Point Grey Eyecare

I had been wearing gas permeable rigid contact lenses for decades and finally accepted that I needed a pair of bi-​focal or multi-​focal rigid contact lenses, an inherently challenging thing to get right to say the least.
I checked around, making inquiries to various places, including a few that received overall very high rated reviews and have had many more reviewers on the Unilocal.I eventually decided on Point Grey Eyecare for two simple reasons: (1) Dr. Ng, the optometrist, is experienced in fitting gas permeable lenses, even bifocal, and (2) Boris is the only other person working there (so I suspect I do not need to pay much overhead costs) who appears to be knowledgeable about eye glasses including their quality, selections, and costs, and who immediately gained my trust when I spoke with him, first over the phone and then in person at the store.
I was happy with my decision and it turned out that my first impressions above were right on. Dr. Ng ordered for me the contact lenses with the material that allows the highest oxygen to pass through (I did my research in advance so I knew what I would like to get and Dr. Ng ordered exactly that). The first pair did not meet my needs, so a second pair was ordered, which still did not work well enough for me. Additional modification had to be made. Finally, on our 3^rd attempt, I finally have a pair that fits my vision needs. We started in late October and by the time we were both happy, it was already close to the Christmas. Throughout the whole process Dr. Ng was always patient, courteous, and professional. She is certainly very knowledgeable. It has been a pleasure to have Dr. Ng help me with my vision needs.
Boris is the optician and is also the owner of this business. He interacts with customers, make glasses, order materials, book appointments etc. Boris is direct, sincere, and can tell me exactly how much each kind of materials would cost. He even suggested that I use the frame of my old glasses to fit new lenses to cut cost when I was still contemplating a pair of eye glasses instead.
At Point Grey Eyecare, one gets the combination of quality care and services, as well as excellent prices (a pleasant surprise given where the store is located). Needless to say, I sent my wife there to get her prescription glasses and I know I will continue to recommend this place to others.

If there was ever any doubt, today just affirmed it. Rushing from DT, initially I was distraught to see the ‘closed’ sign at 6pm, late by 30min.
As I walked a few stores down, Boris opened the door and called, ‘excuse me’, nice touch! Recognized me, explained I wanted to quickly double check on those Prada frames. Turned out to be another 30min!
Ended up finding another possible pair, the final two…
And he’s very upfront too, unlike recent experience at Mount Pleasant Optometry, a review for later on… explained all the prices for the lenses that he carries.

The location of these Vancouver optometrists made them an easy choice, and the way that I’ve been treated has made me confident that I made the right choice. Everyone here is so nice, and they are wonderful with my eye health.

These Vancouver optometrists have helped me with many serious eye issues. Because of my issues, I can’t really rely on anybody but those who have massive amounts of expertise, and this is one of the only local places that fits that bill.

I really
loved the great eyewear selection here. They had so many brands that I had
never seen before outside of specialized dealer. I was particularly happy
with the amount of Dolce & Gabbana that they had in stock.

The
pediatric exams are very well administered. The people who deal with the
children are also very good at making sure my children feel comfortable and
safe. Overall, I think the environment here is better for pediatric practice
than any other eye doctor I’ve worked with in the past.

My son
feels very safe here when he is getting his eye appointments done. He is
generally shy and a little scared of other people, so it means a lot to me
that they work with children so effectively.

I am very satisfied with the pediatric care at Point Grey. They are great at getting kids to calm down, and they were happy to answer all the questions that I had about keeping my child’s eye development healthy.

I’ve had several procedures done at point grey in Vancouver. I like working with them. The optometrists seem happy to put forth the effort to make me comfortable for everything that happens. Some of them know me by name now, and that’s a lot more than I expect from a optometry office.

I just love the selection that they have on eyewear in Point Grey Eyecare. I never thought that I looked that good in glasses until I found some of the brands that they carry here. I now have several pairs that I love to wear.

I always try to stay fashionable so, of course, my eye wear has to be of top quality. The optometrists at Point Grey Eyecare have a great selection of eye glasses that look and feel fantastic. It’s good to know that I don’t have to sacrifice style with them.
