Roughly translated «maison d’etre» means «house to be» — and that’s what we’re all about — helping you achieve your vision by renovating your home and making it all that you want, and need it to be.

Since 1995 maison d’être has built its reputation on the premise that everyone deserves good design and that the design can be both forward-​thinking and simultaneously healthy. Keeping in mind that both geography and climate affect the successful transformation of a space, maison d’etre strives to produce innovative designs that not only enhance property value and marketability, but more importantly, that each home remains livable and grows with the homeowner’s changing needs.

Rob Capar has successfully achieved the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of BC Professional Designations as a Registered Housing Professional (RHP) and Registered Renovation Professional (RRP). maison d’etre design-​build inc. has received the designations of Certified Residential Builder (CRB) and Certified Renovator (CR).

Rob is also the instructor for the Home Renovation Planning course offered by Langara College, a leading provider of classroom-​based real estate education in the Lower Mainland.
