This one was the best ! The one downtown can’t compete… so sorry to see them go… and to leave behind a Thai restaurant… booo! I guess the service did suck pretty bad though.

I love this place! The Dao xiao mian with beef is delightful. so is the perfumed chili noodles. yes, the service is subpar but who cares? the mains are $ 7 – 9. you get what you pay for. The pea shoots are good but pretty average. I would recommend this to anyone looking for yummy noodles.

Wonderful little neighborhood noodle spot. Had the ground pork and mushroom one(#30?) done up a little extra spicy, really delicious. Other sauces I tried were great too. Tasty noodles at a great price, and lots of veggie options! No problems here.

Liked all, especially pea shoots appetizer. Avoid peanut and spinach dish!

Is it Legendary? Not quite, but they do produce fast, cheap, handmade noodle soup. For $ 8, we each ordered large #12 I think. The beef brisket noodle soup with spinach and selected the thick noodle style. The broth was flavourful, beef was tender, and noodles were just chewy enough. There wasn’t a heck of a lot of beef, but it was filling enough. Cash only, so bring those bills!

Delicious! I came to the restaurant after standing in line for Kintaro Ramen and giving up. There was no wait here which was an immediate positive. The waitress was very nice and pretty attentive. I ordered a beef noodle soup, my mom ordered a lamb noodle soup(which I’d never had before). I’ve had a lot of beef noodle soups before, this was really good. It made me appreciate the broth a lot, since I could taste so much of the flavor. Maybe because I paired it with the lamb, I was able to taste the distinct differences between the meat, which made me like them both more. Although I think $ 9 for this is rather pricey for noodles(I’m used to paying $ 6 – 7 for the same), I’m a traveler and I don’t mind paying that price for a little comfort food

I LOVEHAND-MADENOODLES. So I was ready to love this place, but oh my, what a disappointment. OK, so the lady is a bit rude. Who the hell cares? It’s freakin’ Chinese food, people. We go to restaurants to EATGOODFOOD. Politeness is surely not necessary for a good Chinese restaurant and if you happen upon good food and good service… well… you’ve found a gem. Back in the 80’s, we used to go to this tiny hole in the wall on Kingsway run by this crabby old woman. Everyone we knew went there… but not for the service. She was mean and nasty but hell if she wasn’t one damned good cook. My parents referred to her in words that would loosely be translated into«skunkface». anyway, I digress. Legendary noodles: Had the thin noodles in beef soup… essentially the broth was salty water. Beef was flavourless. Noodles themselves were nice. Dao xiao mian with pork. again, noodles OK but it was greasy and I could make a tastier dish with my eyes closed. Some other dish came… i wasn’t there when it was ordered. not sure what it was… there were some veggies on fried noodles. again, bland as all hell. pea shoots were tender and good. two cold and unmemorable apps(tofu and beef) and finally, xiao long bao that tasted like frozen suckers. so overall, not a good outing. Hope you have better luck if you go.

Upon reading the reviews, I trusted fellow Unilocalers and tried this location for noodles. Sadly, I did not agree with most reviewers… I think I should have known of what was to come when I saw a lone fly hovering around another table as I was trying to decide what to order. I will admit though, that the handmade noodles alone were good, but the beef noodle broth we had was nothing out of the ordinary and came with only 4 little pieces of tough beef for around $ 8! I was appalled. Furthermore, my companion ordered an appetizer that tradionally comes as wontons in a peanut sauce, but instead came as huge dumplings. He was disappointed that it was unauthentic. Unfortunately, the only redeeming dish was the sauteed pea shoots with garlic and that’s already hard to mess up given a wok and hot fire. The worse part of our experience was the service. Our waitress never smiled once and didn’t even acknowledge our presence and mainly looked at her ordering pad. She gave us the«what do you want» attidude the entire time, even though we were polite and smiled and asked questions nicely. We also asked for two glasses of water(twice) since it was really hot in the restaurant and never got it until we resorted to flagging another waitress. I usually try to understand from a waitstaff’s perspective, but the restaurant(it’s quite small) wasn’t even busy on that Sunday afternoon. I read an article where Vij recommends this restaurant(not sure if it’s this location though)…but unless I’m having what HE’S having, WITH him… I don’t think I’ll ever be back.

I like the hand cut noodles they have a chewy texture to them and the pea shoots is nice. I find that the dishes are a bit too oily for my liking but it is tasty. The chef of the West comes here regularly from what I have read it is one of his favourite places.

A visit to Legendary Noodle was surprisingly… memorable. Like a previous reviewer, we were drawn here having found Hawker’s Delight closed. The quality vastly exceeded expectations based on the outside awning, with fresh pea shoots and hand-made vegetarian noodle dishes that had a surprisingly delicate flavour. I highly recommend it for a quick, casual meal!

Overview: Shanghai noodle house. Handmade fresh noodles. They have the typical Shanghainese noodles such as Hand Pulled Noodles(shou la mian) and Knife Shaved Noodles(dao xiao mian). They are handmade fresh on the spot, and you can tell because there is a large window so you can see the kitchen. 3.5 stars: black bean sauce noodles(zha jiang mian). The noodles are of course awesome. The black bean sauce is different than the standard Chinese style, but not bad. It has shitake mushrooms, which is a nice touch. The meat was too salty though. 4 stars: soup dumplings(xiao long bao) These are pretty decent. The skin is a little thicker than the best kinds, but the skin is freshly made and good. The meat was not as tender as the best, but it was pretty juicy and flavorful.

We just moved to town this week and stumbled upon Legendary Noodle while walking down the street. From the front it looked like the real deal, and we saw how busy it was so we gave it a try. We knew we made a good choice when we saw the chef actually making our noodles. The food was great. huge servings. and I’m looking forward to my leftovers for lunch today!

I was turned on by homemade noodles but the dishes were waaaaay too salty. Want some noodles with all that salt?

Fresh noodles made to perfection. Make certain to tell the waitress which sized noodle: thin, thick, or flat. Broth, tasty. Perfect for those cloudy, stay-in chilling nights in Vancouver(about 9 months of the year). Like spicy — get #16 Like a simple good broth– #11 Tea is $ 2. Don’t forget the shao long bao(steamed pork dumplings). Watch the dude make noodles in the window. Very entertaining.

My wife and I were lamenting the fact that Hawker’s Delight was closed on Sunday for lunch when we stumbled upon Legendary Noodles. We were intrigued by the photos of noodles being hand pulled. I was impressed by the fact that Legendary Noodles has so many vegetarian options on the menu. We ordered pea shoots, chive cake, and a bowl of noodles. The pea shoots were delicious, as were the noodles. The chive cake was just so-so. The prices are very reasonable. I’ll definitely be including Legendary Noodle into my regular rotation of casual places to dine.

The knife-sliced noodles stir-fried with cumin lamb shank was excellent. The noodles were al denta while the lamb was tender and perfectly spiced.
