Description

Specialties

All our food is locally sourced, fresh and never frozen which means our prices are a little higher than what you would expect for a bar in our neighbourhood but you can taste the quality. We serve 20oz pints. None of this 14oz sleeve stuff you get most other places, which is also reflected in our pricing. BUT you’re getting a better deal per ounce here. We support and serve local craft breweries such as Storm Brewing, Bomber Brewing and Powell Street Brewery as well as Central City.

We have live music every night of the week, check out our website’s event page for details.

We are huge Canucks fans and give away prizes during every game, including chances to win tickets!

We also support the local Renfrew Lions Club by holding meat draws every Friday and Saturday evening, with proceeds going to help Lions Club community projects.

More than anything else we are community here and act as a venue for people from the neighbourhood to meet and enjoy a night out with their friends and make new ones while experiencing local live musical talent.

Come join us and be a part of something fun and social!

History

Established in 1912.

When the hotel opened there was a bank on the main floor, a branch of the Canadian Bank of Commerce, with P M Cochrane’s drug store next door and the Princeton Rooms upstairs managed by Mary Killeen. The bank closed in the early 1920s, and in 1925 the corner unit was vacant. The Cedar Cove Drug Store (with a sub post office) was next door. J J Murphy was running the Princeton Apartments upstairs. A year later the Princeton Hotel Beer Parlour (managed by J E Green) had taken over all of the main floor and the Princeton Hotel operated upstairs as a rooming house — and that’s the way things are today, 88 years later.
