Dr. MacIntosh appears knowledgeable and gets results(4 stars), HOWEVER, as the other reviewer mentioned, the wait times at the Vancouver location are unacceptably long, staff and the doctor are unapologetic and argumentative about the wait times and the waiting room is so crowded it would not pass a fire safety inspection. The management of this office is unprofessional and highly discourteous to patients.(In my case, I waited 1 ½ hours one time and 2 hours the next time for morning appointments before 10 a.m.) Even worse, when one of my prescriptions was running low, it took staff one week to respond to the prescription request faxed in by the pharmacist(which is the way the doctor’s office requires being contacted), by which time the prescription had run out. For this reason the staff deserve 0 stars.(In contrast, 5 stars to London Drugs in the Olympic Village for their diligence in phoning the doctor’s office several times to get them to respond, as well as calling me to keep me informed!) Go to this doctor only if you’re prepared and have the luxury to spend up to 3 hours in the waiting room with other exasperated patients.

To be fair I’ve only been to the Vancouver office not the Richmond office but it’s the same Dr. The Vancouver office is a tight cramped room with chairs packed like sardines. The appointments appear to be booked in 5 minute intervals — I sampled the other angry patients in the waiting room who like me had waited over an hour. First time I came I waited 1hr45min and she saw me for 5min before literally pushing me out of her office. Second time I waited 1hr35min before she saw me for 1min45sec. Yes I timed. Both my appointments were in the morning so why so late? Frankly I don’t know if this Dr is any good because she barely says anything to you other than put your chin here, look up, left etc. If you try and ask any questions she gives you a dirty look and opens the room door to indicate your 1min45sec are up. I don’t know what she was checking or what I need to do to maintain my eye health — but it wasn’t for lack of asking … I’m giving her 1star for lack of people skills. Sorry, this is 2015, I’m paying you for this appointment, it’s not free, so my time is just as valuable as your time. I expect my Dr to have technical expertise and people skills — I know, crazy right?! In summary, come here if you have lots of time to kill and don’t need to be anywhere else, don’t like any conversation, don’t know what your medical condition is or why you’re here, don’t care, you just want to help her bill Medical Services Plan. Otherwise, there’s lot of other choices. My family Dr confirmed that GP’s can refer to any specialists, so it’s your choice, your GP didn’t choose her because she’s outstanding, she’s just close to where you live or the GP practices.
