Nectar is forever my go to juice bar. It’s revitalizing, super fresh and so concentrated. For $ 11.00 you get 500ml and a great glass bottle that’s perfect for reusing. The staff members are really friendly, they answered all my questions of what types of juice there are, when it was produced, and what could help my cold.
They also have another location right in Pacific Centre which makes it PERFECT for on the go juice. The juices are much better than the typical juice bar, they have a lot more impact on flavour and don’t taste watered down at all.

I’ve been drinking Nectar since it’s initial launch and was only available at YYoga. Now seeing it with its adorable store front is such a pleasure. Recently, I have been popping in after my Icon cycle at Eastwood for the «Hydrator», which is an excellent electrolyte replenisher. Definitely swear by this after a big work out.
I also sampled «Charm» which was a beautifully blended juice with fresh cinnamon, ginger, and apple. It had this surprisingly warming quality to it perfect for fall. I love the juice range and the heart and soul that goes into the product.

Nectar is slightly pricier than some of their competitors, but having juice in a glass bottle rather than a plastic bottle is better.
Today I decided to give it a try. The location is located in a not so rough part of the DTES. The simple designs and modern look make it very hip. Nectar offers smoothies and cold pressed juices.
The juice I had was pretty good and fresh, but for $ 11.50 — it’s a once in a while beverage.

Super delicious cold pressed organic juices, and I love the beautiful new location on Hastings. I was a big fan before they had this location and loved seeing their juices offered at various cafes around town. So happy they now have their own space with more variety available! Best juice in Vancouver.

I just love the modern design of this place. Simple, minimal, and definitely trendy.
Upon entering, I was greeted warmly and asked how I was feeling or wanted to feel. I definitely needed an energy boost and she recommended the Leader (Carrot, Orange, Hawaiian Turmeric, Ginger, Lemon, Black Pepper). She gave me a taste before I made a decision and it was definitely delicious! (why don’t my own juices at home ever taste this good!!!) I was worried the carrot would be overpowering, but it tasted mostly of orange, with heightened flavour.
$ 10 for 500ml of juice in a cool bottle that I’ll definitely save.

What a great, feel-​good startup backed by who’s who of Vancouver startup-​success: CEO of Hootsuite, CEO OF Mobilfy and a cofounder who gave birth to YYOGA. But the spot light goes to Tori the Certified Holistic Nutritionist, who is the chief alchemist behind the healthy, organic and sustainable creation offered at Nectar.
My curiosity lead me inside the new and official store on Hastings and I was immediately greeted with warm welcome and was offered to try some of the juices. I liked Tenacity, a blend of beet, green apple, cucumber, lime, ginkgo and biloba leaf. It sure is good detoxifier and cmon when you see «beet» you know it’s totally and especially woman-​friendly.
The Juice menu is classed into Green, Fruit, Root, and Milk based on the dominate ingredients in the drink. And I’d love to try Courage under Green next time because it does sound like you need some courage to gulf down a blend of leafy greens including kale, green chard and basil etc.
The Adaptogen Latte sounded cool too, as per Tori’s explanation that instead of more coffee on top of your morning coffee, organic herbal boost would do the job along with almond milk. Wicked, I wouldn’t want to breath out coffee breath throughout the day.
Another key point worthy of mentioning is that the juice is cold pressed. Now what does that mean and why is it significant? Instead of «chopping action» from rotating blades to extract the juice, a hydraulic press is used to crush the fruits and press the juice. The juice would taste fresher and retain all the enzymes that would otherwise would be lost in the other method due to heat from spinning of the blade. Of course there are debates on the validity of this claim but that’s perhaps outside the scope of Unilocal.
You will also notice various jars sitting against the wall and these are myriad healthy organic powders that you can add to your drink or food. Very interesting indeed as I saw labels such as Pine Pollen and Mucuna Pruriens.
The most intriguing item would be the Plasma Marine shots containing full spectrum of minerals, trace elements and organic micronutrients as they occur under natural oceanic conditions. Tori said is would be phase two, where you can take that shot before drinking the juice.
All in all I’m impressed with the concept, quality of ingredients and execution. At $ 11/​500ml bottle, I thought it is worthy of the price but I wonder if Kits would be a better location for it?

Best juice downtown. Those who know this stuff just know it. I love that this place finally has a brick and mortar.

Cold press juice is the new pink. I had the watermelon, lime and rock salt one. I like how you can taste a bit of the salt, however, was not overpowering at all which balanced against the sweetness. I like the touch of basil as well. 8 oz = $ 6 which seems to be the going rate in the city for cold press juices.

It’s hard to find 100% organic these days, but Nectar Juicery uses only organic produce to make their amazing cold pressed juice. This is by far the healthiest thing you can put in your body in Vancouver and every one of their juices tastes amazing… If you need more variety, greens, helthy veggies… you’ve got to find a nectar.
