Pretty good sushi! The«sunshine roll» has prawns and salmon roe, which is a cool combination I haven’t seen before. Overall, tastes great, service is pretty speedy, and the price was alright.

I am writing this review as I eat and I can already feel an uneasiness in my stomach. I used to come here on my lunch break all the time as I worked down the block. Today, I was craving sushi and was in a time crunch — O «what a mistake» Sushi. I ordered the gyoza bento — it came within seconds after it was put in. The gyoza are soaked in oil and the salad is decent. As for the california rolls, they taste awful(versus your generic california roll). The miso soup is probably the best thing in this bento. Not sure if I will come back. $ 12 could be spent elsewhere.

Sushi was pretty standard but rice was undercooked. Also the prices seem to be steadily increasing since they opened. Every time I go there(maybe once every 6 months), I’m reminded why I don’t frequent the place. There is better quality sushi all over downtown with a better price point.

I really like all the food here! The genmaicha is delicious and I love how I can fill up as much as I want(which is always a considerable amount since genmaicha is heaven on earth) The beef donburi, udon, the bento boxes. Everything tastes really good. Unless I’m imagining it, there really is so much flavour in the dishes here than any other fast-food-esque sushi joint in Vancouver that I’ve come across so far. I’ve come here at least 20 times and every single time it’s tasted as good. The last time I was here however — the tea, miso soup, and donburi were cold. I’m willing to hope this is a rare occurrence.

Ordered the spicy salmon 3 days ago and after eating got sick and have had severe cramps and abdominal pain ever since. I’m now having to get medical treatment!

My husband and I go to this place everytime we crave sashimi and sushi. The service is fast, the people that work there are super friendly, food tastes excellent and is conveniently located in downtown vancouver.

Been to the restaurant a few times for take out. Each time I ordered something there, I was disappointed. The tea tastes like boiled water. No tea taste. The Sashimi is so thin, it’s transparent. The last straw was today and I should have taken a photo to show you, ’cause you wouldn’t believe me. For $ 12.60, I ordered a Tuna sashimi salad. I received 5 paper thin pieces of tuna(measuring slightly bigger than 1 cm x 4 cm!!) on top of a bed of rusty shredded lettuce. The tuna was so thin, that it was practically transparent! Shouldn’t lettuce come with salad dressing? or more than just iceberg lettuce? It was so disgusting that I should have just went to Hubbub for a hearty salad for less than $ 10. Sorry, not recommended!

Nicely made sushi, but tastes like an average sushi. Portion is not too big and the price is okay. I can go elsewhere for a better deal though. Self serve restaurant with fast service. Staff gives you buzzer and it vibrates once your order is ready. I ordered Dynamite Combo($ 8.93 including tax) and tempura in the filling wasn’t fresh. O sushi runs by Koreans and their sushi is passable. My overall experience was okay.

If you like bad sushi made by Korean students, this is the place to go. Overpriced and horrible tasting food. Be aware, tourist trap!

This place is kinda like a McDonald’s in that it’s built like a fast food Sushi restaurant. The fish here is really fresh and same as the rice. When you order they give you this pager that buzzes when your order is ready. It’s really a different kind of sushi restaurant. I’m not sure what to make out of it. It’s not like cafeteria sushi like you’d have at a school, but it’s not a restaurant either. And maybe that’s what I kind of miss is having someone serve me sushi. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I can only describe it as in between, like a Burger King or McDonald’s for sushi. It’s worth a try. Pricing was ok for what it was. Sushi is very fresh.

I came just before the lunch rush on the weekend. I got my basic avocado sushi with cucumber. Prices were cheap for something basic, customer service was fast(I was the only one there at the time). My sushi wasn’t anything to write home about. Then again I just sticked to something safe and basic.

Ordered a C combo($ 9.95) which originally comes with tuna, ebi, salmon sushi(2 pcs each) and tuna maki(6 pieces). I asked for all salmon and they changed it for me without any extra charge. Salmon didn’t look fresh, but it tasted good actually. I just wished they used less sushi rice, and seasoned more with vinegar. The sushi rice wasn’t seasoned enough. Affordable prices, decent quality, good for a quick bite during office lunch hours. But. I don’t think I would return here as I can find better places in downtown…

I was a bit disappointed with the portion sizes. It looked squeezed together. The pictures on the wall distorted my perception of the sizes. The Killer Roll was pretty good. If you don’t like mayonnaise, steer clear of this dish. The simple salmon maki was better even though it was small in portion. Would I come back? Maybe. Would I recommend this place? Sure, maybe someone else might have a better experience than I did.

I like this place for sushi. Is conveniently located right in the middle of downtown near Pacific Center and the Granville/Georgia transit hub. Sushi is actually pretty reasonably priced considering it’s downtown with a 6 piece salmon roll costing only $ 2.75. I found the sushi to be tasty and fresh and have yet to have a bad experience.

Next to the canada line station, generally not too hard to find seating, reasonably priced comboes, the food is fine. free wifi, free tea. Overall very convenient and good. I like the phone things they give you that buzz when your order is ready. Smart. I would like to see more soy sauce bottles along the counter though so I dont scramble around looking for one or at least provide it in the little cup with my tray. Thanks.

This is how sushi shouldn’t taste. Having had the office but sushi yesterday for us I decided to try them myself. I’ll first say that yesterday I had the spicy roll combo with black rice and it was fantastic until I saw the mayo in one of the«not supposed to have mayo-I’m allergic» rolls. Gee what fun. Thankfully I noted before consuming so the epi pen stayed put away. HOWMANYTIMESDOESONENEEDTOASKFORNOMAYO?! Today upon ordering I asked for«NOMAYO» due to allergy. I mentioned yesterday’s mayo fun and they seemed to not care. I adamantly stated NOMAYO a few more times during the ordering, paying and food arrival/retrieval stages. It was nice to not hear people calling out orders that were ready-the handout pager system worked well. However: Sashimi bento: pancake battered cold tempura, odd textured salmon, mushy tuna, not enough wasabi, tasty but almost cold teriyaki chicken, yummy green salad. Spinach gomae: looks unappealing but was good. Can of Ice tea At $ 19! I suggest you eat elsewhere for taste and value.

Didn’t know there was sushi in this area until now. Parking here is horrendous. The inside is very clean and modern. This place is more like a cafeteria-style fast food joint though. Your food comes on a tray, and you have to pick it up. The salmon and tuna chirashi bowl I had had generous portions of fish, and tasted great. However, half the rice portion was actually just shredded daikon. It came with a miso soup though, which is nice. Not the best deal at $ 10, but you’re downtown after all. The quality is definitely decent, if you don’t mind paying a buck or two more.

O «never again» sushi. With all the wonderful choices for sushi in Vancouver, this one is a miss. I’ve been walking past for months and decided it was time to try it. The prices are equal to that of a table service joint, but the food, not worth the cost. The tuna sashimi was barely thawed, we had to return it and have it replaced with salmon. The spicy roll combo sounded like a good choice, but was sorely disappointing. Maybe its 21 pieces, but do yourself a favour and walk a few blocks to yamato on Davie st, its cheaper and much better. Our rolls were bulked up with rice, barely any filling and covered in some kind of spicy sauce. I’m talking smothered. And when I went to pick up a maki, it fell apart before it reached the soy sauce. Fast food sushi at best, but priced well out of its quality range. We would have been better served with A&W. Don’t be fooled by the sign outside and give it a miss. All I can say is at least the tables are decently comfortable, thats it.

O sushi, are you kidding me?! This is Vancouver, aka sushi land where within 2 blocks of my work, I have 10… YES10 sushi joints to choose from, and you try to survive with this? Walked by at lunch and looked in — two tables, a few people waiting for food/ordering… can’t be bad, right? I wanted something small to hold me over until an office party later on this afternoon so was looking for a small combo or maybe a couple of rolls. After seeing the prices($ 4.50+tax for one roll !!!), I just settled on having a spicy salmon roll. The sign says that they have the best spicy rolls in town, and my mind set was ‘gee, that’s kinda pricey, but if they are the best, then it’ll be worth it for the mind-blowing quality of it. WELL … the ‘roll’ was 90% rice, and 10% salmon, cucumber, seaweed combined — maybe even less. It’s tiny. I took some pictures for reference because it was just that ridiculous. The taste? Well when you can get through the rice and find a piece of salmon, it’s a the typical spicy salmon roll — nay, it’s probably worst because it was mushy. I really don’t mind paying even $ 8-$ 10 for a roll if it’s great or is on the medium-large side. But what I got at O Sushi was below acceptable and very disappointing. There really is no excuse for having disappointing sushi in this town. I just had to write this review(i don’t ever write them) so that you can skip this place, Unilocalers!
