At River Run Cottages, romance and relaxation is our specialty. Each of our Vancouver bed and breakfast cottages is set for you to enjoy the company of your special someone.

A two course gourmet breakfast is served in the privacy of your own cottage. So you can take the time for the simple things couples do: take a ride on our bikes to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary or explore the river estuary on our tandem kayaks for two.

Also available is the Handford House vacation rentals — for those of our guests looking for longer and more independent stay. The Heritage and Fraser Suite are complete with a fully equipped kitchen and all the amenities of home for a self catering vacation experience.

History

Established in 1993.

River Run began with the quaint float-​home named Waterlily in the spring of 1993. It is handcrafted similar to a English sailing vessel. Jan Harkley had always wanted to be in the hospitality industry — so the transformation began. At the time, the upper buildings were rental units. As the tenants moved, the cottages were renovated and the B&B grew. The kitchen and office were built in the spring of ’94. The Keeper’s Quarters and the Northwest Room were finished in 1997. In that same year, Deb and Terry came aboard as partners. River Run has now turned a new page in its life with Barb and Will taking over the responsibility for its care in June 2000. As the new hosts they are committed to maintaining the traditions of personal service enjoyed by River Run guests for many years to come. All the cottages have been renewed and updated. In 2007 the Handford House, a 100 year old heritage home renewed to provide self catering suites for those of our guests wanting a longer stay.

Business Owner

Will is the smooze and pay the bills guy of the team. He works for Telus in the Fibre Optic Cable field when he’s not found puttering around River Run. His many years as an officer in the army reserve have proven valuable in establishing an easy rapport with guests and ensuring breakfast gets out on time!
