If I could give this place one and a half stars, I would, but I think being honest, it’s closer to one than two if I had to pick one. I showed up, there’s probably 3 – 4 employees between the register and cleaning tables. There’s a yellow sign«please wait to be seated» so I do. And I wait. And I wait. I make eye contact with three different servers. One of them just completely ignores me and continues to clean off tables, one walks back into the kitchen never to be seen again, and one looks up at me periodically but ultimately just continues trying to fix some sort of problem with the register. After 15 minutes I’m getting annoyed. I walk to the front counter where the register fixer gruffs at me, takes my order and tells me «just pay later»… okay. I get the sliced brisket meal, I asked for collard greens rather than all of the other sides(low-carb diet), they were okay with that when I clarified that meant they could skip giving me the cornbread as well as the beans and whatever other sides normally come with it. My food comes. Quality of the beef in the brisket was fine, and the fat content was good. It was however super dried out, fairly flavorless, and the collard greens were basically inedible. They came in a bowl of liquid and looked like a terrible cabbage stew and despite having a good amount of meat, ostensibly for flavor, they were the most bland and boring greens I’ve had. I finish the brisket because I’m starving, leave the collard greens after a few bites and walk up to puzzled register lady to pay. «How was everything?» she asks«Not very good» I say. «Oh» she says, takes my money, hands me my change and goes back to ignoring me for the register. Okay, then, I guess that’s your priority. Don’t eat here.

As I flew into Vancouver, I developed quite an appetite. This place was right across the street from the hotel, it had some resemblance to Baby Blues BBQ back in LA, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered their ½ chicken plate. Unlike the bbq place back home, they prepared this plate a bit differently. They cooked everything into one bowl: a mix of chicken, spicy rice, sausage, and other ingredients that I don’t recall. On the side, I got a green salad and corn bread. Every bit of this meal was delicious, and it sat well in my stomach. Clearly, what they cook with is good quality. I wish more places back home would do the same. The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. I liked their décor and ambient. I will repeat before I leave Vancouver.

I’ve passed the downtown location previously and made a mental note to give a go the next time I was in the area and looking for something to eat. Couldn’t find anything appealing to my stomach before the Canucks game aside from here, so I gave it a go. Seating can be limited if there is a big party there. Menus are located above the counter and at each table. I would suggest grabbing a table, look through the menu then order. Unless uou know what you want, still grab the table first! We ordered two combos. In one combo we got the ribs and sausage with the potato salad. In the other we got the pulled pork and brisket with French fries. Both came with BBQ sauce, pinto beans, coleslaw and cornbread. If you are hungry, this will fill your stomach! The food was really good and I give it a solid 4 star. The only thing was the waiting time. If you are lucky to get a head of a crowd, it should take 10−15minutes. But if there are people in front, it will take much longer. I did notice those who ordered l take out got their food much quicker than if you were dining in.

My bf was really craving bbq so we decided this might be good… since bbq is what they are supposed to specialize in. Simply disappointing and over priced. My bf ordered the brisket plate that comes with sides. His brisket was cold! The cornbread was dry. And that bbq sauce is bland and thick. It’s kind of gross. I ordered the chicken wings with bbq sauce… I have to say I am a big fan of chicken wings but this sauce is so nasty I did not finish my wings. I couldn’t. I also had a side of beans that were almost $ 5.00 for a small scoop. I’m so disappointed with the quality of food and service from Vancouver restaurants. How dare these businesses charge money for the disgraceful items they plate up.

I’m going to say it again… WHAMMYPOUTINE! For a lil extra I can get pulled chicken… Instead pulled pork… YAY! The BESTGRAVY I never had… Bring the ”Molasses” flavor… SICK! The meat plate to share(its huge) is very good too… And their pulled chicken sandwich is to die for… Seem that they improved their Corn bread!

The good: Good portion for the platters, we have a lot of leftovers. The bad: Dry ribs, dry chicken, just ok pulled pork. It’s a little bit disappointing since I was looking forward to it.

Big fat NO to Memphis Blues for me! The first time I tried this place, I was starving so I ordered a full rack of ribs! Everything tastes good when you’re hungry, right? Apparently not at this restaurant, I completely lost my appetite. I gave the restaurant a second chance a few months later, big mistake! The food was not good at all! The bbq sauce they use on their meat tastes weird. I love that they give you a bunch of sides, too bad they don’t taste good and the cornbread… ahhh the cornbread is tooo dry! The staff were friendly and the service was good. The restaurant was clean and had a great vibe! Perhaps the other menu items are good, maybe read more reviews, but the ribs combo-meh!

We’ve ordered takeout from this location a couple of times and it’s been relatively solid. Any of meats are juicy and well done, especially the ribs and beef brisket. This place is somewhat pricey, so I think you hold it to a bit of higher standard. And while most of our food was great, there were some flubs. In one order, an $ 8 side of beans and rice was inedibly spicy and had fries that were pretty stale; another order had beef brisket that was mostly fat and a side of potato salad that featured crunchy, almost raw potatoes – otherwise this would be a four-star review.

Came here for the first time in about 7 years(when I had gone to the Broadway and Granville location before). I remembered it as being average at best(my wife and her family are from the south in the US, and so I know real BBQ from them). The pulled pork and the sides were average at best. This meal reminded me why I hadn’t been back in 7 years. Oh well… I’m still searching for a decent BBQ place in Vancouver…

Killer BBQ. No question about that. I’ve eaten at the Broadway location many times and loved it. We sailed into town for a couple of nights, planning a Memphis Blues run. Called in a Priscilla Platter to feed the 6 of us, which is more than enough food but I wanted leftovers for days. Mmmmm. Cold brisket and spicy sausage from the fridge? My mouth is watering just thinking about it. So what’s involved with this platter? ALLOT! Ribs, Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken & Sausage but that’s not all. Corn Bread, Cole Slaw, Greens, Potato Salad, BBQ Beans and French Fries. I know. Right? It’s a mess of food. But wait, with Priscilla, there’s more. Throw in Oysters, Shrimp and Catfish and you have yourself a meal for the masses. Now that’s alot of food and it doesn’t come cheap. So for the casual diner, I suggest a Combo Plate with Brisket and Pulled Pork. You’ll get a good idea of the style of BBQ the South expects. And being this far North, you’ve probably never anything like it. Throw in a side order of the BBQ Shrimp to share too. George and Park, I applaud you and your BBQ mastery. This coming from a boat load of happy and full Texans. Thank you and I will come again.

This was more like a 3.5*. We ordered the«Elvis Platter»!! What can I say. Pulled Pork, ¼ Chicken, baked beans, fries(which were only so-so), coleslaw, sausage, etc. it was basically every meat they have but beef brisket. The food was good & satisfying & had a cold beer to wash it down. What was truly outstanding was the service… our server/cashier was a very pleasant young guy. Funny & trusting. Normally you’ed pay in advance but he recognized that we were trustworthy & let us pay after the meal. Good decision & I’d go back.

Food: 4⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Ambiance: 4⁄5 Value: 2⁄5 Ordered the choice of 2 meats combo(pulled pork and ribs) for $ 25 for take out. Pricey. But it took me 3 sittings to finish that beast… so I guess it’s a good deal?! Lots of meat. Lots of meat sweats! Quality of the meat was there and the ribs were fall off the bone tender. The combo came with a side of fries(slightly stale), coleslaw, beans, corn bread(dry), and BBQ sauce.

Didn’t like the BBQ sauce and it taste like they just slapped the sauce on top without marinating the meat… Eaten at better places in the states!!!

We visited at 2 in the afternoon and service was polite and quick. The food was fine but not earth shattering BBQ by my standards(I attribute that to the time of day, or possibly what we ordered). Not sure I would go back if I was in Vancouver again as there is SOMUCH amazing food, but I wouldn’t be upset if I ended up in Memphis Blues again.

This place is a chain. So while the, food of the chain is good this location is awful the service is horrible. They have a few servers whom are tolerable but one of them was belligerent and drinking on the job. When came time to notify the manager she was anything but courteous. I suppose standing by ur staff is a nice trait but not when u have ppl drinking on the job. I would not suggest this place to anyone. But definitely go to the commercial or Broadway location.

Being from south of the Mason-Dixon, Barbeque runs in the blood. Memphis has set an established and solid entry into BBQ here in Vancouver. While they claim Tennessee heritage, the sauce isn’t quite sweet enough, and for a North Carolinan that’s a great thing. Great meat, just the right heat on the sauce, a solid pass at corn bread, along with a selection of bourbon and beer. You bet i’m a fan.

It’s finger licking good — literally — so get ready to get down and dirty. The place is very laid back, cool music in the background, lots of good food at a very affordable price, I loved the ribs and corn bread and if I ever went back to Van, I’d definitely want to go back to this place.

My wife and I had this joint about 3 blocks from the Four Seasons in Downtown Vancouver on our 5 day vacation from Minneapolis. We entered and they had baseball going on the two screens going, cool touch. They also had some great blues playing in the background. We were greeted by a fantastic lady behind the counter and I ordered the combo pulled pork and smoked chicken sandwich special and she had no problem subbing the baked beans for the other sides they offered. I also got the coleslaw as my second side. I ordered a cheap $ 4.25 lager beer, which was great to see in Vancouver since beer is crazy expensive there. About 5 minutes later they brought the corn bread my wife ordered and my dishes. I have had a lot better in the Cities, but this wasn’t bad at all. It was pretty moist and came on a nice bun. They had a spicy BBQ sauce, which I slathered on the chopped up meat and it was above average. The corn bread was a little dry, but I dipped it in the baked beans to moisten it up. I have had a heck of a lot better baked beans, but they were not bad or anything. Just kind of bland. The coleslaw was solid, but just about average again. The service was fantastic though, and the servers actually seemed to enjoy being there, which is always a plus. The prices were very reasonable, and it is about the only chance for BBQ in Vancouver we saw, so it was a solid late lunch.

MEAT! On a sunny Friday afternoon, 4 friends/co workers were hungry. We walk by Memphis Blues and decided to get the smallest platter. It came with a bit of everything, — pulled pork, beef brisket, ribs, sausages, corn bread, fries, beans, coleslaw and potato salad. It was the perfect amount of food for 4 people because we destroyed that thing! Note — If you have to concentrate at work, don’t drink and over do yourself on the platters. We all have food coma now.
