The place to go for my fav heart-pumping and sweaty workouts. I found them initially through a Groupon and it was the best purchase ever. I’ve been to their Spin and Circuit classes and enjoyed all of them. My fav is Mike’s classes, he’s one of the only trainers I’ve had who pushes me to the max(when you realize how fit he is.). Staff are all so friendly, someone always greets you when you come in. The service from the front desk is great! They go out of their way to make sure you’re enjoying your time. Lockers, showers and amenities are wonderful as well. There’s also free parking underneath, what more can you ask for?

My latest obsession… Spinning. Loud beats that induce buckets of sweat pouring make for an intense 60 minutes of cardio. I. Love. It. My favourite instructor is Dominique who teaches spin on Tuesday + Thursday nights and Saturday mornings. She is full of spirit, spunk… and oodles and oodles of energy. She’s personable, friendly and, oh, she even takes song requests. It’s the first time in my life, fitness wise, that I’ve been pumped to get up and get to class. I surprise myself when I arrive 10 minutes early, ready to sweat. Rep1 recently upgraded their bikes, so it’s a superior«riding» experience. I like that they offer the first class for free which left me with no excuses not to try it out. After that, classes are $ 20 a session, or 10 for $ 150. Their online booking system is about 10 years out of date(slight exaggeration) which makes navigating online a pain in the neck, but it’s not enough to have a hissy fit over :) Now onto the gym itself. Rep1 isn’t your standard issue gym with grunts and groans coming from the gym rats checking out themselves in the mirror while they kiss their biceps. It’s a personal trainer gym, meaning it’s pro trainers all the way. The equipment is well spaced out, new-ish and the trainers that work there(both independent contractors and staff) are low key and friendly. It’s deep into the heart of Kitsilano, but you can’t beat the free street + underground parking it’s got going on.

Great gym for personal training! Well layed out, lots of equipment, very friendly, experienced trainers and a comfortable environment. The changing rooms are huge and away from the gym floor with many lockers(locks supplied), showers and post workout necessities(shampoo, soap, mouthwash, hair dryer, etc). Highly recommended for anyone looking for a personal trainer!

The vibe here is totally pro, while still being fun. I’ve been to spin class several times, it was a great work out and the music selection was right up my alley. I’ve also had several personal training sessions with them and found the training to be excellent. I would recommend the place to my friends, it’s great. Side Note: The CBC is running a show called«Village On A Diet» and Mike Veinot, one of the owners at Rep1, is one of the main trainers on the show. Sort of fun, if you want a celebrity trainer, Mike is the guy to ask for :)
