Pink Lime Salon & Spa

I showed up 15 minutes early as I was getting a facial and you usually need to allow for time to change and get situated, but the doors were locked and stylists were waiting outside with me to be let in. I know I was the first appointment slot of the day, but who shows up at 9am to open their business that’s supposed to open at 9am? I wasn’t in a rush so I was easy going about it, but then I sat in the lobby for a little while before being brought back. My facial was great and relaxing and I felt my aesthetician really knew what she was doing.
Since my hair was gunky post-​facial I asked if anyone had time for a blowout, which they did. I sat in a shampoo chair while people walked by and a few said they’d right with me so I had no idea who was actually going to shampoo my hair. It seemed unorganized. After I was attended to, my stylist was very friendly and did a good job on a simple style for the day.
My aesthetician was apologetic about the delayed start, but past that no one seemed to think it was a big deal. I would have appreciated at least an acknowledgement, but the man who opened had the aire of ‘here I am, you’re welcome for letting you in’.
Conveniently located near the Opus where I was staying for the weekend, but there are a lot of choices in the neighborhood. Read reviews and hopefully find somewhere more relaxing if you’re looking for a more spa-​like experience.

I came here a few weeks ago because I needed my nails done last minute for an event and nowhere else had an opening. For some reason they kept trying to book me for a manicure and a wax… I never even said the word wax.
It was incredibly busy, loud, and crazy when I went in, which I considered a good sign. I was grateful when a girl took me back to a small, quiet cramped room where they have two chairs for pedicures and 2 tables for manicures. I requested gel when I called in, but had to repeat it a few times when I got there to the receptionist and then my manicurist. When the receptionist came back, my manicurist told her to make sure she charged me for gel removal too. At most salons, pricing is something they do at the end of the treatment, quietly and discretely. When my girl did it, I almost felt like I was inconveniencing her for having gel polish already on, something I had made them aware of when calling in.
My girl was quiet, and a bit gruff. I don’t like holding that against people because they might just be having a bad day. There wasn’t much selection in terms of gel colours. I had a bit of a hang nail, which she super glued together and then painted over. A few times, my fingers were definitely twisted and bent into directions they were not made to go, and the overall quality and sturdiness of the gel polish was lacking compared to other places I have been. My nail that she «superglued» ripped further and through the gel halfway home, so I had an uneven, unsightly nail for the next 3 weeks since I refused to go back there, especially when the ordeal cost me $ 60. Just walk up the street to ANY OTHER NAIL SPA! They always have space, and will charge half the price.

I have been going to Pink Lime for over 10 years for my haircuts. I love my stylist and would NEVER go anywhere else. As for their spa packages, they are a complete rip off. I went there 6 weeks ago for a pedicure and to purchase two certificates that were on special for that month. Once the lady rung in my total, I nearly fell down. I paid for the items and asked for a receipt. She told me that I didn’t need one and that she calculated everything correctly. I asked her again for one, and she simply said ‘no’ and helped the next customer (it was very busy in there and I spent over 20 min. waiting to pay my bill). I got angry and left. Once I got home, I called the owner and asked him to look into it, and he did confirm that she had over-​charged me and that he would reverse the charges. The staff at the front desk are very rude and from now on I’ll only be going to them for my haircuts.

This was the first time I’ve been in a salon in a long time and I felt a little uneasy. I walked into one and was not well received. .the staff seemed a little snooty. Walked down the street to Pink Lime and got a warm welcome. stayed and got a wonderful hair makeover. The owner Joseph took care of me himself and knew exactly what I needed and with the help of his professional and friendly stylists I finally got a result that really worked for me. I highly recommend Pink Lime especially if your a newbie like me!

I was in the middle of writing a long, drab review on my experience, but I’ve decided to go short and sweet.
Don’t come here to overpay for their services (hair, nail and massage). They really do charge you way more than they should, given their services are more like a 3 star walk-​in walk-​out place.
If you are looking at this salon as a potential luxury spot as I did, this isn’t it. It’s much too chaotic and staffed with people who don’t know how to deal with such a fast-​paced environment. Also, for the prices they charge, I found their skills sets in hair services to be lacking (between my mother and I, we did cuts, a color and perm — the perm was the most awful — and a couple massages). For your reference, we’ve come here on and off for the past 3 years, thinking each time might be different (but it’s not).
If you absolutely must try it, maybe try to book an appointment in-​person to check out the environment and staff for yourself.

I went to get my hair blown out with clip in extensions. The first stylist didn’t do a great job. When all my curls and shape were out an hour later I went back and had a second jr stylist (Brooke) was amazing and did a great job and put in curls that stuck and listened to me when I told her how my hair works. Only went here because my regular Vancouver stylist was out of town and this salon was convenient. I would only go to see Brooke here.

So I used the Groupon to get a hot stone massage and it was pretty great. I think that was because my masseuse was pretty great. Otherwise I found the place messy, loud and not very relaxing. It’s too small and it doesn’t have enough room for all it’s patrons. The receptionist was very friendly. I’d go back for the hot stone at the same price but I wouldn’t pay $ 100 bucks. For that price, you’re better off going to Spa Utopia. Where you get more for your money! If the Groupon shows up again, I would recommend getting it.

I went here a few weeks back to get my hair and make up done for an event. Initially, the front desk girl was very standoffish. I assume this was because she was tired because by the next day, she was quite lovely. I love that this place gave me tea and coffee. Romeo was fantastic! He was so sweet and really cared about my hair. Anna did my makeup and he was so funny and sweet. I would definitely come back. They made me feel like a queen.

I went for a 60 min hot stone massage and there was total chaos in the salon, it was super busy and from first impression the stylists had a forced smile and seemed overworked. The Asian receptionist definitely made me feel like I was on a conveyor belt. Anyway, she let me in to a small but beautiful roman style spa section tucked away divided by a door, where I sat and she told me to get changed into a robe and provided me with a key. I got served some green tea I couldn’t really taste then I met shelbie the massage therapist. She was super nice and the entire hot stone massage was amazing .but throughout the hour I could hear footsteps, opening and closing of the door, and the commotion going on outside which destroyed the experience. :(I really wanted to just relax. Maybe Pink Lime should provide bring ear plugs to the clients?
I give 3 stars because the experience was good beside from the noise, and the forced friendliness. For the groupons value it was worth it but I don’t recommend paying $ 110 for 60 mins, for that value you could get a much better experience at shangrila spa, willow stream, spa utopia, or Thai smile wellness.

I have gone back twice and have been, overall, happy with the service. The first esthecian was great but, unfortunately left, and my second appointment I had two different esthecian for my mani and pedi. I enjoyed the mani but it was fair for my pedi. I liked the ambiance and service. I thought they may be snobby but I was pleasantly surprised that they were very friendly.
Would return.

When I walked in I was greeted by a nice gentleman at the counter. I was early so I sat and read my book. Nicola came over and introduced herself as my stylist. I was there using a groupon so I never know what to expect.
She was AWESOME! I was hoping for a consulting approach to future colour I wanted done and got it… and she gave me a discount to use on next visit if I get the colour done.
The wash of my hair was good — a little too much spray but I think that’s the water pressure! — and the scalp massage was great.
My hair cut and style left me very happy… thank you!

I have been to Pink Lime for a Brazilian wax twice. The first time the wax went fine, although the waxer wasn’t very friendly. The second time I went will keep me away from Pink Lime forever. Not only was the waxer not friendly, but a day later I realized that she has ripped my skin off and I had a thin scab. Also, I believe she was using the same stick the whole time because the garbage bin was empty.

My husband treated us for a couples massage, pedi and mani as well as an appetizer here and the staff is wonderful.
Beautiful aestheticians and very talented. Very friendly and professional and great ladies.
My husband and I were the last clients and at this time it was around 8:30pm on a Friday night. I was very relaxed, and well, so was my hair and my now faded, tired face. We wanted to have a meal across the way but I didn’t want to go out looking this way and our hotel was 5 blocks away… so…the receptionist offered to do my hair and also asked one of the ladies to do my make up so I felt better before going out!
I was so happy and felt so much better going out to the Keg after that! What a great spa, complete with outstanding individuals!
I highly recommend this place! You will feel very valued!

Booked originally for 4:30 on friday, using a gift certificate from a friend. The GC was originally for a whole package and she assured me I could use it for any services amounting to the same value. Which I confirmed on the phone when booking.
I booked a couples massage, upgraded them to hot stone, and took a good friend for her birthday.
Later the same day I called back and had the appointment changed to 4pm, which the guy on the phone confirmed.
At 3:55 I get a phone call from the salon, from a girl this time, in a snarky voice who asks if I’m still coming and my appointment was for 3:45. I tell her I’m almost there and yes we’re still coming.
We arrive at 4:05 (parking can be tricky) and Ms. Friendly lets me know our treatments will be cut short since we were supposed to arrive at 3:45 and «actually it’s 4:07»… :|
We’re brought to the back, changed into robes, and brought to a tiny, but cozy room. The massages were lovely. Actually really nice. The stones could have been warmer, and left places (or bottoms of feet) which only some spa’s seem to do. But it was relaxing. Afterwards the estheticians had to zip to their next appointment so we hoped into the steam room on our own and made our way back to the lockers and saw ourselves out (no big deal, that was fine). Funny that after all of that we were changed and dressed by 5:15 (should have been 5:30 since our package was 1.5hrs). We didn’t have watches or a clock in the treatment room but it certainly appears our massages were cut short because of their own scheduling mistake.
Back at the desk we stopped only to leave a tip for the girls who did our massage, only to be greeted by everyone’s favorite queen grouch, and the young guy who made the booking mistake. When I booked I gave him the gift certificate number and he said it was great. Suddenly they couldn’t find it, and SHE starts SCOWLING at us across the desk (seriously, what the hell)! I remembered the GC number and recited it three times, they finally found it and they start trying to tell me I owe them $ 55 more dollars for the treatment…
I looked at them blankly, let them know I didn’t, it was all taken care of from the gift certificate and the money on the counter was for the girls.
He looks back to the screen, sees who bought the gift for me (a regular there) and all is suddenly fine, and the girl walks away suddenly.
I REALLY wanted to love this place, I really did. Friends of mine come often and are close with the owners so I had high expectations.
Bottom line, it was their mistake and my experience suffered. If they had called to confirm appointments (like most salons and spa’s) this could have been avoided.
As for the girl with the short hair, there is no excuse for an attitude like hers.

I’ve been getting my hair cut here for about a year. I was tempted to try it out for the first time when they had a Groupon deal. I had the good fortune of booking an appointment with Jeremiah, who is a total sweetheart and one of the very few hairstylists I’ve ever found who knows how to work with my hair type. I have baby fine, stick straight hair and lots of it, and I prefer to keep it long. Almost all stylists make the mistake of cutting it too bluntly so that my hair ends up heavy on the ends and flat on top, or cutting too many layers so that my hair looks thin. Jeremiah cuts it just right, so I ask for him every time.

Great friendly staff and I had an amazing service. My hair was colored and it was a wonderful experience. Im sold!

I absolutely loved the service at Pink Lime!
My and my sister desperately needed a haircut since neither of us had one in at least 8 months! We settled on this place, mainly because they have an awesome Groupon deal for cuts. My sister arrived first and received, what she calls «the best scalp massage EVER», I must agree with her.
My hairstylist was amazing, I love how my hair flows now, instead of just being there.

This was my first visit to the Pink Lime Salon & Spa in Yaletown. Being a Vancouverite, I remember when this place opened in the late 1990s. There was a lot of «buzz» around this place, especially for haircuts. I was thrilled to see a daily deal site offer a voucher for their spa services ($ 49 for mani/​pedi/​massage — each 30 minutes). Here are some comments:
Pros: Staff are friendly and try hard to do a good job. Convenient location near a skytrain station. OPI is used for nails and there is a very good selection of colors.
Cons: If you’re going to the spa, don’t expect a serene environment. You need to go through the salon which is busy and loud. Inside the spa, they pipe in «spa» music, but it is very, very loud, likely to drown out the noise from the salon and from the other rooms.
Notes: This place has seen its day and both the salon and spa need to be refurbished. There are 4 pedicure chairs in the back that are tightly crammed in together. While I saw the girls spray them down with what looked like disinfectant, they did not run each of the jetted footbaths to clean them (minimum 30 minutes required for full sanitation).
The voucher wasn’t a great deal in retrospect. There wasn’t enough time for a proper pedicure to be completed. No foot filing at all. No nail trimming for either the mani/​pedi. I would say that Pink Lime is «ok» and would go back, if (and only if) there was a good voucher deal offered.

I happened upon this salon last weekend when I was in the area getting my hair done for an event. My brows were on the scraggly side and needed a touch up. I first stopped by Bombay Brow Bar but was turned off by the fact that they wanted to charge me $ 25 for a full service, despite the fact that my brows were already well shaped (I get them threaded every few weeks) and didn’t want any brow makeup done (I’m a trained makeup artist and was going to do my own makeup later). The points I have given Pink Lime here are purely because the staff were very friendly and pleasant. I’ve never had anyone take 20 whole minutes to do my brows (unless it included a face massage), because, as I mentioned before, I keep my brows pretty well groomed and shaped. The waxer ripped and tweezed my brows down so much it’ll likely take me months to grow them back in — or at least one of them, because they’re lopsided. Even if I did frequent Yaletown, which I don’t, I wouldn’t be back

I’ve been here a couple of times, and each time it failed to impress. The first time I had a facial and the girl was rude, and the facial was nowhere near as nice as you can get elsewhere.
But the worst experience I had was when I went with some girlfriends, and when some of us were done a few minutes before the others, we decided to wait for them in the lounge area. No problem, right? WRONG. Several times a member of their staff not-​so-​subtlely suggested we leave, even after we explained we were just waiting for our group to be done. We weren’t being loud or disruptive at all, either.
Overall, really not impressed and will not be going back. Too many other nice spas in the area to waste my time on this mediocre place!
