We used to like this store and I wanted to leave a nice review, but after my experience with the store and the manager, I am doing the exact opposite. My wife bought an Xbox 360 game for 30 bucks here for me for Christmas. When I tried installing on my Xbox, the second disc was missing. We went back to the store to see if they have the disc, but they didn’t, and since they only do exchanges we tried to look at the other games and none were what I wanted. So we wanted a refund, and the manager would NOT give it to us, for something they screwed up on. I told him we were good customers and have bought other things in the past spending well over a hundred dollars, he wanted to see the receipts that we had bought in the past, which I don’t have, as who carries around receipts from past purchases??! Was he really going to offer a refund only if we had receipts from previous purchases? We won’t be going back, we understand the return policy, and we didn’t want to return it, but since they don’t have the disc or another replacement, why wouldn’t we deserve a refund? I find it troubling how this manager can feel good about his customers not getting the value, and that we paid money for something we cannot use. Its people like this that give customer service a bad name. He didn’t seem to care, which I find troubling. If you buy something and it works, I’m sure you will have a good experience with these people, but if they make a mistake or sell you damaged goods they won’t help you, which in this day and age with crappy made products, you need that type of customer service, otherwise we’d be throwing money out the window… We try to stay away of big box stores like Bestbuy and support more local business owners, as we believe in small vendors, but unfortunately for DVD’s, games and books, we will be returning to big box stores, since they stand behind their customers. Sorry Lely’s, but you’ve lost a customer, and we hope others consider our experience, in the event that they have an issue with a product that they buy from you that you don’t have more than one of.

This is a great place to buy stuff for Christmas, I’ve been there a couple of times this past month and they always have new stuff. My husband works a block away, and there’s always so much to see in there, I like to look around while I wait for him. They have lots of toys and books for kids. Not so much for adults, although the dvd section is quite big and prices are reasonable. They also carry the usual board games, monopoly, scrabble and such. They even have cards against humanity! ! They have a small section of self help books and tarot cards as well. If you are into that it’s a good place to visit. Right now the big thing is frozen(still) my girl is crazy about it and we keep going back to get little things. FYI!!! They are closing at 6 Monday to Wednesday. They have not edited the business hours here on Unilocal. Anyways, great place if you like dvds and/or have kids.

I have been in this book store a few times. I am surprised that book stores exist in general, let alone in Kingsgate mall. They mostly focus on Children’s and pre-teen material. Their selection is decent, prices are decent and customer service is awesome.

TERRIBLESTORE! I was debating wether to buy a DVD for $ 30… It was a DVD I couldn’t find anywhere else in store so I just decided to suck it up and buy it. The tag said It was a new movie not used. When I got home I decided to watch it and turns out the DVD wasn’t new. It had TONS of scratches! I went back to the store to return it so I could just order it online. The woman in there told me all sales were final and she couldn’t give me my money. I tried to explain to her its not that I wasn’t happy with the actual movie I’m not happy how there’s scratches all over it for $ 30 and it says its a new movie. She then stopped replying to anything I said. SORUDE Now I’m stuck here with a $ 30 movie that stops because of the scratches. Also all the good well known movies are overpriced here. Finding NEMO in stores is $ 25 here it’s $ 50. I also found out the movie I bought is only $ 7.99 on walmarts site. SAVEYOURMONEYANDGOBUYMOVIES&BOOKSFROMSOMEWHEREELSE

There’s a lot of stuff here. Some of it is interesting, some of it, not so much. Aside from the sketchiness of Kingsgate Mall itself, I find this place a little disorganized. There’s a lot of cheapo items and not just by price. Some of the toys don’t look like they’d survive any form of scrutiny from government regulators. Mind you, this goes for toys you find at any dollar store too. Each time I’ve gone into this store, the staff has always seemed unfriendly… barely even acknowledging your existence, let alone asking if you need any assistance. I don’t feel particularly welcome when I come here.

All kinds of DVDs for prices ranging from cheap to cheaper, as well as various books, toys and what not. Very good place for getting little gifts or simply browsing to see what’s new.(I will also say, parenthetically, that I just like Kingsgate Mall.)

Cheap dvd’s, good service and a place to keep your kids distracted while you browse. Lely’s Books is nestled nicely inside this mall that seems to lurk in obscurity. I sell dvd’s and buy dvd’s from this operation all the time. The main girl thats there is the one with the german ascent that knows a thing or two about movies and service. Remember before you come to give yourself an hour here because the time expires fast whie you browse thousands of their dvd’s.

Certainly a hidden gem. It opens to about 7 every night at the little mall on Main st., and if you’re looking for a gift item, this place has to be one of the first places you should start. Lots of movies and DVD’s for very little $. Boxed sets and everything!

This is a hidden gem. A children’s books and toy store in Kingsgate Mall, a mall that has limited people traffic . There is a wide variety of things in here that is suitable for children from about 2 years and up. Hello Kitty paraphernalia, Disney Pixar toys, books, and related colouring pads, Angry Birds, and an assortment of other kinds of books all for children. Prices are not bad. It also appears that they have mark down sales that when you do find something, it’s a steal. This store is like a one stop shop for children. They also have DVD’s, new and used. What do I like most? There is a small demo train set for children to play, but there are no hoards and hoards of kids screaming and yelling. Yeah, the mall is pretty ghetto. Reitmans is about as «high end», if you could even call it that, as you get for women’s clothing.

I like Lely’s a lot. I used to go here before I was a dad. Back then I liked the super-cheap DVDs for myself or as gifts and the board games. Now as a parent, it’s even better as the kids section is great. There’s a good selection of great-priced items for children aged 0+. Lots of books, art supplies, games, toys, kids DVDs… And did I mention it’s super cheap? Kingsgate Mall did a big renovation about a year ago — the place now is well lit with nice décor. I love to come to Lely’s in Kingsgate with my child and also when I’m on my own!

We were on our way to visit some friends and their new baby. We hadn’t had a chance to find a gift, and stumbled upon Lely’s. We found an adorable onesie — actually Made in Canada! — at a reasonable price. Was surprised and impressed. Very glad we found it!

This little gem is hidden inside sketchy Kingsgate Mall. Like most everything in Kingsgate, it’s not too fancy but it’s really cheap. I guess the rent there must be reasonable, because nothing at Lely’s feels overpriced. Probably my favourite part of this«entertainment» store is the selection of DVDs and video games for $ 5 or less. Last time we were there we found Playstation 2 and GameCube games for $ 2.99, and a handful of great movies we’d been meaning to buy — for $ 4.99 or less each. What a deal! I do remember going in there once and not finding Scrabble, which is weird for a game store. The selection of items for sale seems random at times. I feel it’s best not to go in there looking for something specific but rather treat it as a treasure hunt.

Lely’s carries educational materials for kids. They have lots of books and some DVDs and toys. You can usually find some pretty good prices here. Worth checking out if you are in the Kingsgate Mall.
