This review is based on my recent experience in this Starbucks location. We all know about their drinks and their friendly service. but here is an interesting story for you guys. Last time me and my husband stopped by this Starbucks after our grocery shopping to catch our breath and have some latte. We were sitting and talking like usual, when a a strange man that looks like a homeless person started staring at me and saying something. At first, I didn’t pay attention and continued my conversation with my hubby. Then I realized the homeless guy raised his voice. he was saying that «All muslims shouldn’t be allowed to enter Canada and that we should all be shot…» Ehm… yes and some other more weird and ignorant sayings. Suddenly one of the barista guys came up to him and stopped him, that was nice enough, but he even gave us Starbucks free drink coupons! I thought this was very nice gesture from Starbucks, especially considering the unpleasant case was not even due to their fault!

Great store with real sense of community. Lots of regulars and quick/friendly service because of it. After 4PM people like to stay for a while so finding seating can be difficult, lots of freebies too! Love the team here and would highly recommend to friends and family

This location and I go WAYYYY back … my best friend used to work here and regularly served David Duchovny his lattes back when the X-Files filmed regularly on the Endowment Lands and around UBC(bet you didn’t think I meant *that* far back!). I honestly recall sitting in this location with my parents in the late 80’s. It’s pretty much the same as ever, a nice layout with a smaller retail display than some locations, but it’s primarily a commuter-type clientele. There are great window seats(I am a sucker for people-watching) and outdoor seating, so if you’re not in a hurry to commute somewhere else, it’s a good place to hang out and watch the world go by, to and from the University; it’s only a short block to the main gates at the golf course. The staff are great, even in the 10+ years since my friend moved on from university to non-Starbucks work, and they always recognize the regulars.
