Indian Brow & Henna Boutique

I got a henna mehndi done a couple days ago. This is my first one and I love it, but it could have been done better. The henna artist was in a rush, all lines are thick and messy. I’m not satisfied with the result — I paid 45 $ and would definitely do another henna in a different place.
Update: the next day after posting this review, receptionist called me and said they are sorry to hear My henna wasn’t as good as I expected it to be and offered a free henna.
I’m adding one more star for customer service.

I came in to get some large henna tattoos on my legs touched up. The receptionist was nice enough on the phone and I think I only booked three to four days in advance.
The place was clean and they did a good job. They had some sticky stuff they sprayed on that seemed to hold the henna very well and I was happy with the way the henna showed up a very nice colour of dark brown.
They honoured the Unilocal check in coupon. It was a bit more than the place I go to in IL, but Vancouver is an expensive town, and I would not say it was expensive for the area. It was about what I expected to pay for this service.
I would definitely go back if I was in the area! The woman who did my henna art told me there was free parking in back too, which is good to know.

Eyebrows is what they do. So they better do them well…
Good news, they do!!! Threading is their specialty as is the henna art on hands.
I will forever get my eyebrows done here.

Made an appointment for 11am this morning. Walked over there and the Henna person wasn’t in. Got the usual ‘I don’t know anything/​Family emergency’ excuses but no phone call to let me know in advance even through they took the number for the appointment. Went back 45 mins later because she was ‘on her way’ and she was still ’15−20′ mins away. Might be great but tough to tell if they don’t show
UPDATE — so we did make it back over there on a dull day and my daughter is happy with the results

I’ve known about this place since it opened but never got a chance to try out their brow service. What’s great is that they have a much bigger space than some of the other higher end brow bars in the city, so even though it was busy, it didn’t feel crowded. I was immediately greeted by the co-​owners and offered a choice of chai or water. I was early so I was happy to relax after a work day. Hema (owner) did the usual brow outline, but offered to do a brow tint ($ 20) since my brows are thicker in one area than the other. After about 2 minutes after application, it looked like there was makeup put on my brows so I liked that. Plus the tint is made of vegetable dye so I didn’t have to worry about chemicals on my skin. Hema said that their facial ingredients are all natural as well. She’s a great brow sculptor and pointed out areas where I needed to grow out more hair. Finally, Hema gave me a head massage (the choice of brow gels is the same at the other brow places) and brow makeup. Brow service is $ 21 and they have the brow brushes and makeup for sale if you need that. Great service, great location. I saw a few empty cups on the table in the front area, but that wouldn’t stop me from visiting again.

Went there at 10am tues 9^th June, but they were closed. Called the business twice, as sometimes the call goes to the owners voicemail. But just ran out, waited around till 11am, no one still turned up to open the store. Thought they opened at 10am? Not really impressed, wasted my time this morning and a bus ticket!

I had my henna done by the owner, too bad I didn’t catch her name. She is very skilled and talented at what she does! I had her copy an image I had brought in, and the result was identical. The owner even offered to give my niece (who was waiting for me) free henna! How nice of them! I will definitely be back :)

I get my eyebrows threaded here from time to time — always very friendly service and am happy with the results. The rosewater massages are heavenly!
My only complaint is the constant up selling, which gets tiring. You’ll be asked multiple times about their package deal, during your service they’ll mention something else that you could benefit from (for me it’s always suggested to get upper lip threading & eyebrow tinting)

Updated review, 2 stars: I made an appointment. No one showed up. They do great work, but this is so unprofessional to not check your appointment book and call to let clients know you won’t be making it in… especially when they travel in from across the border. Like me.
Original review, 5 stars: I saw Rupal for threading today. This chick is amazing. My brows have never looked better. I am definitely hooked and will be back many times to come!
The service is great and everyone is lovely. The salon itself is clean and beautifully decorated. It smells delicious as well.
The service takes a bit longer than most threading places. First off, Rupal is a perfectionist. Secondly, you get a really nice massage. So, all worth it.
With your first appointment you get a free henna tattoo! What a nice surprise.
For those with more sensitive skin, they also have numbing cream if you need it.

These darlings are perfectionists who will take their sweet time consulting with you and trying to achieve the ideal brow shape.

I found IBHB through Google and dropped in to book an appointment for henna for my palms, for my anniversary.
I loved how it looked and so did my surprised husband!
I wish Hema had a tattoo machine to make it permanent!!!

I absolutely love the work that Hema has done on my eyebrows. Before seeing her my eyebrows were definitely two different shapes and after some repeat visits she has finally made them into such beautiful brows! I get compliments regularily now. I was sort of taken back by the price of a eyebrow threading (which is about $ 23 dollars) but it’s worth it. They serve you chai & water, give you a brow message, and also stencil in eyebrow make up. I will definitely keep on coming back!

I usually go to Bombay Brow Bar because they have a few locations around vancouver. But I decided to try this place after driving past it a few times on broadway.
Walked in with my girlfriend last week. I had my brows and upper lip done. My friend, her brows and brow tinting.
The staff/​co-​owners are genuinely friendly.
The place was spacious, inviting and clean. shelves weren’t teeming with merchandise (ahem Bombay Brow Bar ahem) they offered us some chai and took our coats.
The lights above weren’t super bright and in your face when you lie back. I really liked that. She took her time explaining where I needed to grow my brows and did my lower lip too. Which I didn’t even know you could do! Then the brow makeup application where she actually showed me how to apply it properly and where to apply it.
I walked in with no makeup on and extremely hung over, yet I walked out looking fresh faced and with the best looking brows I’ve had done in a very long time. My girlfriends tinting looked great and natural.
Sorry Bombay Brow Bar, but these guys (for the same price) are just that much better. I bought a brow package that you can share with friends and family.

I dropped in to treat myself and have my eyebrows threaded for the first time — wow! I’ll never wax again. The experience was so nice; almost like a spa — luxurious, including face/​forehead massage. The décor is relaxing and I didn’t feel rushed at all.
And, my eyebrows look really great! The shape is lovely and suits my face; I asked for «thin-​ish and arched» and got exactly what I wanted — not too thin, not too arched, but just right. It looks almost-​natural, yet elegant. After the threading, she also did some nicely understated brow makeup, which she showed me how to do while she was doing it. They also sell their brow makeup (and, made in Canada.)
I decided on the spur of the moment to also have my eyelashes tinted, and again, lovely job, and included a hand massage. Then, she threw in a free henna, which was an unexpected treat. Treat yourself! Well worth the price. Definitely will be going back for further treating! :)

Visited this brow bar for the first time for an eyebrow thread, and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve been to the typical «trendy» brow bar places before and felt really rushed. The ladies here were very welcoming and had great attention to detail. For $ 20+, you really want to get your money’s worth as you can get your eyebrows threaded for $ 5 elsewhere, on Main Street.
Before getting started, they consult with you about what you would like to do with your brows and show you with white pencil where they are going to clean. Threading is quick and thorough and they follow up with a tweezer if needed. Then comes aloe vera gel, a quick head massage with rose gel, and eyebrow makeup.
I would definitely come back here as overall the ladies were very friendly and professional, and did a great job with my brows.

I have gone there for a few months and enjoy the results very much. The atmosphere is pleasant, service great, work done is magical. I am glad to find them.

I had a great experience here! The atmosphere was really welcoming and relaxing. It was my first time getting henna and second time trying out eyebrow threading, so I really appreciated the aftercare advice. I will definitely be going back!
