Nice ice creams.
Store is dirty though. Age old dust and stains everywhere. Needs a good cleaning.

This place is ok. The ice cream is ok. The service is average. If you’re really hanging for an ice cream, walk a little further down Denman to the D’gelato place instead.
I’ve decided to avoid marble slab because there is always a line up because of slow service, not deliciousness.

You think it’s impossible to get bad service at an ice cream shop… Well it’s surprisingly easy at this store. It’s very likely for your order to get messed up or worse you could end up paying with no ice cream in your hand. In my case, they redeemed my coupon made me wait for a while and came back and checked the coupon again and said the coupon was already used. Don’t fall for its prime location.

Mmm mmm good! Stopped in here with friends, craving ice cream, while in the West End. It was late on a Friday night and it was busy. We were a large group but the staff were still polite and patient with us. I loved that you only pay one price (for the size you want) and you can have as many toppings as you want (unlike other places that charge extra for toppings or weight).
I got a small Irish Cream ice cream with oreos, chocolate, cookie dough, and fudge. The girl who put together my cone kept asking me if I wanted anything else in it, which I appreciated.
Less than $ 12 for two small waffle cones with unlimited toppings. Not bad!

Great location. Great ice cream. I’m sad they did not have walnuts and my favorite nuts at this store. All together it was delicious.
Enough said the location is right by the beach.

This ice cream/​yogurt shop is similar to Coldstone’s Creamery, but they don’t charge for every mix-​in.
You pick a size, flavor, and as many mix ins as you want. Then they mix it all together and you can either get it in a cup, waffle cone, or even a chocolate dipped cone. The great thing is that it’s all one price.
It’s not the best ice cream I’ve had, but when you’re at the beach across the street and want a sweet treat, this would suffice.

Their birthday cake flavor taste different than the other locations. Maybe im crazy but it taste more like cheesecake.
But still good! This location gets incredibly busy so be prepared to know what flavor u want because u will be rushed.

I had an Entertainment coupon for buy one get one free. I showed it to the the woman making my ice cream, as I hadn’t used it there before. We only got two because of the coupon. After preparing both, the woman said the coupon was only good for the North Van location. I can’t stand when stores do that. It did say that on the coupon, but if I ran the biz, I’d tell my employers to give customers the benefit of the doubt. I’d offer the discount. It cost us just over $ 14 for two cones of ice cream. Wayyyyy to expensive.
And the ice cream isn’t that good. The flavours don’t taste like what you’d expect them to taste like.

Decent value for money. I recall coming here a while ago and spending about $ 7 – 8 for a cone with more charges for mixins. For $ 6 and unlimited mixins, that seemed fair for me. While the quality is not superb like your rain and shine/Ernest’s of the world, it is still much better than traditional grocery bought ice creams. My favourite is the birthday cake. It actually tastes like cake!

The day before I tried Marble Slab Creamery, I tried Rain or Shine Ice Cream so I had a pretty good idea what was available as good ice creams in Vancouver.
At Marble Slab Creamery, the ice creams are ok+, I’ve had way better but I also had way way worse so it is a good stop for someone craving a good ice cream and who likes traditional tastes. The cone is ok too but a little too heavy.
At Marble Slab service was not so great. Per example, when I pointed out to the server that I asked for cheesecake and not birthday cake, he got annoyed and tried to tell me he took the good one. Man you took the ice cream out of its box in front of my eyes and the label said birthday cake not cheesecake so sorry for asking you to have what I ordered –’. To go pay, we also stayed awkwardly with our ice creams in hand for quite a few minutes to wait for the cashier to stop small-​talking with the previous customer. I do understand that it is nice to talk with customer sometimes but there was quite a line behind us so maybe it was just not the best time.

Don’t advertise lactose free options if you don’t plan on having any in stock. Massive thumbs down.

This was an accidental discover — after a day out walking and hanging on the beach, I was feeling a little parched so went in search of a cold beverage. instead, I found this place and was pleasantly surprised.
Location: Great — I believe it’s on Denman & Beach, just a few minutes walk from the beach at English Bay.
Service: It’s fairly spacious inside, but they only have two tables outside, so I suggest taking your ice cream to the beach. Enjoy your cone while taking in the amazing view. The person who served me wasn’t overly friendly. I’ll give her a 2.5 — when we got there, it wasn’t that busy so I think she could’ve made an effort to smile and make a little conversation. Also, she couldn’t tell me if Marble Slab was a local company or a chain. Seriously — shouldn’t you know this?
Food: I can’t comment on cones or waffle bowls because I always take my ice cream in a cup. As someone who doesn’t eat ice cream very often, I was really happy my selections; I went for cheesecake and double dark chocolate, both of which were super creamy and tasty, without being overly sweet. Once you select your flavor (s), the clerk dumps your balls (hee hee!) on a slab and mashes it up for you. So you’ve got a few options here: first, they give you one free topping (I went for a PB Cup). You can either have them mash it up with your ice cream (with one, or all of your balls), or you can have them just stick it on top. You can also ask them to mash up all your ball flavors together if you like. I had the clerk mash up my 2 balls separately with half the PB cup in each.
In my opinion, this ice cream is way better than Ben & Jerry’s, who have lost a lot of their quality and flavor over the years. It’s very creamy, they have an assortment of flavors and the price is about the same.
Price: About $ 5 – 6 for two scoops.

My waffle bowl today was very stale. Not surprising as a bunch of them sat premade, out in the open, and uncovered. I don’t know if the heavy chocolate dipping process adds to this, but the undipped parts were stale as well. I ended up not finishing the bowl, shame as with it my ice cream came to almost $ 10. And a stale, unsatisfying product was not worth the most expensive ice cream I have ever had.
As for the staff and service, the place was empty on a rainy late evening. Two staff members were professionally dressed and jumped at the prospect of helping customers. The owner of the franchise on the other hand, was dressed for a sporting event and only addressed us when it came time to pay. Though I don’t really expect much for an ice cream parlor, so I let it slide.
Would I come back? Absolutely! I love ice cream when its vanilla based, and I can add whatever I like to it. With all their options they are sure to be able to meet any of my cravings. And having it mixed on the spot ensures its «the freshest ice cream in the world», or so they claim it to be.
Would I recommend it? — Yes. Not only do they serve delicious ice cream. But with a fridge of ready to go goodies you can take their ice cream home in buckets. Cakes for birthdays, or get a mini personal sized one because you are worth it. And if you want waffle bowls to go, grab a set of 6 cupcakes in a variety of flavours from raspberry chocolate fudge to peanut butter brittle. Here you will have all your ice cream needs met and satisfied. Don’t deny your craving on this one. Especially as a great way to beat the upcoming heat, by the beach.

Really creamy ice cream, love all the choices in flavours as well as mix-​ins. Great location to grab an ice cream and eat it happily on the beach at English Bay on a warm summer’s eve looking at the sea, the mountains, etc.
However, you pay through the nose for it! So expensive. It’s like $ 5 – 6 for a SMALL in a cone (one scoop!). Is it just me, or is that a little crazy?

My ex said his waffle cone tasted like consecrated bread that you receive during the holy communion.
I almost want to stop the review there, but there’s more. I ordered the belgian waffle promotion that they have recently. People who read my reviews know that I’ve been searching for a satisfying Belgian waffle. Well guys, this still wasn’t it. God damn it, this was painfully awful.
Not only was it smashed into a little cup, totally different from the presentation on the pictures, not only was it SIX dollars for this coin sized waffle — Have you ever eaten something that contained so much sugar or perhaps low quality ingredients that it was gritty? Eating this thing was honestly like eating sugar coated jujubes. it just didn’t have as much flavour.
I got green tea ice cream with it. I’m not sure if they know what green tea is. There was none. Anywhere. it didn’t taste bad, it just was not what I paid $ 6 for.
I had walked for two hours looking for a satisfying dessert after an amazing Mother’s Day breakfast. TWO HOURS FOR THIS SHIT?
I’d rather lick my fingers and dip it in the yellow sugar in my cupboard next time.

At around 5:45PM on December 1^st 2012. My boyfriend and I walked by [this] store and glanced inside. We thought it was closed. The sign with all the times clearly stated that it was open late, but it said ‘Closed’. We peered inside, all the lights were on and the sandwich board was outside. So, we pulled on the handle and walked in. No staff was in sight at all. We even tried to peer in to the backroom and couldn’t see anyone. We stood inside, stared at the flavours for a few minutes —waiting for someone, anyone to show up — -but we just walked out. What an awful experience!
Not sure if I would ever return.

I haven’t seen this place at its best, but I’ve been by a few times for some ice-​cream. So far so good. Pick a smooth flavour and a crunchy topping and you are set!
The location is pretty much perfect in summer time. I’ve seen the crowds! Holy!
The staff are a little… less perky than I expected. But, seriously, who cares! They’re beating up ice-​cream and then serving it to you on a cone. I don’t care if they’re prancing or dragging, as long as I get my ice-​cream.
On that note, RAINBOW SPRINKLES!!!
Now, in winter time, you’d still see the odd ice-​cream fiend trudging through rain and snow for an ice-​cream cone. Hi!

Great location and the line ups are always long but moves fairly fast.
Expensive ice cream but the concept is pretty neat. You get to add toppings to your ice cream and they mix it in for you.
I like that they have fruits as topping option.

It looks a little like an overdone corporate Coldstone knock-​off upon first glance, but I assure you it’s very good. I stopped in several times and the employees were always friendly (the owner works here and is really sweet).
Plus they give you as many samples as you need (there are lots of options!), which is good news given the nearby Gelato place limits you to 3 samples for a 2-​scoop cone– what the heck??? I have to like 2 out of 3 things??? Not possible. Ok, I digress.
Tons of mix-​ins! I always get raspberry mix-​in (good with the dark chocolate). And the waffle bowls! How fresh! How crisp and tasty!!! I need to live closer to this place so I can get ice cream all the time! YUM!
It’s happily right next to the beach, so get some ice cream and take a stroll! You wont be disappointed!

Good texture to their ice cream — rich but not overly creamy. I like the concept of them mixing two flavors + toppings together for you. But most flavors were too sweet.
The only flavor I really liked was blueberry, which had a nice tart flavor. The vanilla, red velvet, green tea, and black cherry all tasted very artificial and overly sweetened.
