We had James at Shilo build an entertainment unit for us. We were very disappointed with the final product. The shelves weren’t finished and although we gave him a sample of the stain colour and finish it was not even close. If you are planning to have something made by them to match something you already have you might want to think twice about Shilo.

It takes a little patience to find the treasure, however, some good pieces and then there are some project pieces. Customer service was friendly.

I recently bought two pieces of furniture from Shilo Living. One great feature of this shop is that you get to meet the designer and he’ll custom make your furniture to your specifications. I think the furniture is really reasonably priced when you consider that stuff at Pottery Barn and the like are mass produced and cost as much, if not more. Why not support a small business and get your wood furniture in the exact size, shape, and colour that you want?

I really like the furnishings that Shilo Living has. Mostly they carry vintage-looking, well built, quality furnishings that are typically made from solid wood and are finished(sometimes painted, sometimes not) to look antiqued. Things here are a bit pricey, but not more than you might expect to pay for quality home furnishings that also happen to be rather tasteful. In addition to lots of things like dressers, china cabinets, trunks and the like, this store also has quirky items like vintage(looking) signs with funny slogans like«No Public Nudity» — just in case you needed to proclaim that in your own home.
