Majestic Futon & Frame Company

Bought their Deluxe futon frame and futon mattress. plus also purchased a cover. Well over $ 1000 spent. Got the unit home. THE WORST instructions ever. It wasnt even the right one — it was for a different futon. THey never told me it would take 2 – 3 hours to put this thing together. Went online. NO Videos. COme on. make a video to show people how to put together this frame. Also wanted to charge me 75 for delivery and i live 6 blocks away… I found out later that they have someone who can put it together. but for another $ 50 dollars. After spending $ 1000 — youd think they could provide some help without wanting to continue to gouge a person.
Then Once it was put together… I could not make the frame go upright into sofa position. I tried and tried… Did I do something wrong when I assembled it…? it crossed my mind.
Also– tools provided were in a small package… then other tools were taped to the other side of the box. WHich I did not find until I was ready to throw out the cardboard… It made it a lot more difficult without those extra tools…
SO I went back to the store and told them it would not close. Originally they told me how easy it was to fold up. Ummm. Idont think so. They told me I was one of three people who ever had a problem… SO? Im a customer. I dont care if Im the only person… Aren’t you going to help me? The two sales women were pretty useless.
Went back on Saturday to pick up my futon cover. $ 125. Brought it home… Zipper was totally broken. Dont they check these things before giving it to the customer?.. now I have to bring it back. Had to wait another week and then — go back again to pick it up… come on!
Next day the manager calls. Condesending attitude. All I want is someone who knows the product to come by and see if I put it together properly. Were not talking Walmart or Ikea. were talking about a little local shop. After explaining my frustrations about the whole scenario– the manager hangs up on me!
Wow! really? I swallow my pride — and I called her back… and she arranged to have the service guy pop over on Thursday night. They came. Showed me how to open the futon and raise it. Totally different than the way the women in the store said how to do it. They were helpful…
OVERALL… an awful customer service experience. The matress is good otherwise. The frame is ok. Seems a bit weak. DO NOT GO TO MAJESTIC FUTON in Kits… go somewhere else.

We visited Majestic when our current mattress had become too soft and was starting to hurt our backs. The sales woman showed us all the different types they had, and explained the differences between latex, memory foam, and organic materials. We chose the one we felt most comfortable in and bought it. The price was great, and even better we had the mattress delivered and ready to go within the week.
Overall i was very impressed with them.

Watch out: all their futons have 100% polyester shells, NOT natural cotton, as shown on the cross-​sectional samples displayed in the store. Of course they don’t mention this when you make your selection. Or even before loading the mattress into your car. Sleep on a polyester-​covered futon? No thanks!
It turns out Majestic Futon is owned by Renelle furniture, the supplier of mass-​produced so-​called futons that are also sold by Sleep Shop and Bedcetera/​BunkBedsCanada. Unfortunately, they are just cheaply made imitations of the original cotton futons that were so popular back in the day. Buyer beware!

As far as futon and bed stores go, this is a great place to start. Majestic offers everything from standard futons and frames to high quality latex mattresses, memory foam mattresses and mattress pads, and some very nice wood bedframes. Their prices are quite reasonable, though there is a charge for delivery. I found the service here to be informative and helpful, and from the time you order to the time your bed is ready is pretty quick.
