Mr Hobbs Barber Shop

This barbershop never disappoints. I’ve been getting my haircuts from Michael and Miriam for the last few years and the consistency is amazing. They are efficient, accommodating, and considerate professionals. If you’re looking for a great barbershop, look no further!

Got a great haircut — listened to what I wanted and knew exactly how to cut it!

Reasonably priced, especially when you consider that he is one of the best in Vancouver, if not the best. Don’t forgot to ask him about his experiences, his got lots to tell.

I don’t know if it was perhaps an off day, but I wasn’t overly impressed with either the haircut or the service. The haircut seemed kind of rushed and they really didn’t give me what I wanted despite asking several times for a change. I ended up leaving because it was «close enough.» It was $ 27 which was way too high in my opinion. I’ve since found a barber for under $ 20 who does just as good of a job.

Went today for a second visit. Asked Michael to do the same as last. Results were even better. He definitely wasn’t as busy as he was one the Saturday. Looks like I may have found my go to place for a fade.

After seeing such great reviews on Unilocal I thought id give this barber a try. I have to say I was disappointed. I found that he was to quick and lacked attention to detail. Considering it wasn’t busy I was surprised I was finished so quick. I wish he would of spent more time and used a blade to tidy up my edges. If you’re going to charge for a beard trim I expect my neck line and jaw line to be neatly close shaven. Had to spend the time myself afterwards to remove the stubble he left by trimming with a shaver.

Lovely shop and very nice staff. Husbands hair cut was not great in the end — disappointed with the result although he had a good experience overall. Not sure he will visit again.

The Boy was in need of a haircut. He searched high and low and found a barber with perfect reviews — at a place where I used to get my eyelashes done!
Mr. Hobbs was open for business at 10am. We were at the shop at 10:10am and already there was a gentleman getting his hair cut by Mr. Hobbs. It’s a first-​come-​first-​serve basis and no appointments are taken which is very fair!
The shop was decorated quite quaintly and very British. The barber chair was super cushiony, a football match was going on between Liverpool FC and some other team. I loved the view of the street while I was in the shop.
We waited for about 10 minutes before Mr. Hobbs was available. The Boy wanted a totally different haircut. Mr. Hobbs gave suggestions and after some quiet discussion, Mr. Hobbs diligently and precisely went to work. Watching Mr. Hobbs give a haircut is like watching an artist paint a blank canvas. I urge you to notice how he holds his scisscors and buzzer — very unique.
The Boy was 100% satisfied after the cut was complete and was smiling from face to face the whole day. We went for lunch and walked around Granville and by the time we passed by Mr. Hobbs’ shop again, all the waiting chairs were full of gentleman waiting for their haircuts.
The Boy has already penciled in when his next visit to Mr. Hobbs will be. He was beyond impressed!

Gave me exactly what I asked for and my haircut looked even better than what I pictured in my head. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend to anyone searching for a barber.

From out of town wasn’t sure where to go decided on this place based exclusively on Unilocal reviews. I was thrilled that no appointment was needed. the gentleman who cut my hair was friendly and very professional and recommended I try a little different style and wear it longer than I usually do. The cut was well done I’m unsure of the style but I will give it a try. He went as far as to tell me if I don’t love it I can come back and he will fix it. Overall a very positive experience. Highly recommend it.

Found this place through Unilocal.Didn’t have a lot of reviews though, but the reviews were very good. Went in with a friend for his haircut and beard trimming. HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! The cut was amazing and precise while the trim was clean. NO RESERVATION NEEDED. You can just walk-​in, and depending on how busy it is, you will be accommodated right away. You will be acknowledged and greeted right when you walk in through the door. Michael is a very entertaining chap as well. You will not be bored while getting your haircut done!

Michael has been doing my hair for years. He is very skilled in his craft and friendly with his clients. The haircut is reasonably priced too (30 $), if you are looking for a barber in this area, I would recommend going to him.

In every city, there is an absolutely meticulous but down to earth barber. Michael and his team is Vancouver’s home to amazing hair cuts — and thus is our such place. Be sure to ask Michael about his years in the United Kingdom developing his axing skills.

Just walked in and greeted warmly. A lovely clean space and the price for a cut is great $ 30. Michael has a great eye for cut shape and does an amazing job. This is my new go-​to! Definetely will recommend to all my friends.

Idk how this place only got 13 reviews not including mines. I referred to Unilocal to look do for a good barbershop and it led me to this place and you know what this place is gold. What caught my eye is when I read Michael (the barber) was from London and right away this guy will know his stuff and will fit my taste of style.
I really like how he takes his time and meticulously cut my hair and used a blade to do my edgings to clean me up. Not only that it ended with a hot towel around my face. He’s old school too. No appointments needed. The experience was great and he mos def knows what he wants best for your hair. And the accent just made it that more legit. Also very reasonable price compared to these other barbers that charge $ 40.
Will be seeing him again in a couple months. Mahalo Michael

Great guy and takes the time to tell you why he’s doing something even though he really doesn’t need to. Mike gets busy so its a matter of timing.

This barber is top notch! I am always skeptical about barbers but Mike knows what he is doing, and is reasonably priced. It is obvious he has years of experience. Would highly recommend him and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Just went to get my hair cut today after reading the good reviews on Unilocal.It was a really good experience with great service. The shop has a nice modern feel to it and huge mirrors. I loved the barber chairs they were super comfortable.
My cut turned out great. We talked through what I wanted and he checked throughout to make sure it was the way I wanted. The hot towel at the end was a really nice touch. They take debit and cash.
Also the owner has a super cool model ship that he built himself.
