fit better in a French bistro is a little odd. I went with the beef teriyaki combo dish off their lunch menu and ate some of my gf’s tempura. Nothing amazing, but still to a level where I would not actively turn down coming to this restaurant if others wanted to go.

I just can’t stay away! Super authentic Japanese cuisine with a large menu. I always go for the sashimi salad(upgrade to the wild sockeye salmon of course!). It comes with 6+ pieces of beautiful red salmon on top of a huge bowl of mixed greens(I think they’re even organic) with a tangy dressing, spoonful of masago caviar, tempura flakes, daikon radish and mayo. For $ 8.00, it can’t be beat! When I’m feeling more indulgent, as I usually am, I add a large Asahi — the Big Boy if with company. They bring tea and water for free, too, so no shortage of beverage can be found on my table. The Ume roll is winner, deep fried in tempura batter, once again with the real crab and brown rice upgrades — scrumptious! Great selection of sashimi including seared saba. When the proprietor noticed my girlfriend and I were ordering well, he suggested the kushi oysters prepared Japanese style paired with sake — yum yum once again. This has been one of my standby favourites since it opened, and it seems people are beginning to notice my discovery — it has been packed at lunch hour during the weekdays the last three times I’ve been there! Kind of a weird layout inside, but it’s well made up for by the tasty fare and attentive service. You’ll see me here as long as they keep it up :)
