I did not have a good experience with Pomegranite Community Midwives. In particular, Rachel Rees, who is a junior midwife that made a serious error with my pregnancy and then later lied about the what happened to the other midwives in her clinic. Her error caused me great pain, grief and stress in my 2nd trimester, which presented a serious complication. I implore you to please stay away from her. Her midwife team conducted a review of my file and it was determined that her facts didn’t add up to what actually happened. I am trying to decide whether it’s worth filing an official complaint with the College of Midwives — I called them to find out the process and I was surprised to hear that they only make public that there was«a complaint»; they don’t actually reveal what the complaint was specifically about to the public(even after the investigation is completed and she is found guilty)! I am hoping my review will serve to help other women looking for a quality midwife. We are all human; we all make mistakes. What made a bad situation worse was that rather than admit to the error, she tried to lie and cover it up. I have no respect for this woman and I hope she has a short career as a midwife. I left the clinic during my pregnancy and for a time, was completely without care. In their words, they actually said, «we have very little experience with your particular issue». The damage had been done at this point and I no longer trusted them, so we left. As an aside, I also found Rachel to be very judgmental and too much of a feminist. She always questioned in a critical and admonishing tone why my spouse wasn’t with me at the appointments. He travels for work and was sometimes out of town… do I need to explain or justify myself? The receptionist was also incredibly rude and snippy every time I called or attended an appointment.
