I’ve bought many TV’s here through the years and they have always had the best prices. They’ve never tried to upsell me a $ 100 power bar, a 50HDMI cable or a useless overpriced extended warranty. Even the delivery charges are the most reasonable in the city.
It’s great to see a local business surviving the invasion of big box stores.
For the reviewer who gave ONE STAR for not allowing returns — the owners have always been clear that they do not accept refunds or exchanges. The warranties are provided by the manufacturer. Not allowing returns doesn’t deserve one star. Perhaps being told that you can return something and then not allowing it later might deserve one star, but being upfront with their customers and never hiding anything deserves better than that.
I will continue to buy all my TV’s here and always recommend it to my friends.

Bought my TV here. Beat every single price I could find online for Canada (with shipping and taxes in, of course — apple to apple comparison!) and at Best Buy, Future Shop and NCIX. Didn’t even have to haggle because the price was already awesome.
I was still undecided between a Samsung and aa Sony and the owner was so honest and upfront about her opinion about quality etc, that she ended up making less money selling me the one she told me was better overall. Who does that!!! Someone who’s in it for the long haul.
They do NOT take returns under any circumstances which is fine. She sells authorized products so the warranty from the manufacturer is still in place for 1 year.
I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants honest opinions and great customer service. Thanks!

I was referred to this place by the woman who runs Little Mountain Coffee Shop across the street from my new digs.
Had to get a TV quickly as the playoffs were about to start and we all know how short-​lived that opportunity can be with the Nux.
Was reading one of the reviews on here about their return policy and I must say that the return policy is quite fair & very straightforward just like their way of doing business for over 30 years. I can understand why they have such a policy in place, as I shopped around town looking for the best price, wheeling, dealing & working my charms only to find that they definitely have the best prices in town and there’s no ‘messing around’. I walked in thinking I would have to turn it ‘on’, but immediately I was quoted an unbelievable price and my quick response was ‘I’ll take it!‘
The best part was the above and beyond service by a gentleman there named Eric, who came over and set the whole thing up, gave me the 101, blow by blow technical shpeel and other great tips on the unit.
If you want quality service, unbelievable pricing & a guy in the neighbourhood to shoot the s**t with, Eric is your man. You can tell when all the different types of people in this neighbourhood knows him by his first name. He is just one of those guys in the community who will help u out if u need a hand.

we first went in to browse around and had our eye set on a S799 SONY Bravia tv. my boy friend phoned to ask about their policy after, and the lady said ‘we don’t have one’. so he asked if there is something wrong with the tv how many days do we have to bring it back. she didn’t reply.
not giving up, i emailed them specifically to ask for a copy of their refund/​exchange policy and here is the reply:
‘Our store policy is no refunds or exchanges, so we highly advise you to
think it over before you make any purchases. There are some exceptions to
the policy, whereas, if the TV was opened and it was already damaged due to
shipping or for some other reason related to damage, then by all means we
will take that unit back. If the TV or wall mount was never opened, I don’t
see why we would not provide an exchange or refund. We are fair and we
expect the same from our customers. All our products are brand new in the
box and have never been opened when we sell it.‘
i tried really hard to support local instead of big box. there are 2 positive reviews on Unilocal and that’s why i wanted to give it a try. they maybe nice people and obviously there are loyal customers out there, but sadly the lack of a refund policy scares me. i ended up getting the item from the future shop at broadway/​pine, which surprisingly had really good service and the staff at the tv dept was not pushy at all (his name is ‘Michael’).
So, if a clear refund policy is important to you, forget this place.

Indeed it’s amazing how long they’ve been in business from their humble beginnings when they were on E.57^th. Now i feel guilty I bought my 50″ from Future Shop, but that was only b/​c of Boxing Day Weakness, the few times I bought on impulse, and it wasn’t a Sony, which I had thought South Van specialized in (i bought a plasma LG for those who care, which i’m quite satisfied with).
but one thing that stood out was this lady owner proclaimed to me a year ago,”. that go find the best deal at BB/​FS, & I’ll still beat it”.
yes, i try to support local when I can but not this time lol.
Parking’s a bit tough here, only on this side of Main allows parking, usually fun, esp. w/​that bus stop there too.

This mom & pops store has been around since the late 70’s and the sweet chinese lady whose been running the joint for years is still kicking it with her oldschool typewriter. My grandparents, parents and now my family buys all our tv’s and equipment from here. Best prices and above & beyond service & prices in town hands down. Support your local community and shop here instead of those American owned big box stores!
