History

Established in 1998.

Stewart & Associates Counselling & Coaching Services Inc. was founded as a corporation in 1998 by Ruth-​Ann Stewart. The office is located in the heart of Yaletown, Vancouver, BC. We also have a satellite office in Hope, BC. Our company provides quality professional therapeutic intervention to individuals and organizations of all sizes.

Business Owner

I have been in the helping profession for thirty-​four years. I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings, which include child protection, adolescent treatment programs, the children’s psychiatric unit at V.G.H., Project Parent as a Family Therapist, school based counselling through Family Services, and as a contract Therapist at Share Counselling Centre. I have been in private practice for over 20 years. My private practice includes clients from a variety of ethnic and economic backgrounds. I work with children, individuals, couples and families. I contract with most of the Employee Assistance Programs and have extensive experience with conflict resolution and mediation in the workplace. I have worked with the First Nation communities of Bella Coola and Tsawwassen on a contract basis and continue to work with urban First Nations who have been affected by residential schools. I have also taught at Vancouver Community College, the Counsellor Training Institute and City University.
