Ok I guess if you know me worth a lick you’ve heard me say this a ton of times… ‘Beauty is Transitory!’… Usually when I say this I get the WTF look and/​or the deer caught between the headlights look! Haha! Transitory… as in swiftly passing… i.e. beauty does not last…
Ok given my views on the transitory nature of beauty what the heck am I doing in Cosmetic/​Beauty store? hahah! I was looking for a good exfoliant and a good moisturizer. I’ve been using the OTC stuff and I wanted to get something a little better. My friend FF works at Shifeon and she has been on me constantly to come by her store! Well I finally made it and I’m glad I did!
I enjoyed my experience at Shifeon. Centrally located at Oakridge Mall this store is a gem! The store is tidy, and attractive looking. The staff acknowledged my presences but were not overly aggressive trying to sell me something. I had to approach them and ask them questions before I received some individual attention.
I can’t remember the girl’s name that I talked to but I found her knowledgeable. She also asked me questions about my skin. I told her my skin (face) felt especially dry in the winter. She did not assume things about me. She made an effort to get to know me (come to think of it maybe she was trying to pick me up?! Hahaha)!
Look at all the stuff I got!!! I purchased an exfoliant and a moisturizer and I got *8* sample tubes!!! I got eye serum, after-​shave, cleansers, wash off, facial mask… and a $ 10 off coupon on my next purchase! Wow! Groovy!!! Also, I like how the girl took the time to explain to me how to use each of the samples and how frequently I could use them.
Overall, I’m trying to make a point to look after myself better. If you’re willing to pay a bit more and get better service and better beauty products Shifeon is worth a gander…

If you are in need of some good quality facial products, then Shifeon may be for you. Located inside the convenient Oakridge mall, you will find the most explicit luxurious brands ranging from nail polish to serums. The store is nice and clean and people there are super friendly and helpful if you ever need advice on certain products. They do have some high-​end products for facial products from Sweden etc and I think you probably can’t get from anywhere else. They always have promotions such as 10 $ off coupons if you spend 50 $ etc. If you are ever unsure if a product is good for you or not, just ask them for a sample and they are always generous with that!

Very nice and helpful staff. The store stocks all the best brands of nail polishes and accessories. Top of the lines of skin care products from spas (Yonka, Darphin, Thalgo, Guerlain, ect. I always buy my nail polishes here because they have all the latest collections here and always in stock.

Just found out they sell Eminence products! now don’t have to wait until the annual spa trade show in DT Vancouver lol.
of course, this organic line isn’t cheap but well worth the long-​term looks.
Impressed by its round glass table in the back, for sit-​down consultation.
Even carry some Hello Kitty gadgets, though not the pencil variety but for the home stuff: soap dispensers shaped like a cat or kitten or whatever it is. Pink too, yikes.
Impressive customer service, she gave me a napkin to wipe off the tester for the gel facial cleanser.

There is no Sephora in Oakridge and I hope they put one there someday soon because they are my top choice. Aside from Shifeon, Murale is another beauty store in Oakridge. I visit both Shifeon and Murale (right across each other) the same day to look at the specials they have. Shifeon often has specials for different brands each time. I like Darphin so they usually have a gift bag if you spend over a certain amount. Also, they give tooonnneeess of samples. Which is really helpful in experimenting the product before buying! Murale doesn’t have that — just the optimum points and I only like to buy when it is 10X or 20X the points weekend. Murale does not give specials.
There is always staff to assist you as soon as you enter the store, which I like for make up and skin care products because I usually have questions. Their specials for each brand changes all the time. I usually like Darphin and they have bonus rewards if you spend a certain amount throughout the year. They also have gift certificates of $ 10 for every $ 50 you spend. You can use it for your next purchase with an expiry date of 3 months. This comes in handy. I have seen Sothy’s, Phytomer, and Guerlain specials too. This is one store that does carry Phytomer (neither Sephora nor Murale do).
They also give lots of samples which is really helpful. Even with the specials of if you spend a certain amount, you get the gift bag they will still give the gift bag if you spend very close to that amount (ie: $ 220 versus $ 250). But I did go recently and the one lady did not do it this time even though I have come to this store for years and they were much more lenient, which I appreciated. Perhaps it depends on the staff you work with that day.
To comment on a previous post regarding the different smell of the perfume, my guess would be that the perfume is authentic, however, that particular item may have been old and stale. I have also purchased perfume where it was stale (not here but another store) and the smell is definitely not the same. I would have returned it and let them smell it along with your receipt with proof of purchase of a recent date and they should have exchanged it.
