Stanley Park – Spirit Catcher Train Ride

My little guy loves the train ride at Stanley Park. We bought a groupon last year and this year which offered the rides at a really great value.
Cole loves the actors and actresses dressed up as mystic animals of the forest and waves at them as the train goes by them.
I also love riding the train during the Christmas season because it is quite pretty with all the Christmas lights. If you are a parent to young kids, this is an awesome ride.
I highly recommend if you have toddlers who love locomotives.

My wife used to take the Stanley Park train as a kid. It used to cost a few dollars and was fun for kids. We decided to try this with our two daughters, now that it is part of Klahowya Village. For $ 26 it left Mom and Dad feeling fleeced and the kids unimpressed. The ride is no longer a peaceful journey through the forest, but a recorded story with actors dressed as the main characters showing up in different places during the 15 minute ride. Perhaps ok for 4 – 6 year olds, but there are many, many free things to enjoy in the park and no need to pay that kind of money for a simple story. When off the train nothing was happening in the village other than vendors trying to sell us arts and crafts.
