I expected IK2GO to be a bit better than your average. It was convenient for us to go here because its right behind our building on Hornby. My partner and I got a panini and a spaghetti meatball dish which came out to 13 $ which, is a really decent price. The food was mediocre and the spaghetti lacked real taste. The panini was a bit better and I’m not going to complain about it. It was good for what it cost. In any case you’ll have to try it out yourself because my taste is different than yours. You might hate it or love it.

I stopped by to pick up some salads for a last minute dinner party. They had noooothing. I mean… nothing. They had a couple paninis in the cooler but no salads, no sides, naaaada. To be fair I was there close-ish to the end of the day, but I honestly don’t know what I could have ordered! Slightly confused, I turned my attentions to their little groceteria along the side, chockfull of pestos, dried pastas, balsamic vinegars and olive oils. Resigned to the reality that I would be cooking dinner, I plucked through the options, checking for price tags. And there were none. I kept asking the guy at the counter, «Sorry, how much is this?» I swear he was making it up as he went along. «Err.uhhhmmm…seeee…Seven dollars. Yeah. Sure. Seven dollars.» This made me laugh, so I continued along and bought four things, which in total came to $ 22.00. I glanced down at the price list he had next to the till and noted that two of the four items I was being significantly under-charged for. All good though, No complaints here. So onward home I went, to make chicken parmigiana and pesto farfalle with my fancy new groceries. I would love to try the food here sometime though — if y’all could help me out by having some food to purchase, i’d really love it!

ok so my grandmother could expedite food more quickly than these people. SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. Your average wait time in line is going to be about 15 to 20 minutes, THEN for some reason it takes another 15 minutes to heat up a premade panini. THEN you get to watch the servers walk around for several minutes trying to figure out which order goes to what table. The manager is not the most friendly person in the world either. I’ve given this place a couple of shots but it’s the same thing everytime. Just save yourself the frustration and go to Mussette a block and a half away. They have paninis(and it only takes them 5 minutes to heat it up for you).

A friend took me to this newly opened restuarant under the pretense of cheap, great food with the friendliest staff ever. I got the spaghetti and meatballs. Came with 2 giant meatballs which really filled me up. I would agree with 2⁄3 of my friends comments. It was cheap(under $ 10 for the spaghetti), the staff were super friendly but the food in my opinion was decent but nothing fantastic.

* Why is Glowbal popular? * Every time I try a new Glowbal Group location I am left asking myself the same question, «Why is Glowbal popular?» I’m sorry, I just don’t get it. Really don’t. This location is a casual version of the Italian Kitchen, and offers a range of take-out and sitdown(order at counter and sitdown) options. I tried the Veal Parmesan panini. It was described on the chalkboard menu as having, «mozzarella, spicy tomato fondue.» After ordering they took a premade panini from the fridge, stuck it on the grill, and served it. This premake and reheat style just doesn’t work well. The centre of the veal was still fridge cold, was a bit rubbery, with the breading separating and falling off a bit, and the edges of the bread were getting a bit too hard from the reheating. I couldn’t detect any mozzarella at all — perhaps they forgot it? Or there was so little that it just got lost in the overtoasted bread and lukewarm veal? The tomato sauce(sorry, «fondue») was the best part. It had a pleasant heat to it(both temperature and spice). Photo: So I’m still left wondering — I just don’t get the popularity of this local chain?
