My experience here was very positive. I am not giving it 5 stars, only because I don’t deal with this company often enough to have any more insight than my initial experience. I was looking for a very rare antique part, and they had one, and were able to provide me a lot of information about the status of my washer dryer. After mentioning the part was used, I took my chances and installed it(a transformer for an old maytag), however, the part was not functional. I was a bit nervous that they would not take the part back, being used, but after I had taken my old part and the part they sold me, the owner checked both parts, issued me some advice and was more than happy to refund money. Overall, I would recommend this company and will go back in the future. They did right by me.

Unfortunately, I need to tell about the absolutely awful service I received from McIver’s recently. My washer/dryer stack had been acting up sporadically, and another company was unable to figure out the problem. My landlord had wanted to get a second opinion before replacing the unit. On his first visit Jack appeared to be knowledgable and friendly. He figured there was a problem with the water level switch, so he left to order the part. His second visit was mostly fine, though looking back I should have recognized the red flags. While he was installing the part he mentioned how different the new one was. I thought it was strange, though I assumed he knew what he was doing. I wasn’t really paying attention to him while he worked and I assumed he tested everything when he left. This is where the story takes a turn towards the ridiculous. A couple days later, I put a load of laundry in. The basin filled, but never drained. Obviously something was very wrong. Before Jack had come the washer worked sometimes, now it didn’t work at all. We contacted them and set an appointment which I confirmed. The night Jack was supposed to come, he didn’t show. My girlfriend called the next day for an explanation and the person who she talked to said he had tried to call but that I hadn’t answered. She offered no apology, and argued that if we had been home how had he not been able to reach us. This wasn’t true as I hadn’t missed a call all day and was very much at home during the time he was supposed to come. He had no problem calling to be let into the building before which my girlfriend mentioned. To which she received a hostile response about not having my girlfriends number or our ring up number. Even though my girlfriend was a little upset at the conversation, we set another appointment. Which brings us to tonight. I confirmed that Jack was going to be coming at 5:00pm. As it stands I’ve been staring at my phone waiting for a call that still hasn’t come. So we’re calling someone else, and you probably should too.

The staff at McIver’s are very knowledgeable! My dryer venting hose and the outside venting cap had disintegrated so it was time for an upgrade. I looked around on Google to see if I could do it myself and it appeared that I might be able to tackle the problem on my own once I had secured the essential parts. The big box stores carry all the parts but McIver’s is very close to home so I thought that I would try them first. Was I ever happy that I did! The ladies behind the counter were extremely helpful and they provided me with all of the necessary parts to complete the job. A few years ago I purchased a Huebsch washer from McIver’s and I am very happy with it too. Thanks very much for being there, McIver’s.
